best suv in the last 15 years
best suv i have owned in the last 15 years, the only thing not too comfartable with is the access to the rear cargo area from the back. need to reach in too far to get items out.

Great vehicle, not perfect
Upside: Beautiful vehicle, great ride. Dealership has been very good to work with. Downside: Rear end alignment fixed twice. Dealer replaced rear tires once - no other problems in 35k miles. Steep depreciation - buy used. I would buy an LR3 again, but would look very carefully at service records.

wow! LR3 rocks!
Great car. I own it for over 2 years now, superb handling, excellent off-road capabilities, huge and airy interior space, very quiet ride and excellent experience with Scheduled Free Maintenance Services. Did not have any major problems whatsoever... Best SUV I ever owned.

Tires make this car unaffordable
We bought it "new' from the dealer with 7k miles as it was a service car. We have put 12k on it ourselves and the tires are SHOT. LR did not rotate the tires ever while it was in their pocession and can't even tell us for sure if they rotated them when we've brought it in for service. They "gifted" us an alignment but are stalling and avoiding us about replacements and the known problems with excessive wear and cupping saying it is common that all owners replace tires every 25k miles due to the weight of the vehicle. Who can afford 1k for tires PLUS the mandatory alignment that ONLY LR dealers can do every 18 months to 2 yrs? Had we known this upfront this would have had a major impact on our buying decision. Love everything else about the car but who can really afford these odd sized/hard to find tires that often?

Quality Disaster for 18 months.
The professional reviewers cite all the reasons why I bought this vehicle. But that was before I realized how poor the quality of it is. I've had the entire air compression suspension, the entire fuel tank and fuel assembly, the driver's air bag assembly, the radio (twice) replaced. I now have a known issue wherein the faulty suspension causes uneven wear in the rear tires. (The most LR can do is to provide discounted replacement tires every 7500 miles since the fault is in the design.) This has been a disaster. Do not underestimate the role of quality. I never will again. Please do not make the same mistake I made.

Very Good Vehicle
I have owner the old discovery and the new version: the LR3 is amazing. I bought mine in May of this year and it has performed as advertised. Its a luxury vehicle that can go off road without fear. I only wish i ordered the front winch to seal it off road capabilities. My friends all love it and want to ride in it all the time. Maybe Land Rover doesnt have the same "perfect" record as a toyota but the vehicles are very good looking and work great. Ask most LR owners and they are happy.

forget Disco long live LR3
I have had my LR3 for a year and have loved it since Day one. If you drive Gentle it would reward you with 19 to 21 MPG on freeway and 12 MPG in the City. I wished it had a rearview Camera but the rear sensors do the job. The windshield washer control and radio controls on the steering wheel are reverse of where they should be but you will get use to it. The Air suspension does a great job of takes the bumps.

The Best 4 X 4 X Far!
What a difference. 1000% better than the Discovery. Comfort, features and power not forgetting of course the turning circle! Great vehicle! Definately a Land Rover. Unique buying experience at a first class facility. Treated like royalty. Very impressed with the car and company. Good Job!

Confusing controls?
This vehicle is in a class by itself. Anything near its price falls short in safety, performance, comfort and convenience. The control layout is very ergonomic and extremely easy to use after a 2 minute learning session. (contrary to the site reviewer's opinion) The third row seating works marvelously and again, easy and convenient. Get rid of your land-yachts and buy this vehicle which handles very well without compromising ride quality.
