2006 Pontiac Solstice consumer reviews

I owned a 1965 Cobra Replica but due to financial needs a sold it. A couple of years later I was urging for a new toy. I got the Solstice with only 8K miles. The perfornace was more than I would expect for the small car but the response and handling was even better than I expected. Today's new cars incorporate padel shifters and traction control. Well, my solstice came with a manual tranny. This mean I enjoy every moment I am on it. The fact that I can peal rubber is even a better plus. My only complaint is that I am a 6 foot guy and getting in and out is not that practical. Once in I am Ok. I would prefer that the top would be automatic but for the price I cannot complain. This car has it all. But you are a large person it should not be your daily driver. In my case it is my toy car and I consider it better than my Cobra becuase it has Ac airbag, a roof etc.,

I am very pleased with this car. I've owned it for a couple of years and would recommend it to anyone looking for a modern roadster. The most notable feature is its exterior styling, the weakest is the interior materials and overall fit and finish. If GM can improve on these two points, it will have a good selling car for years to come.

I bought my red Solstice new in Jan 06 and took possesion in April. It has the Sand and Granite leather interior and most options. I was dissapointed with the enginepower but it doesn't matter when you are driving on twisty winding roads of which there are plenty in my area. This car handles so well it is almost unbelievable. I drive my vehicles hard and this one is no exception. The fun factor on a scale of 1 to 10 is a solid 15. The styling was very well done and is what I love about it besides the handling. I also own a GT PT Cruiser and it will blow the doors off the Solstice on the highway but it doesn't hold a candle to the Solstice on the back roads. Ya gotta love this car. I am beyond retirement age but you are always young at heart. Enjoy life. I know i do.

I just bought a 2006 Pontiac Solstice and it is a blast - especially with the top down. For having a lot of fun while driving, this is a very affordable vehicle. No room for anything but a driver and passenger. But as long as you're not going on a long road trip, this is the car to get! 5-speed manual tran is fun and gets decent gas mileage. Highly recommended for those who love to get out in the sun and go fast.

My husband surprised me by giving me my Solstice for my 40th birthday. What an incredible car. I love my Solstice so much! It handles so well and is so sexy. All I have to do when I am having a bad day is take a spin, listen to the great sound system, and I am back to having a great day. I love having the sun on my face and the wind in my hair. The only down side - I am grounded from driving it until May because of our weather - but just sitting in still makes me happy.

I loved driving the Solstice, the only complaint was that it didn't have enough horsepower. And then there was the GXP.

I have had no problems with this car. this car is fun to drive car. I bought mine one year ago today and I am still very happy with my purchase.

MY 2007 NEW CAR CAME IN,HAD TO TRADE IN MY SOLSTICE. TOOK A BIG LOSS.DEALER TRADE IN $19,000.00,LOST $6,400.00 650 MILES ON CAR.

My Solstice has been one of the most exciting cars I've ever owned. I've meet so many other enthusiasts who love this car as much as I and done several events with them. It's so much fun to drive, handles perfectly, tons of excitement, lots of attention, a wonderful community, and just a joy to own. The trunk space and roof take a little getting used to at first, but once mastered they don't detract from the excitement that is owning a Solstice.

After putting over 6500 miles on our "Deep" Blue '06 Pontiac Solstice since 11/11/05, I regret telling my husband that "Solstice" was a stupid name and I wanted nothing to do with it. My Solstice now represents Freedom to me. The freedom to drive a very well-manufactured vehicle, whenever and whereever I want, with the wind in my hair and the music of my choosing surrounging me as if at a concert, in total comfort, in total tranquility, and in total style. The feeling of complete control of the road with the Solstice is surpassed by none. Top up or top down, this car gets the once-over at least four to six times every five minutes. I never before have been in a vehicle where everyone keeps a respectful distance from my vehicle. What an idea! Beauty AND protection in one.
