Highs: 1. It feels and drives like a BMW: sure-footed, agile, responsive and tight. 2. Materials, fit/finish, and aesthetics are good. 3. Tech is great, I particularly like the heads-up display. 4. All this in a small, practical package with decent storage space in the back. Lows: 1. Run-flat tires are firm and make the ride rough. I replaced mine with standard tires which meant purchasing an aftermarket spare. 2. Standard front seats are too short for anyone over 6'. I purchased one with the sport seats. 3. Ingress/egress is a little tight. 4. Worst glove box ever made; small and designed so that things fall out when opened. Overall, this is a great car IF you're looking for the driving experience of a BMW in a small, efficient package. If you're looking for the cushy ride of a Buick, this may not be for you.

I purchased this car in 2017 it was a high mileage off lease corporate vehicle, 78K miles to be exact. Outside of normal wear and tear, the only issues I've had was/is a gasket somewhere that made smoke on the interior coming through the vents and my amplifier went out on me. The car now has a few miles under 200K and still runs like a dream.

An overall great service experience when ever my out of warranty Lexus needs service. Brakes needed replacement at low mileage (20k). Car hasnt had any other major problems. The auto stop start has been getting a bit rough and I expect to replace the starter sometime soon. Great gas mileage before hitting 100k miles 30 city / 35 highway. After 100k miles I average 23 city / 28 highway. Car has become slightly slower as mileage has gone up but still great performance. This car was floored multiple times everyday of ownership and I averaged 48k miles a year on this car. This little hybrid has been abused and beat daily and is still running great. This car came maxed out with a steep cost of over 50k and depreciation has affected this car heavily due to mileage per year.

The 2024 BMW X1 is nimble and responsive. It has an excellent memory for self-driving the car to back out of tight parking spots along the path the driver used to get into it. The car feels spacious inside and is easy to get into. My observed hwy mileage is 36mpg @ 75mph and 22mpg in suburban driving. It’s defects are: 1) the driver must learn how to start from a stop to avoid a sluggish pick-up or a sudden forward jerk; 2) the owner’s manual does not include directions for setting up the electronics, so the owner must resort to a complex cryptic in-car system that is difficult to sort through; 3) the built-in navigation system's is hard to use; the owner will resort to Waze or Car Play; 4) the car is bumpy on rough surfaces, and vibrates like a massage unit on washboard.

In the past we owned a 2013 328. Loved that car. Purchased this 2019 430i a week ago. It’s basically the exact same car inside as it was in 2013. No real complaints, if it works it works I guess. Car still very comfortable and stylish looking. Handles very well, good power with the 2.0t. Look forward to having this car for years to come

The BMW X1 is easy to handle, powerful, has great acceleration, has a very quiet engine and it offers excellent fuel mileage with mid-grade to high octane fuel. My only criticism is that the X1's ride is harsher than most SUV's. For example, the Subaru Crosstrek, which is essentially similar, has a much smoother ride than the BMW X1. But that's because the X1 has thicker tread, run flat tires instead of a spare tire that the Subaru has. The X1 has superb handling on the highway, but it's equally at home in a city/municipal environment. The interior is easy to understand, and it provides much room to carry groceries and other cargo and the all-around view of the driver is unobstructed. The fully adjustable seating, with memory for two (2) driver is a godsend.
