I have had this car for 22 years. I wish it was garaged as it is rusting out and the paint has peeled. It has 235,000 miles on it and still running as of 2024.

My parents bought the 2005 Cavalier sedan 4 door brand new in 2004 and I am driving it today in 2021 with little to no issues. About 215k miles on it. Keep up with oil changes, tires, brakes etc. and you are all set with this car. If you are buying it used, I suggest you always ask for the Carfax and get it checked out by a mechanic first. We had to get the AC fixed at least once over the years but that’s normal for an older car. I bought seat covers and a steering wheel cover for it, because like I said we’ve had it since 2004 and it went through 2 messy kids. Doesn’t do great on the interstate because engine will start to overheat if I go above 65 for more than a few minutes, but no other issue. Has only refused to start twice that I can remember, and those were years ago. Easy jump start. Not the prettiest or most modern car but it sure whips. Paint has began to chip but I heard that that’s a Chevrolet issue from that year. Should’ve gotten a paint job and a modern Bluetooth stereo system, but couldn’t afford it. So I bought a Bluetooth plug-in for the cigarette port so I can charge my phone and play music from my phone, was less than $20. The spare tire that comes with the car is ridiculously small, so maybe get a new one. Great gas mileage and economic value, especially with today’s gas prices! I call her ole reliable, and she’s great on ice, rain, and snow. Huge trunk space for a car that size and comfortably seats 4-5. Great car, has served both my family and myself very well.

I’m only 16, so I was looking for a cheaper car and found this one off a guy down the road, he drove it to Iowa from Texas so it had no rust but we were worried that it wouldn’t start in the winter, even when the temp hit below -20°F it still started everyday!! It has an amazing stereo system and mine has automatic windows. There is not a day I doubt this car it is SO RELIABLE!!!!

Bought my 2000 Cavalier coupe 2.2 with 3 speed automatic brand new off the lot. It had manual windows/locks, am/FM CD, and a rear spoiler which is exactly what I wanted. In the 17 years I owned that car I put 177,000 +/- miles on the original engine/transmission/struts. The only things that ever needed replacing on my car was tires, brakes, a/c compressor, alternator, and probably 4 batteries. A tuneup was done at 100,000 miles - coils & all. Oil changes were done every 3,000 miles with Castrol 5w20, and a valve cover was replaced around 130,000 miles. That was one tough, peppy 2.2 engine. Around 150,000 miles the rear defroster went out and after that it was one thing after another. I finally sold it when it developed a short nobody could find. It is still on the road today - bought by someone with a better mechanic than me and I even visit my old car from time to time.

I've got a 2004 2 door cavalier, shes got about 216000 on her current engine, absolutely love them. wish the engine was stronger, but other than that its a solid little car, glad its my first!

Nick from Bennetts Auto Solutions was amazing. He was very patient with me, there was absolutely zero pressure for me to buy a car from him. He answered all of my questions and replied quickly to all of my text messages. We are about 1500 miles apart so I never actually met him face to face, however, he was always very respectful to me and I believe that he also is completely honest. I recently purchased a truck from SAG Denver, I have had a very positive and professional experience with the sales and service departments. I normally avoid dealerships at all costs, however I came across a beautiful truck that I was having difficulty finding on the private market. I enquired online and was replied to very expediently. I received a no pressure call from a sales person who scheduled an appointment with me. When I arrived, I was greeted and assisted immediately. I test drove the truck with Tracey, who by the way, I highly recommend working with. After driving and inspecting the truck for a bit, I detected what is a common mechanical problem with that type of truck. I brought it up to Tracey and the sales manager Dan and my concerns were immediately acknowledged and validated. Dan did not try to gloss over my concern or argue that there was an issue, instead, he gracefully offered to have the repairs made along with any other contributing or resulting damage as needed. I left the truck with them to begin the repairs, unfortunately it was a bit more involved than originally thought. There ended up being a significant amount of engine work needed, nothing that could have possibly been detectable without opening up the motor. I think most dealerships would have somehow tried to find a way to charge me or unwind the deal rather than proceed with completing all necessary repairs and making the truck run properly. I have several other vehicles so I wasn't by any means inconvenienced, however I did purchase the truck because I had to haul some things for family. After the repairs ran into an extended period of time I did email to express my concerns, I received a call from Dan offering me another truck from their inventory until the repairs were completed on mine. I can't express enough how impressed and pleased I am with the entire experience with Springs Automotive in Denver, I would definitely recommend them and would buy from them again.

I can’t say enough great things about the 02’ cavalier. Mine unfortunately became too unsafe for the road due to the MN winters taking their toll on its body. Salty roads. The perfect all around car for many years of reliability and great mpg. The handling is pretty good for a econo box and the seats were great. Can’t forget about the cup holders in the top of the center console either. I miss it everyday as I learned stick in that car and many milestones happened because of it. The first chance I get, I’m buying another one.

I got this car when I was 16 and it has been great! There are a few details I dislike, mostly cosmetic. The cup holders are very small so only short small drinks fit in them and cups block air controls which gets very annoying. Not extremely comfortable, but good for getting around! As a noob when it comes to mechanics, I really appreciate how easy and cheap it is to replace parts (ex. I replaced the headlights and the sun visors which just pop out). It held all my friends and gets good gas mileage. I also have a natural gas tank as well which was awesome. Unfortunately I got rear ended so it looks like that will be the last of my little Chevy :,( loved it while it lasted though!

I bought this '93 Cavalier RS Wagon about a year ago for my second job. I do alot of running around, and it's good on gas. In the course of one year i've tacked on 60,000mi for my second job, and it's very reliable and very peppy. It's 3.1L V6 makes 140hp and gets it moving very quickly. I would recommend this car to anyone in the market for a low maintnence small peppy car.

My grandma bought a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier brand new in 2002, which she had it up until she passed away, and gave it to my dad. With the story aside, it's been pretty reliable these past 20 years, in fact, I find it impressively reliable. Normally a car would be useless at 5 - 10 years old, but this car was certainly built tougher than modern cars. Design wise, it's ok, but the materials used for the interior and exterior were certainly cheap, considered the fact that the dash cracks within a decade or so and the weather stripping begins to peel off after around 15 years. Exterior styling is pretty ok, especially with the ls sport coupe, with the spoiler in the back. As far as the value for the money, it's pretty ok as well, however, I dislike the lack of effort with the paint job, considering that the clear coat fails fairly quickly and the materials used are, again, cheap. Overall, I give this car a 4.5 rating, It's cheaply made, but it's been put through xxxx with the California heat and the intense UV rays penitrating on the paint job. I truly hope that Chevrolet learned their lesson with this one, because I don't want to one day buy a used car from chevy and soon look at the roof and see the clear coat chipping off or the dash having numerous cracks.

This is a great little car this is my third one. I wish I could find another one. Simple to repair. Reasonably priced. Parts easily available.
