I bought this truck because I own another one that I have slowly built to look the way I want, and I am using this second truck for parts to continue building my main one. I found this truck for a very cheap price of only $300, and when I bought it, it ran and drove well. The closest competitors are Ford, Chevy, Nissan, and Toyota half-ton pickup trucks. In my opinion, Dodges look much better than their competitors and are just as reliable. I recommend this truck because the engine is very dependable, and the body is all metal, making it more durable. These trucks were designed to be workhorses, and it shows; they also have the power to keep up with highway traffic. I've never had any major issues with these trucks; I even wrecked my truck going 70 MPH, and I only had to replace the front end. These trucks are very, very durable and reliable. Only problem iam having is the power steering is spraying all over my engine and can't find the leak because it's all soaked and it's a small block so ia guessing a 318 or maybe a 360 throttle body I think tiny extended cab can't sit behind it it's a shorted 4speed with granny 16 inch wheels with stock beautyrings just got it so don't no much yet it's clean want to trade for motorcycle

I bought this truck brand NEW, I now have 362,000 miles on her and she is still running great. My only repairs were a shaft in the transfer case and new bushings in the rear suspension. . I am planning on replacing the front struts and I am thinking about 3/4 ton leaf springs. Why ? Because the truck is used as a truck not a family sedan. I bought this 1998 ram 1500 ext cab 4 years ago from a neighbor because he could not keep it running. Paid 500.00 before even opening the hood. ? I've always been a back yard wrenger, check the abveois, I tightened both battery post clamps and it's ran great ever since besides the few regular maintenance issues. Heater sucks especially if you live in ND as I do, today's temp -18 w/wind-chill. What a fantastic truck. This truck just does everything right . Mine is a 5.7 Hemi that sounds incredible. Power is very good, although not as strong or fast as my 2014 5.0 F150. Roomy and comfortable and smooth as silk on the road. However since the 5.7 hemi screams with testosterone building induction and exhaust noise, it's loud. If you don't like a powerful sounding vehicles look elsewhere. Otherwise go find one and buy it !!!! i

Great truck had several accidents in it worse was at 60 -70 on hiway i hit the concrete devider. Only bent bumper in a lil. I had to pull out the bump a lil so wheel wouldnt rub. Still drive like a champ.

I purchased my truck in 2005, had 92,000 miles on it. Still driving it today with 253,000 miles on it. Doesn't use any oil between changes. I have all the scheduled maintenance done when it's time. I live in Arkansas, wouldn't be afraid to get in my Dodge and drive to New York in it. The only complaint I have is that the dash is starting to crack really back and pieces of it is falling out. I love this truck!

I got this truck with the 5.7L when I got my license with 220,000 miles on it drove it for a years and got it to 280,000 miles before selling it. And I gotta say, I really miss this truck, never broke down on me, took a few trips to Cali and back from AZ and did amazingly. Only major repairs were the crank shaft positioning sensor which gave out around 270,000 and the fuel pump which went out around 250,000. I would highly recommend this truck. I’m looking to get another one myself

One of the best trucks I've ever owned. Only problem is the dash is completely falling apart. $2500. To replace. Dodge should come up with an affordable fix. Way too many vehicles are affected.
