Great vehicle. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. It rides good and has great performance with the 6.2 engine!! For an SUV, it is very quiet.

I was extremely happy with Mathew Johnson (Matty) who helped me with a purchase of a new truck. He was very patient through my many test drives of different vehicles. Very practical can handle almost any task, maintenance is required on these vehicles as is every other car. The 96 tahoe is a reliable vehicle as long as preventative maintenance is performed. I’ve had both the driver and passenger interior door handles break and I’ve owned the truck for a year. It is likely that they were stock and understandable considering theyd be 22 years old. Other problems I’ve had include front end rebuild (ball joints, control arms, etc), ujoints, door lock actuators, window motors. My 96 2 door tahoe currently has 225k and still runs strong.

2019 model year Tahoe purchased brand new from dealership in 2018. I have put almost 50,000 miles on it. In 6 years and 50,000 miles as of April, 2024, I have not had one single issue with it. The only maintenance it has required are the regular oil changes with Mobil 1. Furthermore, I live in the north where they throw salt everywhere in the winter which tends to promote corrosion. There's not a spot of rust on this vehicle's body. there's no paint bubbling from underlying rust either. I do my own oil changes and the underbody has slight surface corrosion here and there but nothing that makes me want to get rid of the vehicle. I am very happy with this vehicle thus far and would not be inclined to trade it in for a newer vehicle at this time, especially since I have 50,000 miles to go on the hundred thousand mile extended warranty provided through the dealership.
