Good commuter all wheel drive for winter

All-wheel drive for Minnesota weather without the high gas prices. Good small size feature with standard options and some luxury like heated seats and sun-blind in the back window. Intermittent sensing wipers are cool.

Please Read First!!! Avoid the 2007 C230

A common known problem that Mercedes knows about on the 2007 C230 is the balance shaft on this vehicle. Even if an owner does regular oil changes, the balance shaft has been known to be a common problem for this year. If an owner does not perform regular oil changes, there is a high risk of having serious problems with the balance shaft. The replacement part is not expensive. However, the labor and cost to replace this is part is quite expensive. The engine has to be lifted out and dismantled to replace the balance shaft. The dealer will charge up to $4k and since it is no longer covered under warranty, it almost can cost of the value of the entire car itself. Instead of repairing the balance shaft, you can try an engine swap. I chose to repair the balance shaft. I had a mechanic replace the balance shaft for $2000, instead of doing an engine swap-beacuse you risk of having the same time of failure Supposedly the replacement balance shaft is supposed to be indestructible. Anyways, if you have issues with the balance shaft, you can have camshaft error codes. If you are looking to purchase a used 2007 C230 and it is throwing a cam shaft error-Do yourself a favor and avoid buying this car at ALL COSTS. I wish I had done more research before buying a used 2007 C230. I have a host of other issues with this car also. Perhaps I purchased a lemon. I don't know. I have had issues with fuel pump, crankshaft, mass air flow, ecu, camshaft sensors. THe car runs fine now, but I had to dump approximately $4k additional to make my used c230 run proper.

Great car!

My Mercedes C280 is a very safe, reliable, comfortable and low maintenance car. Really happy with it and will get another one again. It has a smooth and quiet ride and great engine performance.

Really good car

Pretty good car , basically I love it , I buy it on a good deal but it got some problems with breaks , I mean you really need to push them to stop the car , maybe the are rusty or is a problem with the breaker I don’t know , rest of the car is all good , for a 13 yrs old car is looking and drive very very good , I planing to make some repairs and some good cleaning inside and outside of the car ! But I definitely recommend this car for my friends and I think my next car will be something very close to it , comfort and the way how it’s driving is just beautiful!

Most reliable and dependable vehicle I’ve bought.

This car is just the one for me. It’s very luxurious and stylish for a 2007 Mercedes-Benz. It’s all black just how I like cars, and it runs excellent. No complaints at all.

Solid & Cheap to own Mercedes-Benz

Bought my C230 Sport back in 2009 as a CPO. I have had such good luck with this car in that it has never left me broken down, none of the repairs I have done have cost more than I expected, and the vehicle itself is in fabulous shape compared to other 2007 cars I see! So many pieces are still pristine and like brand new. it drives and rides like new and even still smells new after 87k miles! The paintwork gets complimented by my detail guy on how thick coat it is and durable. Insurance isn't too much for this car, I did get the airbags replaces for free under the Takata recall. I've only had to replace a thermostat once which caused a check engine light. Other than that it has only needed the usual things like tires, oil, filters and maybe a light bulb or two. I love this car so much and it was such a smart decision as its the perfect combination of being upscale, prestigious and expensive without actually breaking my wallet or leaving me worried about reliability. I would recommend this model to anyone who can find a clean, well kept example. Oh did I mention it sometimes gets over 31 MPG on the highway!? Who doesn't love efficiency without comprise!
