expencive problems...

It is a reliable vehicle when you first get it and its not a bad vehicle to have, but if your an average or below average person who barley makes enough money to pay the bills, this car isn't for you and it tends to get a bad transmission, which is expensive...

Piece of Junk

I owned one of these pieces of junk a few years ago. It was working well for the first few days but then all of a sudden, the "reduced power" light came on. It wouldn't go more than 30 km/h after that light came on. Thank goodness I was able to return it. It's no wonder Saturn only used the 3.0L engine for the first two years of the Vue.

Good Value

For a GM product Saturn was a leader. Too bad when they asked for bail out money the Saturn line was sacrificed.

A Nice Vue

It is a 5sp stick, that gets excellent gas mileage. I added a bull bar, fog lights, factory rear spoiler, hood scoop, & sunroof air visor. I had to replace my clutch set at 215,000 miles. The engine is still going strong. Next, I will paint it, & redo the seating in a hot-rod cool fashion.

Great Car, Great gas mileage

This car has performed well for me for 12 years. As advertised when these cars were first marketed, I returned to my Vue in a parking lot to find the rear quarter panel dented by another vehicle. The dent which was the size of a soccer ball popped out before my eyes. Body still looks great, no rust, paint glossy even though it has never enjoyed being kept in a garage. Very reliable. Manual transmission gets 21/29. Since it's a 4 cylinder, it's a bit slow which is the only negative in my opinion. Love this SUV.

A good medium-use SUV

I bought it new in 2004. On the whole, it's been a good car. Some minor, easy to fix body/assembly items, but only big mechanical issue was having to replace the transmission in 2011, but since then has been reliable. Although out of warranty, GM paid for the parts. Although kept outdoors year-round, it still looks great. The V-6 I opted for gives it peppy acceleration. Has been great in snow and ice.

Plastic car

This car is bad! Have yet to find one bit of real metal on it, even car magnets will not stick. Even the hub caps are plastic. The Vue is cramped inside both the front and the back. Not a good car for anyone who is 5' 8" and 350lbs. The seats are short in both length and height it cuts off in the middle of my thigh's. Had to use the hazards for the first time this week and the button pushed into the panel. The handle grips on the side of the car are pulling on all four doors and the dashboard is buckling. The ignition sticks all the time and I can actually pull the key out while the car is still running. I would never feel safe having anyone else in my home drive this car- Its all plastic!

Problematic at best

2003 AWD VUE 6 CYLINDER. BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE OFF THE LOT. WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT IN THE FIRST 3 YEARS. ELECTRICAL WIRING FROM THE FIRE WALL INTO THE ENGINE WAS CONNECTED WITH A 16 PRONG CONNECTOR THAT CORRODED AND SENT THE CAR INTO LIMP MODE. THREE TIMES WE HAD IT WORKED ON AND THEY FINALLY RIPPED THE WIRING HARNESS OUT. WE ONLY HAVE 61000 MILES ON IT AND THERE IS A SUBSTANTIAL VALVE TAP, THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS WERE REPLACED AND NEED TO BE REPLACE AGAIN. GRANT IT IT IS AN 11 YEAR OLD CAR, BUT THE MILES DON'T WARRANT THE PROBLEMS WE HAVE DEALT WITH. OVERALL EVALUATION WOULD BE TO NOT TO BUY THIS CAR, IF I WERE YOU.
