Jimbo. -Updating my Review! Bought my 2005 Xa with 159k miles. - I just crossed 190k! NEVER an Engine Light... Yet. I do use the Basic FIXED OBT2 and Blue Driver OBT2. No Codes on them either. Using Mobile One Syn, Royal Purple... 5w-30w and best filters to match at 7k intervals. Oil is still "honey-colored" after 7k. Good Air filters too. Getting the brakes checked tomorrow. No issues... just a rear brake creaking. That's the only issue I have to this point. STILL... NO OIL USEAGE between oil changes. No Coolant added since Fluid replace at 159k. Averaging 37.2 MPG on 75% Highway Driving. Scion rated 32/37 Originally. I am using Non-Ethanol Fuel however. I love this car! Hitting a deer and getting only a thousand bucks in value does worry me. I love this little Scion Bug... more than my wife!!! -More Reliable!

Bought 2005 Scion XA a little over a year ago (159k). Test Drove and plugged in OBT2. No Codes. It had a long Carfax list of Regular Repair. Drove like a dream. Now at 175k... No Codes... No issues. I've put about $1800 in TLC... and highest quality Syn Oil... basic stuff. I expect 400k from the Simple Scion (Toyota) 5-Speed Manual. Saw one TODAY in a parking lot... Same exact model! I talked to the Owner. She had over 250k on hers! Only thing she's done (outside of semi-regular maintenance) is replacement of O2 Sensor. She thought I was SELLING MINE. She called her husband immediately! I assured her... I'm keeping this little charm to at least 400k! Only complaint... Gear Box is notchy! Nothing is perfect. Love this car!

This is a great little commuter car. Easy to drive and park in the city. In Highway driving it can keep up with traffic but is slow to pass. A/C works but if it gets into the 90’s it starts to struggle. Mine is at 273k miles and is starting to have problems that I can’t fix myself.

Great car for commuting to work for over 15 years! The mileage was great and is still good. Still drives good. No majors repairs were needed.

I had to replace wheel bearings an almost every wheel and rear brakes could have need disk brakes cheep move by toyota but interior is made very well and driveablity is good but lacked power for passing and risky maneuvers.

This car is like a warrior. It has never broken down or stopped functioning in anyway. I do wish it had an auxiliary cord. But it is a great car for the city and you can park it anywhere.

This car is excellent, it has a lot more room than you might think,very easy on gas,and very peppy. You can see the quality in the interior. Nothing bad to say. Wish they were still making them.

I know my Scion is not flashy, not fast, but it gets me where I'm going and has for more the 13 years. It has never given me major trouble, just normal wear and tear. With any luck, I'll drive it another 13 years

This car has never let me down. The seats are comfortable--both in height and cushion--the engine is peppy (it's a light car), the cargo is sufficient, and the audio is exceptional. If I had to ding it for one thing it'd be the engine noise. I rarely take my xA on the highway though, so no worries! It does fine in the snow with good tires. It handles very well and the ride is adequate (generally you can have handling or ride, not often both). This is my forever car and I don't want to let it go! I've had this lovely Scion for about 30,000 miles now (120,000 on it now, I think), and I've only changed the oil. It needs so little attention, it's just a pleasure to own.

always liked the styling, dependable engine, great gas mileage. Expect it to hold up for many years. believe this to be one of the best small cars around.
