2006 Nissan Altima consumer reviews

I purchased my 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 in October 2016 and have nothing but good comments on this Vehicle. Is very reliable, is very good on Gasoline. Same as the HONDA and TOYOTA ( Japan made ), the Nissan is a very good and reliable vehicle. Keep up with the regular maintenance will not let their owner down. If I have my way, my Nissan is and will be my last Vehicle. :)

I am selling a 2006 Nissan Altima, because I need a bigger SUV for my family. I bought this Altima in 2013 and have been using it for commute and long distance travel without any issues. The car is in excellent condition and very clean both inside and outside.

Car looks great. It performs well. Whoever owns or owned it the first 100k miles-- kudos. After that it's a straight ride to xxxx. The 4 cylinder engine has a fatal engine flaw that causes it to leak/burn oil until you simply cannot keep up. And then the engine goes. Couple this with a very weak head gasket...just forget it. I owned two of them. I loved the first one and blamed myself when the engine went at 150k. Bought another and nursed it with continuous oil top-offs and managed to get it to 180k. Engine went on that one too. Finally researched the vehicle in greater detail and discovered the issue. All these high reviews you see here are with lower mileage or the 6 cylinder engine. As for the 4 cylinder? Stay away from this car, period. You want a rock solid Altima? Buy a late 1990's version. Nissan actually knew how to make world class vehicles back then.

Affordable luxury and performance. 3.5V6 is a fantastic engine! My Altima is fun to drive and very comfortable. It’s so smooth and one of the most reliable vehicles I’ve owned!

Do Not buy this car with over a 120,000 miles on it. The exhaust manifold/ catalytic converter goes bad and warps the engine. The definition of a money pit!

THIS CAR HAS SEVERAL MECHANICAL ISSUES, TRANSMISSION, ENGINE, THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES NOISE, WHEN TURNING. THE BRAKES ARE WORN, STRUTS SHOT, RUNS ROUGH. Tie Rod ends shot. This car was in a prior accident, that I was not informed of.

Very reliable. Spacious and comfortable. Great engine, very easy to maintain. Great on gas. Nice design. Good for a family car. I recommend to all my friend.

Excellent vehicle with lots of life. Comfortable and exceptional. Lots of leg room, Smooth drive, excellent on gas. Ive driven from salem to seattle in traffic hour on a half a tank , thats 5 hours. Very reliable. i would recommend

i love the body style the performance except for what i feel are the recall matters its a great vehicle the style is beauty and the luxury of it is just enough and comfort is for all passengers not just driver

i love my car it is equal to what is considered a luxury expense vehicle has a beautiful body and can perform at an excellent rate needs correction for those results im very happy to own just concerned of all recalls on 2006 nissan altima
