I purchased this car in 2017 it was a high mileage off lease corporate vehicle, 78K miles to be exact. Outside of normal wear and tear, the only issues I've had was/is a gasket somewhere that made smoke on the interior coming through the vents and my amplifier went out on me. The car now has a few miles under 200K and still runs like a dream.

This is an update from my February 1, 2019 review. I have now owned the vehicle for nearly seven years. I’ve personally driven nearly 20,000 miles in it. The vehicle now has nearly 50,000 miles on the odometer. I purchased it certified pre-owned from a BMW dealership. I have maintained the vehicle to manufacturer specifications. I have only paid for routine maintenance. I have paid for zero repairs. My previous review is confirmed. Full disclosure, two repairs were covered under warranty by the BMW dealership when I purchased the vehicle and one other repair was performed by a different BMW dealership due to their mistake during a routine service.

I've been a BMW fan for many years, and this 428i has not disappointed. It drives and handles just as it should, and the 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is excellent. The seatbelt 'presenters' do not work well, and the door pull handles melt in the Florida heat; other than those two little annoyances, this is an exceptional automobile.

The car shares its Mini Cooper developed chassis with the 1 series, X1 and X2 vehicles. In the M235i format this thing is exceedingly quick with a 0-60 of 4.4 seconds at sea level. The exhaust is playful with constant growls and pops it exudes a more youthful spirit when compared to larger BMWs. The interior is very comfortable and spacious despite the size of the car. The suspension is tight and poised during corners, it is a baby M so don’t expect the soft dampening of standard BMWs. Every time I start this up it pops and bangs, brings a smile to my face. Recaptures the feeling of BMWs from 20 years ago when they were smaller and more driver focused.

My x drive diesel gives me 14.5 - 15km per liter which is exceptional and handles like a sports car. Run flats are hard but not an issue. There seems to be a issue with the engine mountings as both x2 cars I had and have, have had to have them replaced with the new design engine mountings. No major issues.

We purchased a car from Dart Motors for our daughter. We walked in, they let her drive whatever she wanted & were very pleasant to deal with, not like your typical used car salesman that stalks you on the lot. They had no problem with us taking it to our mechanic to have it checked out. It coded on a few items & they repaired those items & even items that we didn’t ask them to fix. They also give a 3 month power train warranty as a bonus as a standard practice. The paperwork process only took an hour. They are wonderful here. They really care & they have some pretty cool cars. 2020 X1 w/sport seats and convenience package, purchased in 2023. Positive notes: It's a true BMW: sure-footed, agile, and no shortage of power when needed. It feels remarkably glued to the road despite its small size. Handles as well as my former 3 series and is just as fun to drive. Storage space is good. Ergonomics are good once you figure out all the technology. Negatives: Ride is a bit bumpy, even for a sporty car, which is apparently caused by the run-flat tires. If I was buying new, I'd get standard tires and a real spare, which fits in the storage space in the back. Sensatec seats are hot. In retrospect, I'd hold out for leather. Overall, I recommend this car if you're looking for something small, practical, full-featured and sporty.

Every one I met here were extremely nice and very welcoming, they answered every question I had and I would definitely recommend this place for vehicle shopping.

This was my first car and i definitely recommend. 1.It is super cute 2.it is small and easily maneuverable and fear of hitting something is low 3. it goes really fast so its easy to get up to right speed quickly. It brakes i would say are a little different at first but once you experiment you get the jist and they are actually very good. Overall I would recommend for the price and its an easy car to operate and goes fast.

I love this car if you drive a long distance I get a whopping 44 miles to a gallon of diesel. Walk away from a major impact action with my first one with only a few scratches. I’m a BMW man forever.

I have had convertibles since 1975. 68 Camaro, 76 Jeep CJ5, 92 Chrysler LeBaron GTS, 96 BMW 328iC, 06 Pontiac Solstice and now the 12 BMW 128i. Retired in 2017 and had to feed the desire for another convertible in 2019 and the 128i ticked all the boxes for my current desires. Fit and reliability. At 6'1" I don't fit into a MX5, so that's the 1st two check offs. RWD, so no Audi, A4 FWD in my price range. Six cylinder preferably straight 6 for perfect engine balance. Nissan 350/370 are ugly chops. Then the exotics(shut up Porsche boys) were too expensive for repairs. I learned "basic" repairs on the E36. I have done many easy maintenance jobs in my garage that allows me to have this Touring car. As a touring car having a back seat is great for a cooler, backpack, and doggy space. With the trunk space (2X) of MX5 this makes a great touring car for weeks on the road. 230hp for a car this small is great for ripping through the Rockies and the Twisted Sisters outside of Fredericksburg of Texas.

Super fast. Very comfortable interior. Simply a pleasure to drive. A couple of annoying caveats about the interior design, specifically the door lock switch being in the center of the dashboard, and the window seals around the driver side and passenger side front windows can leak a little air at high speeds. Those are superficial.

10 years ago I was looking to buy a 2012' M3, V8 aspirated engine. When a pro BMW sales consultant told about M335is with 3.0 L twin turbo and much lighter gvwr that I could turn into an M3 rival without the $78K price tag. Then He told about Steve Dinan the BMW pro engineer that his company builts the performance upgrade for BMW's all over the world. So I end up buying this beautiful 2012' 335is coupe and had BMW install a DINAN Stage 2 computer boost tune upgrade that produced 89 HP increase plus the 320 HP factory stock HP and then added the DINAN Diamond cut Exhaust system along with a DINAN full sport suspension. But I didn't stopped there, then I added a ECS Black steel charge pipe coupled with SYPNAPSE BOV and finally a Carbon fiber ECS cold air intake to make this car a fun little beast to drive. This car is the most fun to drive car that I have ever owned.
