This car is a stealth rocket ship, masquerading in sublime luxury! Sheer elegance in its form and function, the turbo charger hardly needs to spool up and you can blast up a highway on-ramp or pass another vehicle as though they are parked. As others have noted, the massaging seats for driver and passenger are sublime for longer drives or at the end of a long workday. Luxurious, yet understated elegant interior with first-quality materials and — though now a decade old as I write this review — still market-leading German technology throughout, every bell and whistle you could even hope for now in 2024 tech. 750 mile range on one tank of diesel fuel … let’s face it, if VW / Audi had not tried to ‘fix the deck’ by messing with diesel emission testing, a diesel engine is far superior to any hybrid or electric engine. This is by far the nicest looking and best-performing car I’ve ever owned in 50+ years of driving. I still own my A8L TDI, have (only) 115K miles on it, and plan to drive it 250K+ it is that sustainably awesome!

The A8 is a wonderfully smooth luxurious car to cruise around in, that is when you have the air suspension set to comfort and the transmission in “D.” Switching the suspension to dynamic (sport) and pulling the shifter down to S and this unsuspecting German sedan transforms into a different animal! Amazing quick for its size and weight, maintaining its composure through corners and embarrassing the drivers of “sport cars.” I owned mine for 30,000 miles starting at 98,000 and I only had to replace the 2 mechanical fuel pumps on top of the engine and 1 oxygen sensor (all myself.) I consistently got 19-20 mpg evenly mixed driving, heavy footed or not. Loved every minute of it. I would probably still be in it if I didn’t need the huge back seat anymore.

The Audi A8L drives every bit as good as it looks. It is classic and elegant and a pleasure to drive. This car will not let you down!

Hi just updating my previous review, Now owned this car for over 6 years, Car is coming up to 15 years old (2007 3.2FSI Quattro) this year and never failed an MOT while I have owned it, only Fail prior to me owning was a number plate light not working. Car still looks new, Aluminium body doesn't rust, and Paint polishes up very nice, (Phantom Black Metallic) Still turns heads and always getting comments on its condition, I owned a 2001 A8 prior to this one had that for 8 years, wasn't sure when I bought the car if it would be as good as the previous model, but it has been really great buy and is used as a daily driver, really glad I chose it, has outlasted all my friends cars and been far more reliable. As I stated before car is expensive on road tax but my insurance is really cheap so it evens out. It is still great to take on long runs with family providing lots of room for passengers and luggage, quite a rare car now very rarely see another on a journey, driving around town is very easy but can find some problems parking up, although not a long wheel base version it is still a big car and some car parks are a little tricky to use. Mine looks like the car from the Transporter films, So just left everything as I bought it, W12 Alloys and badges etc. Although a V6 3.2fsi you cant really tell the difference. Hope it lasts for many more years as I don't want to change it. only repairs I have done have been a new coolant pipe, Oil pump (very easy to change) water ingress to rear lights has been resolved (common problem through out this model range) and general wear items like brake discs, pads and tyres.

The A8 is comfortable, powerful and a great car. It has 8 point adjustable leather seats and a V8 that delivers power on an air ride suspension. Hard to beat.

I've always been a fan of the Audi A8L and finally found the opportunity to own one. The good news, you can find pre-owned A8's affordably...the bad news for new car buyers, they don't hold there value quite well, but that's good for someone wanting to drive a $100,000 car that 4-5 years old, still looks and performs great for a fraction of the cost. The A8L has the room of a limo in the rear, even with the front seats pushed all the way back. The car feels luxurious inside and out...the materials are top-notch and what I love about Audi is they're not a BMW...even though I love BMW's...it's nice to drive something a little less common. Performance is unbelievable...the 4.0 twin turbo V-8 has tons of torque and pulls hard...you wouldn't think a car this large and this heavy would perform this well. It's an easy car to modify with a performance chip and suddenly there aren't many cars around that will outperform it...and it's a family size sedan! Although it's a large car, it still handles well, not like a sports car, but you won't be sloppy. The ride is luxurious and smooth...it eats up bumps, the air ride is great. Word is that repairing the air suspension is not cheap, but it might just be worth the risk. I love the ride!! Everything is within easy reach, the multi media system is easy to navigate without taking your eyes off the road once you're used to it, which is easy. Heads-up display is easy to see and read. A/C and other accessories are easy to use. The suspension can be adapted to your preference with presets and a custom setting you can do yourself. Interior lighting at night is unbelievable...it's customizable and really sets a cool mood. Stereo sounds amazing with the Bose package, but if you're lucky to get your hands on the B&O you're in for a real treat...it's a $6300 option by itself (which is crazy) I own a A4 Cabriolet, Q5 and I'm happy with all of our Audis. Audi has been tremendous to work with and as a company, they appreciate the owners of their cars, even if you purchased them pre-owned. It's a great company and I'm impressed...not easy to do for me. Thanks Audi for creating this wonderful automobile that has blown my socks off!

