Owned for 5,000 miles. Initial quality outstandin
Really the most versatile version of a mid-sized SUV. Milage is great, even right out of the gates (28-30 mpg). Only down size is controls are not the most intuitive, but just need getting used to. We did buy the platinum, so it is very well equipped. We find the seats to be the most comfortable and did test drive most of the luxury brand competitors. I loved the new X3, but my wife found the seats less comfortable.

2nd Highlander we owned, love it.
We owned a 2007, then a Rav4, but went back to the roomy, quiet, 2018 Hybrid limited Highlander. Big improvements in the newer ones, just wish it had Led headlights.

Finally switched to Toyota, and I love it!
The Highlander Hybrid is a tremendous vehicle. As far as I know, it is the only non-luxury three row crossover in hybrid form. I have not put a lot of miles on the vehicle so far, but here are my initial impressions. STYLE/DESIGN: The Highlander Hybrid will not turn a lot of heads, but it looks sharp and it is designed to function well. It is unfortunate that no trim level is available with HID headlights but other than that I do not have any complaints with its overall style and design. It was redesigned for 2017 and that redesign did a lot to make the exterior of the vehicle more appealing. INTERIOR: The interior of the Highlander Hybrid is a fantastic place to spend time. My Limited Platinum model has quad bucket seats, a panoramic moonroof, JBL sound system, heated & ventilated front seats, heated second row seats, tri-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and many other nice features. My only complaint with the interior is that the 3rd row is pretty cramped for multiple adults, but one adult can sit sideways and be more comfortable. TECHNOLOGY: The Limited Platinum Highlander Hybrid has most of the technology anybody could ask for in a nice crossover. Adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and countless airbags are great safety features. I do wish that the adaptive cruise control worked at low speeds, but it turns off below 30 I believe. The only glaring omission in technology is the lack of Apple Car Play/Android Auto. Get with the times Toyota! PERFORMANCE: I mainly purchased this vehicle for its performance. I may be the only Highlander owner without children, but I loved it's high horsepower numbers (306), while still getting close to 30 MPG in city driving. The All-Wheel-Drive system functions well and it's different from other AWD systems as the rear wheels are only powered by the electric engines. I've been averaging around 25 MPG so far in mixed driving conditions. RELIABILITY/RESALE: Obviously, my vehicle is new so I can't report a lot on this, but this is a main reason why I finally switched to Toyota. I got tired of my past GM and Ford cars breaking on me and their resale value is nothing compared to Toyota. I know I can drive this $50,000 SUV for five or six years and still possibly get about $15,000 to $20,000 resale value. OVERALL: I was choosing between this and the Honda Pilot. I chose the Highlander Hybrid because of the better gas mileage and I found the design a little better. The Pilot is a fine SUV and there are many other competitive players in this segment, but the Highlander should be high on anybody's shopping list for a family sized crossover that is rich on features.

Highlander Hybrid for Tall People
It exceeds my expectations. Need AWD and with the current edition of the Highlander Hybrid you get real AWD. Important, especially when you're driving in snow and ice.

So fancy!
This SUV has all the room and luxury you could possibly need! I am still learning how to use all of the electronics but so far it has been an easy process. The amount of space on the inside is wonderful and the pearl white exterior is so flattering.
