car has a 2.8 engine, I do my own maintenance and service, car is now 24 years old, never failed annual M.O.T. test ,have replaced the sills due to corrosion, only failed me once on the road,loose battery connection. (my fault) very reliable a car that can do long journeys with no problems.

A few concerns to address, the first is ABC active body control is a concern for this car. I own Phone Doctor in Frederick Maryland and hardware tech is my passion so I want to give my feedback. I love the classy lines of the exterior. The interior is equally elegant and tasteful without gaudy disco lights. I was mesmerized into test driving a 2005 SL500 because my daily driver is a 2001 Mercedes s600. The audio system is lackluster, next weakness is the headlights, but the biggest problem is the ABC (active body control) hydraulic suspension. The audio system is disappointing and leaves me feeling flaccid but I’m used to twelve inches of JL systems shimmed into my high school hoopties. The audio system is not the deal-breaker for this $90,000 machine. And the mediocre headlights can be remedied with aftermarket auxiliary lights. The biggest weakness is the high performance suspension system. Mercedes likes to call it ABC (active body control). The hydraulic pump, seals, and mechanical moving parts gets weak and loses its performance anywhere between 80,000 to 150,000 miles. It’ll cost just as much to replace the ABC system than it does to purchase your 2nd hand sl500. If you’re in the market for one make sure you have an extra $20,000 in socked up before you drop your drawers and plop $15k on your first SL500. A dream ride with one last caveat: This car will draw a lot of attention from single ladies!

During my search for my next vehicle I recalled the hassle of buying a vehicle. I read the reviews on Drum Hill website. I was pleasantly impressed. Especially the reviews that mentioned John. I’m a very skeptical person and is cautious what I read especially on someone’s own website. I had already seen a vehicle that I was quite interested in. It was time to test the validity of these reviews. I was treated incredibly well and you could feel that they weren’t doing a song and dance. When I typically ask a car salesman about something on a vehicle, it seemed at time they would be squirming. Not here and especially not with John! I don’t like using an explanation mark but I had to in this case. The most impressive thing was being in the background while he was with a customer. He had zero to hide! He would insist to customers to take the vehicle to the manufacturers and have them inspect it before they buy it. You could tell in his voice that he was truly looking out for your best interest! He has been in the business for some 35 years and his knowledge is impeccable. From a vehicle’s options and what they do. Financing, recalls, different state laws and so much more! You can tell as there is zero hesitation when he speaks. I like you, maybe right now, this does sound to good to be true. Like John would say, “Challenge me and I am 100 % positive, my word is the most important thing to me”. I have one more explanation point left. I say to you “Take my word in believing Auto Hill autos”. It’s a must check before completing your search!

I got my solstice for only $5000 with 36000 original miles on it. Checked car fax and it had oil change less than every 1000 miles by one owner and was barely driven by most owners. I’m the 6 th owner. This car is prestine. I could sell it amd make $8000. But I love it too much to do that. It looks more expensive than it was. It handles and goes around corners like no other. I don’t think it’s possible to roll this car. I do not have a turbo in it, I would just get in trouble. 170 hp 5 speed manual id fine for me. The miles will stay low because I live in tahoe and it’s got to be stored for the winter months. This car turns heads. Downside, if I have a passenger, there’s absolutely no room for anything. It’s not a car I would take on a long road trip unless you were alone. I drive it nice so far just because it’s in such excellent shape. The weight capacity on it is under 400 lbs. so if you’re a big person with a big spouse, the car wouldn’t be practical. I’m 110 lbs and my boyfriend is 200 lbs and that’s about the max load... especially if he has groceries piled on him. Definitely not built for a wider person. If you’re tall the car does have ample leg room and height with the top up. I call it my fun weekend car. That’s what it’s for, for a nice drive on Sunday or to go out and have a showy car on a Friday and Saturday night, maybe a solo shopping trip too. It’s definitely a fiat weather car with the rear wheel drive as well.

I recently purchased a QX60 for my partner and I brought my G37 in for trade-in. This car has 122000 miles on it and has barely even sniffled. I bought my 2003 mb SL500 in 2023 with 30,000 original miles. It runs excellent has a bullet proof engine and design will always be IN vogue cuz of its sleek design. I got all the previous repair receipts from original owner which is great to know the history. As with any 21 yr old car there may be repairs. I have a great MB independent repair shop called Star Motors in Gainesville Fl who really knows these cars and they fix them right and for less than a dealer. Sure thing’s can go wrong and I have found repairs about 25% more than Honda or Toyota. One has to factor in repairs no matter what. I like the 5.0 engine and one thing is they last! They ride so smooth on the wide tires on the highways and there tight steering. Bose sound system still working great afte all these years. Buy one have it inspected if your worried. There in my view great cars. Depreciated a lot since new at $100,000 out the door. So paying 15k to 20k is a bargain. You’ll love it!

My carcwas accidentally sprayed with driveway sealcoat material. The day it happened I stopped into your detail center. The gentleman in the office assured me that Modern Auto Detailing center would do their best to clean up the mess. It was 3 weeks later when I was finally able yo get it done. The team at the detail center went above and beyond to clean my car. They were professional and polite. They explained and showed me the areas of the car they weren't able to clean . After 20 years of dreaming, I found my Egyptian Sand Pearl ‘03 beauty with 142910 original miles. Got most of its records and it had great care! I have changed all the fluids and timing belt water-pump Tensioner, thermostat, hoses & radiator to drive everyday in the summer and fall! Mileage on super has been 19.8 to 22 mpg mostly city driving ! It has been nothing short of a fantastic cruiser! Make sure you do the tb and wp every 9 yrs or 90000 miles and the engine will be bulletproof.

2024 Stingray Z51 Convertible. Great buying experience and no issues in 7 months and 5K miles. Great features and and runs great with better than expected fuel mileage. Just a couple Cons - Run flat summer tires are somewhat noisy and not offered with adaptive cruise.

Absolutely love it, just got a California special at age 16, and man isn't it beautiful, day and night I can't stop loving that car.

I had my 2004 for 10 years. Great car and performance. At 6'2" the C5 provides me with comfort which its predecessors do not. Only issues have been the ignition switch a common problem which I changed out fairly easily, and the climate control lighting which I fixed by resoldering the board.

My 2005 sl has been nothing but great! The inerior is just about perfect, and the exterior shines better than new. ONE notoriours problem is with the leveling system. Mine as others started to sink to the left when garaged..yikes! I was quoted around $3500 to fix it, but I found a great mechanic to do this for $800 including other maintenence. Thus car handles like a dream. Top up or down, it has great appeal and I cant tell you with way Iike it best. You can steal one of these cheap too..but make sure the owner kept it nice! My interior is perfect, yet Ive seen others quite shabby.

I upgraded to the 2020 Z4 M40i after having a 2006 Z4 3.0i. The exterior styling and sound gets looks and complements at least once a day when driving. The interior is modern and has lots of the most up to date technology, although I wish less plastic was used. It drives awesome, and I am very pleased with the car.
