I made contact with a list of cars I was interested in from the website. When I arrived, all cars were ready for test drive and review. 2016 BMW 228i xdrive convertible. The best part: reliability. We are approaching 94k miles and we've had no issues with this car. It feels solid, which is remarkable for a convertible. Everything works just as it should with just routine maintenance. I have only three complaints: the sport seats are my number one complaint. The seat has great lumbar support and is supportive, but the side bolsters on the seat cushion are rock hard and hurt my hips. I have to use a pad to raise myself up a little to ease the pain. The 2nd complaint, and this is worth noting, in comfort mode the throttle can be slow to react. This is so bad it got me rear ended once because the car simply did nothing for several seconds when I pressed the pedal down. Sport mode cures this. Lastly, it requires premium gas. Ford and others get similar horsepower results with regular gas, so I think BMW should be able to also.

While getting groceries out of my car, My trunk came down on my head (C-300, 2017). Sometimes trunk opens after I lock the car. This is dangerous. What is the problem?

Super v8 performance with the 6 speed manual. Great looking, and lot's of fun with the top down. Recommend to anyone at any age. Surprisingly comfortable on the road. Not great visibility with the top up and very little o back seat room or trunk room, but it's pretty easy to overlook those minor details. Would recommend everyone get the dual mode exhaust feature - you can change sound from sport (sounds like a race car) to touring (sounds like a buick v6). Took forever to get my 2023 (2022 order got canceled), but it was worth the wait. You'll get a lot of car for the price.

I’ve had this 2009 sport wagon since 2016. Bought it with 68k miles. It’s now at 118k miles. Plan on $1500-$2000/year for maintenance and I think it will easily go 200k miles. Fast enough, good handling, doesn’t attract police. My Best Buy.

Outstanding quality and extremely comfortable and quite Grand Touring car. So far no reliability issues, and just normal scheduled maintenance, fluid changes at the recommended intervals, and brake pads and tires so far at 62k mlles.

I have had convertibles since 1975. 68 Camaro, 76 Jeep CJ5, 92 Chrysler LeBaron GTS, 96 BMW 328iC, 06 Pontiac Solstice and now the 12 BMW 128i. Retired in 2017 and had to feed the desire for another convertible in 2019 and the 128i ticked all the boxes for my current desires. Fit and reliability. At 6'1" I don't fit into a MX5, so that's the 1st two check offs. RWD, so no Audi, A4 FWD in my price range. Six cylinder preferably straight 6 for perfect engine balance. Nissan 350/370 are ugly chops. Then the exotics(shut up Porsche boys) were too expensive for repairs. I learned "basic" repairs on the E36. I have done many easy maintenance jobs in my garage that allows me to have this Touring car. As a touring car having a back seat is great for a cooler, backpack, and doggy space. With the trunk space (2X) of MX5 this makes a great touring car for weeks on the road. 230hp for a car this small is great for ripping through the Rockies and the Twisted Sisters outside of Fredericksburg of Texas.
