1989 Saab 900T Sedan

Of all the sedans I have owned over the years not one has been more fun to own & drive. I put just over 220kmi on it and stored it every winter. I gave it to a younger sibling and I believe he was blessed to get another 30 + thousand miles before he had the engine & transmission torn down & reassembled by an authorized Saab repair & resale shop someplace in MA. The body was like new thanks to no winters and one application from bumper to bumper of a high gloss clearcoat. He sent me photo's and that 900T looked as good as the day I bought it if not better. I think the body had somewhere close to 500kmi on it when he sold it. Always wished I would have kept it !! Next to the 900T SPG & 900T 3-dr, the '87-89 900T sedan was Saab's best sports sedan hands down in my opinion !!

Still going

We purchased this car back in the 90's. Granted its been kept in the garage for a majority of the time this baby is still going. Very comfortable and stylish. Plenty of pep.

1989 900T SPG 3-door hatchback

I purchased my 1989 900T SPG as a dealers demo in the Spring of 1990. It was the owners spouses demo that had 1200 mile's and wasn't driven the previous Winter and not titled. This SPG was a totally different car than the 1985 SPG I had brought in for its 60Kmi service. Besides the obvious external updates that took place on all 1987 900 models, this 1989 900 SPG's handling was significantly improved, not that my 1985 was bad. I have been blessed to have owned other 900 models. My Summer daily driver was split equal between a 1989 900T sedan & a 1988 900T 3-door. I as thousands of other Saab enthusiasts were greatly disappointed in GM's influence & control of design and engineering when the 1994 900 arrived at dealers. The 900 that we all came to love in 1980 when it arrived at dealer's within the US. The 1980 900T 3-door was a significantly different sports car that combined Swedish engineering, fwd, and eventually a 2.0L Turbo that is now the norm for dozens of coupes, sedans, and CUV's. If you ever have the opportunity to purchase a restored 1979-1993 Saab 900T, jump at the opportunity for it may never happen again. Also consider a 1987-1992 900S, as it's another great Saab to own and drive.
