Perfect reliability, good fuel economy & power.
My family owns 3 of these (FWD, AWD, turbo AWD). They've been trouble-free. Mine has 45,000 miles; the others have 90,000 and 160,000. No problems, excellent power for its size. Everything has been durable. I'm only selling mine because I bought a new hybrid.

Poorly put together
I live on a dirt road and the vehicle handles the wear and term of it terribly. It packs mud and snow which causes it to shudder until you blow it out with hot water. It burns through sensors like crazy, lower clearance rate than my 2008 sportage, seals on it are crap and it is constantly getting dust from the road. Loved my 2008 so I went with a sportage again will not be making that mistake again.

Love the ECO Engine with great gas mileage.
I just bought my 2011 Kia last October 2017. The mileage was 96,846. I did not let the high mileage deter me from buying it. Even though my Sportage have a few quirks like you can roll down the windows without the car being turned on. The ECO engine is a good gas saver. The only complaint I have are the head rests are very uncomfortable. The high mileage did not deterred me from buying it. KIA?s are greatly known for the longevity of their vehicles. I have a 2008 KIA with over 585,000 miles on it and works as if it was still brand new. I enjoy driving my Sportage. It runs smoothly. It is easier to get in and out of this Sportage then it is getting in and out of a car.

Major issues from engine recall to awd not working
I am not happy with this KIA. The engine froze but KIA did replace it with a new short block after to much haggling with them. The AWD does not work, I live in Michigan and even in AWD lock, I get stuck in 1 inch snow on a flat grade. NOT a auto I would recommend.

A good car for college students.
As an undergrad this car was of the uptmost importance. It made moving into the dorm much easier. With the large cargo space this car makes it good for students who are studying far from home. Performance wise, I feel like the car needs to have a better engine. Especially since it is a people carrier. I feel that the 2.4 174hp base model has a problem merging on the freeway. I believe that if they offered an engine like the V6 in the Sorento this car will have much more appeal to it. In my experience the car seems to be very reliable. I have only had to pay for tire rotations, oil changes and realignments (LA has many read imperfections). Overall my experience with the car is so far so good.
