What Is the 2020 Lexus ES?

The Lexus ES is a five-seat mid-size luxury sedan that comes in gas (ES 350) and gas-electric hybrid (ES 300h) form. The ES 350 is powered by a 302-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine that works with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the ES 300h’s hybrid drivetrain features a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with total system output of 215 hp. Both models have front-wheel drive. Competitors include the Acura TLX and Lincoln MKZ.

What’s New on the 2020 Lexus ES?

Android Auto smartphone connectivity joins Apple CarPlay, and most versions of the ES now have power-folding side mirrors.

What Features in the 2020 Lexus ES Are Most Important?

Standard active safety features include adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane departure warning with steering assist. Available features include heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless device charging, navigation and a Mark Levinson premium stereo.

Should I Buy the 2020 Lexus ES?

The ES is a distinctively styled luxury sedan, and while the addition of Android Auto is welcome, the car’s Remote Touch multimedia system interface remains a frustration. The hybrid’s estimated gas mileage is underwhelming, too.

  • In my opinion, the 2020 Lexus ES is the best midsize

In my opinion, the 2020 Lexus ES is the best midsize sedan on the market. Featuring a 3.5L Naturally aspirated V6 making 302 HP and 267 (not 266) pounds feet of torque, it’s 195 inches long with a wheel base of 113 inches which makes this drive like a boat, it drives a lot like its bigger brother, the LS—luxurious and composed— but that’s more of a yacht compare to ES. Firstly I’m going to highlight my experience with the car daily driving it. I absolutely love this car, on start up while the engine is cold it is a bit jerky, I’m referring to the Asian 8 speed tranny, it doesn’t like cold fluids what so ever, the engine is loud as it use direct injection instead of the port injection (D4s) while cold. But after it warms up it’s like floating on a cloud, even over bostons worst roads, wind noise is minimal, road noise is non existence and the ambiance of the cabin is amazing, I love driving it, dry smooth, I doesn’t hunt for gears as much as people say but it does jerk at times at low speeds especially if your coming to a stop and you let on the gas instead of hitting zero, it shocks the car and the tranny jerks you into 2nd, turns are very bubbly you feel like your on a bouncy castle, I also need to highlight the personality of ES, 302 HP.. this ain’t no itty bitty 4 banger, ain’t no civic, this is an ES, its own world, it’s fast.. it has no forced induction so from a roll yes you are slow but highway speeds? Man the linear power delivery, it’s so smooth and fast, I can go 120 no problem, I love it so much, but that’s not what the cars about.. but I can be.. it has its limits. The FWD system is fine, 0 torque steer.. I mean there’s a bit but it only becomes prominent if you don’t know how to drive lol, the unibody construction is very planted and structurally intact. It can take an emergency panic steer at 45 MPH easy & hard breaking is done like a champ. The triple beam head lights are amazing the way they follow the direction of the wheel at night. I don’t really have any complaints about ES, besides that jerky tranny but it’s only on cold starts and only when you don’t know how to drive it. The safety systems are lovely, I really like the Lexus touch pad, I love seeing my screen on a sunny day finger print free!! Makes it look elegant, never been a touch screen fan to begin with, I just don’t like how Lexus stops you from being able to interact with the touch pad while the car is in motion but it’s a safety feature. It’s not a perfect car but xxxx is it a great one.. I had Lexus’ my whole life so maybe I’m biased.. I encourage reads to look up the downs sides.. you’ll see people always say the tranny is jerky.. nothing else beside that. And the maintenance? Can’t beat 90$ at the DEALERSHIP I love it, it’s cheap to run and oh it takes regular!! Huge win!! People turn heads when in drive in.. because I have THE Lexus ES, guys skip the base get the triple beams and it elevates your car, the ultra luxury package is amazing, I have every available option you could of speced back in 2020, it’s just such a nice car I love it!!! Please guys buy an ES if you want a smooth reliable comfortable sedan, if you wanna go go go, or something cheaper get a BMW. Or a Honda.

  • Happy Lexus and Toyota Owner 9th times over

Just acquired another preowned Lexus! Excellent car, I’m enjoying it so far. The ES350 is my newest purchase, as I have owned several Lexus models (LX 470, GX 460, GX 470, LS 400, ES250, plus 3 Toyota trucks from the Japanese brand. All were excellent in reliability, solid build, comfort, and styling. Thank you TOYOTA for creating LEXUS.

  • Great car questionable tires

My only problem is why did Lexus put Bridgestone Turano 440 tires on these cars they're terrible tires for all weather and they make a ton of noise I ended up buying a good year comfort drive

  • Perfect But For One Annoying Thing

Beautiful, comfortable, responsive... my only issue is my last three new Lexus' have had annoying, unfixable buzzing from the dashboard. Unforgiving for a car almost $50,000. The dealer said in each case they would have to remove the dashboard. No thanks.

  • OUTSTANDING SEDAN

I have owned Lexus ES 350's over many years. My current ES is definitely the most outstanding. It has great styling, comfortable and quiet ride. Every Lexus that I owned had excellent reliability. Have received many compliments on the looks. My only complaints are rear seat leg room. Also, the front could have been designed more conservative. Again, overall an outstanding car.

  • My sexy car with all the bells and jingles

The car is excellent, however, a touchscreen would be helpful and if it’s cold outside sometime the mouse system takes a while to warm up to make adjustments. My only issues. Otherwise, I’m very pleased, my 3rd Lexus.

  • Can't go wrong with a Lexus

I bought it for the reliability, and could not be happier with all the features (really like the Apple CarPlay) and design of this car. I get lots of compliments on the color (Atomic Silver). Will probably only ever own Lexus again.

  • Comfort and Reliability- Gadgets suck

This car is extremely reliable and comfortable. I used to drive bmw’s and use rentals for business so I have driven most cars that are available on the market. The Lexus gives you a comfort second to a cadillac and performance second to a bmw with reliability that is unparalleled. However, I give it four stars because the infotainment system is awful and enough distraction to cause an accident. It is very difficult to switch media and stations. It is very difficult to use the climate controls. Even just turning a/c on or off is impossible, you have to switch through several screens. The phone bluetooth turns off the ability for you to hear notifications from other apps on your phone so I don’t even use it anymore. The safety gadgets such as t he lane notifications, objects in the road etc are extremely sensitive and annoying. It distracts you while you’re driving and these things go off for no reason. You only have the option to turn off a couple of these safety notifications. One of them causes vibrations on your steering wheel and you cannot turn that one off. It is an extremely annoying system. So the electronics on this car absolutely suck. I cannot leVe my windows cracked for air while the car is off and parked because an alarm goes off and drains the battery. I am so annoyed by the car’s features but I love everything else. The designer of the electronics needs to be fired.
