I purchased this car as a second car and to use with my RV. This is a 2014 Rogue Select. After a lot of looking, I found a 2014 Rogue Select with 14,600 miles. This was confirmed in the Carfax report. After going thru the car completely, I have found 2 things that need repaired. I have driven Nissans with CVT transmissions of over 20 years. If you keep up with all the maintenance then you shouldn't have any more troubles than with any other car. It has the Nissan 2.5L 4 cyl engine. This engine has been around for a long time. This is a very basic car. I will be upgrading the Headlight to LED (GTR Ultra 2), Installing a mirror dashcam system and a tow hitch. I wont be installing Fog Lights. The audio system is marginal and will be upgraded in the future. I haven't decided about the aftermarket warranty as the factory warranty expired a long time ago. So far this car is a good ULTRA LOW mileage used car. It is reasonably comfortable rides well and has an acceptable level of performance. I think it is a good car for the intended usage.

I’m sure the Rogue Select is great before 100K miles but afterward, I would even give that car to my worst enemy. I bought car originally 5k but then threw roughly 7k in maintenance into it. The CVT is the worst transmission ever, got that replaced. And just a bunch of other things that racked up a bill.

  • This car is a piece of JUNK!

This car is a piece of JUNK! A class action lawsuit against Nissan, which I found out about too late to join, shows just how bad this car is. Nissan should be ashamed and just do a recall on these transmission.

  • Buyer beware of Rogue SELECT

After much research, the CVT transmissions on the Nissan Rogue SELECT go bad if not properly serviced. I bought mine from a 'reputable' dealer, not an individual or 'gravel car lot'. It had 106,000 ish miles. I have since learned that is high for these 'Select' models. 111,000 miles ish, the engine light came on. Turns out to be a code P1740. CVT transmission needs fixed or replaced. $6000. So, the nutshell version, I can't fix it, I can't trade it and can't drive it far. Dealer higher ups basically said, 'too bad' as is, no warranty'. Also, keep in mind, during my post purchase research, not all reviews are for the SELECT models. Some reviews include ROGUE also. Big difference including price.

  • most issues on a car i ever bought

I thought it was a good suv but when I drove it off the lot I called and said the car feels like its going to stall when I have my car running with the AC at a red light and the rpm races when I go down hill, I brought it in and they couldn't find anything they say, but still kept doing it, they did a oil change with air filter well they say. I brought it to my mechanic for the next oil change and they showed me the air filter it was the original its was so dirty and twisted it was awful. they said I had new tires I had them rotated every oil change and I work five minute from the house. and I had to buynew tires . I was taking for a piece of crap put so much money in it now another warren like and its transmission.grrrrrr and I cant afford another repair

  • Convenience features lacking but SAFE.

A great car for businesses. Basic interior functions. Bluetooth/USB connectivity should always be compatible. New gen. Apple products not compatible. Bluetooth connects to Phone ONLY. Aftermarket stereo system and amp are already On their way after driving it for 3 months—messing with the audio/charger dongle. The road noise is wicked. Transmission wines.
