2008 Mercury Mariner consumer reviews

We liked the vehicle when we bought it. We weren't happy with Ford's lack of action on reopening a recall that was closed. Power steering failed while driving it after recall remedy resulting in a serious injury. The Ford Motor Company representative's exact words to me when I called to request they reopen recall 2278..."not our problem". It's on its way to the junk yard soon because the repair cost increases each time I've talked to the dealership. 25 years a Ford owner and their lack of customer service is causing us to switch to another company. Until 2 months ago we had 4 Fords in our driveway. We're down to only 2 Fords today and only 1 next week when we replace the Focus with a Volkswagen. The Focus is following the Mariner and our F150 to the junkyard.

The all wheel drive and economic 4 cylinder engine make this a great car for country living. It has good passing power, unlike the Chevy engines. It has New electronic power steering and new front breaking systems.

The car fits my everyday needs comfortable and roomy handles great. Excellent on gas great also for 4 wheeling and it is reasonably priced for repairs

This car has met all of my needs. Nice exterior, reliable, and drives pretty well. I only wish that there were cup holders in the rear.
