A great compromise on a plugin hybrid
I really like this car. I love being able to avoid the gas station for months at a time and using a more responsible form or energy. The mileage is also incredible :500 miles on one tank, and of course 24 "free" electric miles every time you charge it up. The charger can get dicey: you have to make sure it is fully inserted into the port. Also, be aware that this model comes with no spare, only a "can of goop", which is not going to be able to repair a serious flat. There have been transmission problems reported with this model. Mine was actually bought back by Kia from the original owner because of a transmission problem. But, all in all, I really enjoy owning this car.

Many issues that are not model specific
I have been to the dealer multi times in just over a year with issues. Can't wait to get rid of the car and go with a different company.

Horrible car, do not buy or believe the mpg
This car has nothing but problems. The brakes continue to lock up and i get about 35 mpg on electric. Dealership says thats normal. What happened to 105 mpg it avertises? The car pulls to the right due to the electric system constantly regenerating even when not in the electric mode. I had to have the vehicle fixed twice, towed once, and this is all within the first 1500 miles. Kia will not take responsibility for the defect. I am highly afraid car will start on fire due to the overheating brakes. Heat radiates off them despite driving for only 5 miles on freeway.

getting over 70mpg with some charging
I'm happy with the car. They have a good warranty and it seems well designed and sturdy. I did have issues with the UVO head unit but they are replacing it tomorrow.

The gas tank is still full after 1 week of driving
I had very high demands for my next car as I truly loved my 2013 Elantra GT. But knew it was time to upgrade and decided that a plug in hybrid was the only way to go. This car has exceeded my expectations in every way. Spacious quiet, has lots of zip that other hybrids I had driven didn't have. I love all the safety features like lane change detection as well as lots of media features- and I LOVE SiriusXM which it comes with. There are all sorts of modifications to those features depending on your driving choice. I have been driving just on the electric motor rather than hybrid for most of my driving in town and some highway driving. I use it in my real estate business. I have charged the car 3 times this week and the gas gage has not changed. So Im guessing I'll go thru 1 tank of gas every 1-2 months at most- instead of 3 tanks. It gets over 100 mi per gal on electric motor and 45-50 mpg on hybrid. It does not have AWD but in doing my research - unless you are doing lots mountain snow driving and unpaved roads its really not necessary- you just need good all weather tires!

Excellent replacement for an aging Prius!
Lots of legroom, cargo room, while still having a short footprint. Seats are comfortable, and I love the safety features, such as lane assist and auto distance separation.

Great commuter car
So far so good only had it a week so just learning the bells and whistles. EV mode is for short commutes and Hybrid mode is for long commutes.

First Kia owned and First PHEV
we drove this Niro off the lot and 350mi to home, the dealer charged it up for us and that got us 75+ MPG the first 25 interstate miles, then the hybrid kicked in and after 350mi the mpg read 45.5mpg. Not too bad for 75-80mph driving. The smart Cruise Control worked great and in some heavy traffic it worked great we've owned it for a week now and have been able to run 98% in EV mode by taking advantage of free Charging stations at work.

First hybrid we have owned
So far no problems, a good car though all the display options can be some distracting. I imagine we'll get used to it.

Kia definitely stepped up in the plug-in hybrid ga
As a short woman (5.2ft), I love that I sit high in this car. It is like a mini-SUV and the visibility is great, (especially when compared to the other plug-in hybrid). Also as a mother of 3, I love the roomy back seat (I have 3 car seats) AND the big trunk! Perfect car for commuting the kids with the amazing car mileage, and the safety features even on the base model (lane departure for ex: It will beep and stir back you in the lanes). I LOVE it and highly recommend it!
