Best value for your money

Owner of 2 Highlander. My 2004 cumulated 125k miles and stiill runs great. No problems, hands down. The 2013 drives even so much better. I look forward to driving it every chance I get. Very satisfied.

Pretty Happy

I was a Honda/Acura person up until now, but I have to say, I love my Highlander and I'm glad I switched. The handling on the Highlander is very agile yet soft, and responsive on tight turns. For power, it is surprisingly strong (I was shocked coming from a 4cy. Turbo) and doesn't leave you with that feeling of a poky SUV. The interior is nice and spacious - the layout is pretty logical too. It did take me a couple of weeks to get used to, but again I was a Honda/Acura person prior so this was totally different for me. The ride is very quiet and smooth - far smoother than my Acura was and I don't get that bumpy SUV feeling either. On the negative side, the options are limited - no HID's, memory seats or mirrors, no lane assist etc... The Entune app was a meh for me. While bluetooth works fine for phones, the Entune app requires the iPhone (phone only) to be plugged in via USB to use the app which is pretty lame. No email or text yet with Entune either. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my Highlander Limited and glad I made the switch!

So far I am impressed

Upgraded from a 2002 Highlander. The 2013 is bigger and roomier and has a few more features. Handles nice, ride is comfortable and hauls more. After 1 month, I am impressed!

Best Overall Value.

Up unitl a few years ago, I was a GM loyalist. We purchased a Honda Ridgeline which I now have 200K miles on and never an issue. Last year we purchased a Toyota Solara Convertible for summer and never an issue. We recently traded my wife's Saturn Outlook with 67K miles which was nothing but repairs and recalls from beginning to end. We traded it for a new Highlander. We considered a used Highlander, but they hold their value so well, it makes no sense to buy used. She absolutely loves everything about the car including the incredible NAV system. It will be a long time before I go back to American cars because of the repair hassles, lousy fuel mileage and terrible resale values. As they say "it is what it is". I will miss having my mechanic know me by first name each time I walked in.. No I wont.

All the bells and whistles

This is my first Toyota purchase, my third SUV. The Highlander has the most amazingly smooth ride with any accessory you would ever want as Standard in the SE V6 model (with the exception of NAV). I've been driving it for a month and the performance has been exceptional. Handling is great since it is not on a truck chassis like the 4Runner. I'm adjusting to the rear view camera and the ease of using the remote to lift and lower the tailgate which is great when your hands are full. The interior is roomy and the leather luxurious. Every row of seats (including the third row) has cup holders, great for additional riders and the second row environmental controls are a plus. This is my first blue tooth enabled vehicle and since I listen to audiobooks on my iphone, having the audio sync with my phone once the audio has been activated is a definite luxury. I do think the outside could be a little more stylish, there isn't much detail but it is a small issue and not important enough to preclude my purchase. The Highlander has met and exceeded my expectations.

familiar locations

Driving this SUV on curvy mountain roads or on Interstates, the performance feels tight and road safe. It is a pleasure to drive and the gas economy is better than expected. So many safety features really appeal to me. However there is one feature that I feel is a huge distraction: Bluetooth telephone is great Except you must take your eyes off the road due to the lack of voice command to initiate a call. While this feature is available on the highest end model, when contacting the Toyota Customer Care and the local dealer about this addition to my model, I received no response. I know there are "after market" products available but the controls, which are located on the steering wheel have a "blank" where the voice command button would be positioned. There is also no latch hook for baby/child safety seats on the 3rd row. This row is a little too short for a 6 foot adult but perfect for little guys. Why not add this safety feature in the area best used for little people?

I love my Toyotas!

I was riding the fence between the RAV4 and the Highlander but chose the Highlander SE with the V6 because of the standard features that were included with this model. I could not be happier with my purchase! I was very surprised by the power it harnesses as well as the roomy interior and all the new electronic features that make life a little easier. I've only had it about 2 weeks now, so I can't speak for it's reliability but it is a Toyota so enough said!
