1993 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Base review
Highest mleage vehicle I've ever owned
Got this vehicle used @ 70K miles in 1997. Currently has 185K on it, and nothing has been done other than normal maintenance, tires, belts, hoses and the like. Did have the front end ball joints replaced @ 162K miles, and got 168K miles out of the original shocks. Only real problems were the antenna mast mechanism breaking, so it won't retract, and the rear door window slider pins wearing out. A glass shop tells me he can fix these. Still gets 25+ onthe highway, and about 18.5 in the city. Not bad for a 4500# car with a 350 cube V-8.

It's very big 2 bench seats slot of room a very smooth ride. Not to bad on gas for a v8. I like how the gas tank is behind the license plates very old school.

1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic LS review
Fast and fun, but theft-prone
I have a police version of this car. Dramatically different from the civilian boats with heavy duty everything. The thing handles really well, corners flat and has gobs of torque. I prefer it over the 5 series BMWs (excluding the M5). Seven attempted thefts in the past three years. It makes highway driving effortless. 25mpg on the highway is not bad. G80 posi option is a must for snowy conditions. These cars run over 500,000 miles but the trannys tend to give up every 80,000 miles or so. Look at the upper control arms for corrosion. Cheap to maintain if you're doing it yourself.
