First and enjoys staying only car I've owned

I got a 2001 Mercury Sable GS that just turned to 320,000 miles on it, only thing I ever had to replace was the alternator bout 7 years back, starter 3 years back and radiator a year ago but thats because a Turkey vulture smashed into it. Other than that it putters along amazingly, very controllable and useful. It doesn't give up and I'm hoping it will take me farther, my goal for it is to get to 400,000. I bout it for 600 from a friend, best 600 dollars of my life, that was years ago.

Great Car

I bought a used 01 Sable and had it more than 1.5 years. It was a good reliable car to me with excellent smooth riding. I had to change some parts during this time but all of those were regular maintenance every car goes through such as oil change, engine tune up at 100k miles, rear brake. I did not have any major issue with using it and I feel it was worth of what I paid for this.

Old, But reliable

I have received this car as a graduation gift to me. It has been with me since 2010. It survived a transmission change and O2 censor valve replacement. Still reliable to this day, Despite needing a new transmission after the hills of California took it's toll.

Love it when it is running

Bought the car in 2006 with only 9900 miles on it, it was like a new car. It has the 24 valve DOHC engine. It is peppy. I have replaced just about everything on this car, Alternator, fuel pump, rack and pinion, master cylinder, A/C compressor, coil, plugs and wires, brake rotors. now the motor mounts are bad. Just a word of warning if you need to replace the coil, plugs or plug wires you need to remove the intake manifold which makes labor costs go through the roof. Another quirk is the trunk opening is very small, the trunk is large but the opening is very small. When the car is running it is fun to drive and is quite comfortable.

This Car Sends the Right Message

I have owned many Mercury Sables over the years but the 2001 LS has always been my favorite. When you drive up in a car you are delivering a message about who you are. The message this car delivers is, "I am successful but I am not a showoff."

Nice used car

We purchased this car used for our daughters first car. It was in excellent condition with only the AC compressor not working. Dealer helped with the pricing to split the difference since we will need that repaired in the spring. Very happy with the purchase. Feel it is a beautiful and safe vehicle for our baby to be driving in. Thank you.

Amazing

I just bought this car with 40k miles for under 7,000 dollars. I drove this car once off the lot for a test drive first and fell in love with it. It has a sleek look, the inside is very attractive with the leather seats, it's a luxurius car, even for a 2001 car! A 2001 car with 40k miles! It was an amazing buy. I use the car to get to work and just drive around a bit, I can't wait to take it onto the road for a trip somewhere.