As a second owner, bought one as a low-mile estate car coming up on timing belt, tires, and air suspension rebuild. that said, I absolutely LOVE this car. Its not an economical car decision - its one of passion for absurd luxury and road worthiness, in all weather conditions and types of road (except pothole filled roads). Car has an appetite for new parts, but I feed it willingly. Built on the Bentley Flying Spur Chasis, you will even find the Rockwell Space Design logo on the frame from it's high-engineering inception. ALL aluminum. quatro awd that scoffs at super-cell rain and it tames twisty mountain roads like no car Ive ever driven. extremely well footed. This car is sport luxury at its finest. Prior owner spent $120K for the first 60k miles, with a big smile on his face. I do nearly all maintenance/repairs myself now and have gotten over the fear. part prices are higher, but it's worth it. it will ruin you and not only make you critical of a mercedes or any other luxury sedan, it will make their owner even more critical of their other sedan. Im so happy to have bought one of these. Its the finest car purchase decision Ive made. I will put 100K+miles on this and source another one. 2006 was the last timing belt model, dont trust the factory tensioner to go 120K - the belts last longer than the tensioner systems now - including the timing chain systems. List of items repaired: suspension arms - eats uppers every 30K, lowers 70K. air struts, compressor, rear ebrake computer, battery. eats factory rotors but its worth it for the performance, wiring harnesses in headlights have biodegradeble coating that flakes off - but the adaptive system steers light the direction you are turning, its really really good on late night mountain roads or crawling through a neighborhood needing illumination turning into driveways. Soft-close doors are way cool, but you cant get a jealous person to stop from slamming them - a butler is needed to close their door, and it seems fitting to have one for this car. chilly air conditioned seats, heated seats that roast you if needed. heated rear but no AC for passenger rear seats (W12 might), there is no nicer back seat - its a car for newly weds to drive away in, and shows well in wedding day photos. minor gripes - why didnt audi make an audio jack for this car? a bluetooth-FM transmitter is the under-$100 way to stream, but its a pain when travelling long trips due to interference. The MMI bluetooth interface is only for phone - which works well. I hardly ever use the NAV. at 100K/12 years the headliner foam is going out, common. The intake manifold torque plane vacuum pots have an ABS plastic linkage that breaks at 70K, oil changes work best with a vaccum pump from the top. AC pump is on at all times the climate control is on - and you need to top off freon each year - this also lowers fuel economy running that pump. Stereo system is one of the best ive heard - it has fiber optic lines running back and forth from the dash to trunk - they really went overboard on the stereo system -- but left off a 1/8" jack. Only recommended to a friend that can work on their own car or has $20K in reserve for repairs, which a semi-honest shop could consume pretty quickly. The A8L is a car of excess and passion, not economy and penny pinching.

Great full-size luxury car. Great highway mpg 25 to 27 to the gallon. Great power and handling. Very reliable car with recommended maintenance. Highly recommend car great value for the money.

I'm 6'4" 300 lbs and I was looking for a Luxury Vehicle that would make me feel Amazing as my travel/event car. This car hits EVERY MARK. The comfort, massage, heating & cooled seats and just the interior layout is STUNNING and EVERY passenger that has entered my cabin is BLOWN AWAY.

Very good our salesman was excellent. Ed was very good. He was very informative and a big help with the purchase. Finance department was also very helpful.

This car was very comfortable driving as well as the get up and go when needed to get into traffic. I would highly recommended this car to anyone thats looking for the leg room as well as the performance.

V-6 and 333 horses with 325lbs of torque is plenty to push the big around! Messaging seats-dual sunroofs-heated and cooled seats, are you kidding me, I started out in a '59 Chevy BelAir with 2 speed automatic, 283 195 horses, AM radio, no pushbuttons, no seat belts; get the picture?

They are in the midst of expanding their car lot and do not have a structured building. They only have a mobile unit currently on the property so it's a bit disorganized right now. Sales personnel did not seem very friendly but they also aren't pushy which I liked. Most of the cars exteriors were really dirty from a dust storm that occurred a couple of weeks ago. They have a large inventory of vehicle choices.

I've owned 7 series BMW's, Infiniti's, Porsche's, and Mercedes. This car has been by far the nicest car I've ever owned. Fast, comfortable, great ride, with all the bells and whistles a 2005 would have. I did by it used, and it did have some maintenance issues. Luckily most of them where covered by an extended warranty. Would definitely purchase another A8 for sure.

The A8 is very cush and comfortable when you need it and quite sporty when desired. Technology is 2nd to none. A 10 yr old Audi A8's tech is comparable to the nicer new cars available today. It makes a perfect Transporter.

Seems to be a good place to buy my vette from.shouldnt be much longer and I'll have another one.

This car is the best by far I like more then a BMW or Mercedes Benz. I love the feel and the style and handling. This is my second Audi I had a A4 before brought it in Germany while stationed over there. But this A8L takes the cake all of it Good Auto.
