My husband and I are self-employed architects; we made most of our income from buying, renovating and selling houses in Virginia. In 2022 we had our first child. Lost income from clients who could no longer pay, plummeting real-estate values and a non-existent job market for architects left us with virtually no income for four years. We used our credit cards and savings, my 401k, sold our home at a huge loss, all with the idea that the market had to pick up soon and we would then be able to pay off our debts without filing for bankruptcy. We were terrified of bankruptcy because we depended on being able to get a mortgage to finance home purchases and renovations, our main source of income. In retrospect not filing was a mistake, the market never recovered in time for us and we accumulated a massive amount of credit card debt which we could not pay, somewhere around $50-60,000. Much of this has been charged off or we negotiated settlements; however we have two judgements, Amex for $1136 and Chase for $8566, which I tried to settle, and a Citibank account that was bought by Asset Acceptance, original balance of $16,166 now pumped up to $26,340. I purchased my 2005 Dodge Neon SXT with 140,000 miles on it, and now it has just over 178,000 and still going strong. I replaced the engine mounts,btires, and fluids, and it hasn't given me any other problems. I did have to bypass the heater core, but have plans on replacing it, but I'm in no rush, because I live in Southern Georgia where the weather isn't so cold. It's a peppy little car, and is excellent on gas. Mine is still in excellent condition inside and out.

Great little performance compact car! not a family car.suspension is little stiff.Runs strong and many aftermarket performance parts available.Most of these cars have been abused mine has not! If you have 1 get a Diablo sport,highly recommended..reliable 2.4L turbo engine runs strong..just R&R the timing belt at 65-75k miles,waterpump also.Very important! Of course the oil changes too.This neon likes the 3in exhaust also with the AEM intake! I still get 26-28 mpg on freeway! Fun car to drive.I think these cars are getting more rare as time goes on!

Bought the SE version used with 45,000 miles in 2007. With a 5 speed manual, it has been a reliable car. Had to replace the engine rubber mounts after over 130,000 miles. It even survived recently being driven in flooded streets (car floated for awhile) and was able to be recovered after being dried out. It is still being driven today.

A ton of inventory with excellent prices and excellent staff. They had quite a few options fitting what I was looking for with great prices! Will be back for my next one.

Overall love this car, decided to sell her after 14 years and 190000 miles. Our beginning was actually the most inconvenient and she became most reliable as she aged. After having the manufacturer fix her weak spots, she was good, with only minor maintenance over the years. Great on gas, fun to drive (5 speed), super cute/sporty (added low pro tires, tinted windows, painted break calipers, fogged rear lights, and hood bra). I lived with her all across the states (west coast to east coast). She has good get up and go, but compared to the new ones, would like to see more. Today as I am finding her a new home, I see her as a teenagers first car or a families get around low cost car.
