In the last 25 years, Saab has, in our opinion, put out two nice cars, the 9000CD and now the 9000CD turbo Griffin, a limited-edition top-of-the-lineshowcase of the Swedish automaker`s talents for `92.
We enjoyed the 9000CD because it didn`t look like a traditional Saab; weappreciated the Griffin because it didn`t look or act like one. Except for an engine that`s a tad noisy, the Griffin almost acted as if it were a Buick.
The Griffin is priced at $42,195, and every conceivable goodie isstandard: leather and suede seats (heated), power anti-lock brakes andsteering, traction control, AM/FM stereo, portable cellular phone, airconditioning with rear-seat outlets, power seats, power windows, automatictransmission and driver-side air bag.
One catch: Like Kermit, it only comes in green-eucalyptus green, meaningdon`t park too close to a koala bear.
