Great car
Vehicle currently has 400,000km and no signs it’s slowing down (touch wood) car has been bullet proof and probably the most reliable I’ve owned, only major work has been new clutch at 266,000

One of my favorite vehicles ever owned
This car has been real good to me. Has a lot of power you can feel it as soon as you start it up. Has all terrain tires but still drives smooth for the type of vehicle it is. If you’re an outdoor person like me who is constantly needing to throw stuff in the back for camping/biking/working out etc., it’s the perfect vehicle for you. A new job has caused me to commute further so I’m changing to a smaller car with better gas mileage, or else I wouldn’t be selling it! Will miss this car and will probably purchase an Xterra again in the future.

Best I've ever had
I've had my 2006 for over 5 years now and its pulled out everything from Jeeps, Toyotas, GM trucks, Fords, Dodge and even a Land Rover. The best thing about this SUV is easily how it dominates all situations with more than enough power, on or off road like nothings been thrown at it. I can't say enough about an Xterra honestly to convay how amazing they are.

240K Miles and counting...
LOVE this car! People are shocked by the number of miles on it. I bought it new and am up to almost 240K and the car still has a lot of spunk. If you buy, make sure the recall issues are taken care of. I purchased the extended warranty that covered the tensionner and radiator part that caused fluid to leak into the transmission issue. I change the oil every 3k miles and there doesn't appear to be any carbon build up in the engine.

Great power for a 6 cyl.
I liked the stance and the roominess. Plenty of cargo space. Plastic interior was great for what they made this car for. Was never meant to be a luxury vehicle but a great utilitarian vehicle. Great on and off road and the 4wd was the best. This was the first year production of the new 4.0L V6 which it had it problems one being the catalytic converters. At a replacement cost for OEM of $7-800 each was not cheap. I decided to go a cheaper route and was met with another demise of the cats. The computer on this thing didn’t like the cheaper version. So I recommend that you replace with factory new or used. I changed them again with a set of used factory ones from a newer xterra for a third of the cost and had no problems. I think they solved the cat problem in newer years but not sure. Another thing is the transmission and radiator. On some of them the radiator cracks and dumps coolant into the transmission and wrecks it immediately, mine had a rebuilt transmission and an updated radiatior when I bought it saving me about a $3-4000 price tag. I knew this before I bought it and only bought it because of the price and the fact that the repair was already done.

Do not EVER want another car.
I intend to have my 2005 Nissan Xterra Off Road FOREVER. I am super comfortable driving it---I sit UP and can SEE---especially important on long drives.

Worst designed vehicle ever
The Xterra is a nightmare if anything ever goes wrong with it. The cost to repair is high as it is poorly designed. It drives horrible as it catches any little breeze. It is not for young drivers as our kids hated this vehicle.

Extremely reliable and robust.
Great car for the money. Safe, reliable, and overall fun to drive. I always knew I would be prepared for anything that I might come across in my travels. Rain, snow, mud, all a breeze with the 4x4 engaged.

364,000 miles and counting
We bought this car new and currently have 364,000 miles on it. We have driven it everywhere. Through snow, sand, mud, over mountains and to the beach. It has never left us stranded. I have nothing but good things to say about this vehicle. IMHO, Nissan should still be making them.
