Good Everyday Driver

The Camry is everything you would expect from Toyota. I owned it with high miles (around 150k) and in my two years of ownership, i've had no major services besides changing out an old rusty exhaust (MA car). The car rides nice on the highway when you have good tires on it. The problems I've had with it a blown fuel pump fuse and I had to tighten the power steering belt, as the power steering went out in the rain when turning at low speeds.

old reliable

I got my 1998 Camry used in 2002 with about 36,000 miles on it. She now has a 193,000 miles and engine is still going strong. I am not the best at routine maintenance and all I have done is oil changes Tires and Brakes for the most part and admittedly not as often as recommended. She has survived multiple fender benders. Exterior is showing its age and suspension is no longer fabulous but I would go back to Toyota anytime. In fact I also have a Salvage title 2006 Tacoma base model 145k miles that I love. Unfortunately it has no airbags as they were deployed before I bought it. Both vehicles have taken a lot of abuse over the years but they get me where I need to go.

Most reliable vehicle I've owned

We bought our 1998 Camry used (it had 10k miles). We now have 280K miles and still going strong. Safe, reliable, excellent gas economy. No major repairs. Love this car.

The best car I've owned for the price

I paid $1500 for this car, it had 120,000 miles on it, power everything (sunroof included) and surprisingly enough for a car that's almost 20 years old everything works on it including the a/c and cruise control. I am extremely happy about this purchase.

1998 Toyota Camry still going strong

I bought my 1998 Camry because I needed a car to last 15 years until my sons graduated from college. My youngest graduated 3 years age and at 180,000 my Camry is still going strong. It's the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Toyota Camry 1998 2.2 Auto Saloon

I have owned my Toyota since 2006 with 47,000 on the clock. It now has 143,000 on the clock and runs superbly well. The car is free from rust and there are no oil leaks or drips. I previously had an Alfa Romeo GTV which was constantly breaking and going for repair. The Camry could not have been a bigger contrast as it is so reliable and nothing major has gone wrong. Style wise the car is starting to look quite sleek compared to the odd styling of modern cars today. Ride is very smooth and great having the auto transmission around town. The car is also very easy to work on with lots of room in the engine bay and changing discs, pads, belts etc straight forward. This car is one of Toyota's best ever. They even decided when they designed it to put in a sun roof and air con!

Exceptional Build Quality

I bought it for 3K in 2009 when it had 145K miles on it. I just moved to US and wanted to get something cheap so I can get comfortable driving in the states and in the snow etc....figured Idd sell it once the winter is over....6 years later...I still have it with 230K on it...I can only think of 2 things that 'broke'....everything else I did can be considered usual wear and tear....Battery, Tires, Brakes, new sprk plugs, and struts.
