Best driving BMW. Traded in 2013 550i. Torque, acceleration, & handling of new 540 surpasses my old 550. Could use more interior storage. The seats were slightly more Comfortable in my old 550. So far, I'm impressed with the new 540.

A great daily driver that is comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. The tech features are low stress and easy. Always feels ready to reduce stress with spirted driving. Has a way of wrapping around you to feel like a smaller car as you drive and still be large enough to feel safe on a road full of crossovers.

I purchased the 540i xDrive with shadowline package in March 2022. The exterior is absolutely beautiful, The vehicle handles very well. Excellent acceleration. I love the option to be able to switch driving element from economy, comfort or sport. Driver assist works great; even on curves. There’s not much back seat room to move your feet, or if you have big feet, but overall a very comfortable vehicle. I can’t think of any other luxury sedan I’d select over it.

We were on the hunt for a hybrid X5 with the head's up display which was deceptively difficult to find. We live in Brooklyn and called around and finally connected with Vince who informed us he had a hybrid in the queue and helped us build out the car to the exact specifications we wanted. After a not so great experience with a dealership in Westchester, it was a huge relief to have such a pleasant and friendly experience with this team. Build quality is better than most. I have owned the Merc 560 SEL, Jag S Type, XJS V-12, and this out shines them all. Great car. Watch the timing tensioner and cooling system issues.

2003 was the last year for this series, and the 540 M Sport was probably the best balanced option of this series. The 4.4 ltr motor is powerful and bullet proof from this Era. 220,000 miles on these engines before work needs to be done on timing chain guides, then good to go again... they just run great and pull hard. Much more reliable and fun than the "twin power turbo" BMWs that have come and gone from my garage (while the 540 M Sport has stayed.) The 6 speed stick is the way to go. Awesome match up with the motor, and with the performance and solid handling of the M Sport suspension there is no comparison even on the market today. Classic lines... always compliments from other drivers. These cars are fun and are just going up in value. Strongly recommend. More fun than an 80's Porsche 911 stick shift and WAY less maintenance.

Like the car, performance is all I expected, gas mileage is better than I expected, has had couple minor electronic bugs but dealer service excellent.

Excellent performance and comfort. Rides well, quick and responsive. Hate the run flat tires, but other than that it is wonderful. I would suggest the industry not use run flat tires. Seems to have a shorter life and is a major pain if a flat occurs in a rural area.
