Great value if you look after it and have a good mechanic you trust. Must appreciate the subtle engineering triimphs this car represents. Not a car for the initiated or primarily image seeker

A great stylish sports car with much power which i was able to get for a reasonable price, and is my second SL which has a good reputation.

This car still shows beautifully! It gives you the expected comfort of a Mercedes Benz with the performance of a high performance vehicle. The best of both worlds!!!

Fun to Drive. Drives well. Nice interior. Not the biggest fan of Active Body Control. Wheel balancing is extremely sensitive on this car and not all shops, even dealers (KC comes to mind), can get it right. A highly engineered vehicle means often expensive repairs.

Just a fun pleasure to drive. Everything reeks of quality but beware of quirks such as the hydraulic suspension. Much quieter than my non vert BMW?s and smoother

I found a premium used SL500 with very low kilometers, and I love it. I have had many vehicles, but this is the best one ever. Every time I drive it, people stop me to ask questions about it, and show them how the top operates. It is unfortunate I cannot drive it year round here in Canada, but that just makes Summer even more fun. The power is almost scary, and all of the features are ahead of their time. I will never sell this car, and would recommend an SL to anyone!

I have a 1997 sl 500 I will probably buy a 2005 sl 500 because I enjoy the improvements that were made to the sl 500
