I bought this truck brand NEW, I now have 362,000 miles on her and she is still running great. My only repairs were a shaft in the transfer case and new bushings in the rear suspension. . I am planning on replacing the front struts and I am thinking about 3/4 ton leaf springs. Why ? Because the truck is used as a truck not a family sedan. But I can see why people use it as a family sedan. Rides like one. . I will never sell this truck. Best truck I ever owned ! Thank you Diamler Chrysler. Awesome truck.

Purchased used for $1500 to using as a fishing truck about a decade ago, but we can’t kill it! About to roll 200,000 miles and haven’t spent a dime on anything more than routine maintenance. Heater is weak, A/C is strong, and the seats are as comfortable as any truck. The V-6 isn’t strong but gets respectable fuel mileage. Best served with a manual transmission.

To me these reviews all sound like everyone wants what they want this is a business that’s selling used cars a tip to help new buyers. You are given a 500 mile or 15 day warranty take the car you buy down to the original dealership or any mechanic have them do a over all inspection if anything is wrong with the car that the warranty covers take it back to the place you bought it from and they are legally obligated to fix it at their expense not yours because it falls under the warranty also make sure you buy GAP INSURANCE AND ANY OTHER EXTENDED WARRANTIES REMEMBER THIS IS YOUR MONEY AND INVESTMENT!!!!! This truck was my friend for four years until I traded it in om a fullsize RAM. It was a true workhorse. I used it as a daily commuter, family vehicle, cargo hauler, and as a tow vehicle and it did it all well. Ride could be better but, let's face it it's a truck. I truly love the design, I feel it's an attractive looking truck. Interior design looks a little cheap, but it's thought out well and I was always using the fold-flat crates under the back seats. I traded it in because I needed a larger back seat as kids are getting bigger, and because it's one flaw is the power (or lack there of) of the V6 engine. Hot day with the A/C cranked up and a full load of passengers and you can feel a big drop in performance.

I purchased my truck new on Dec 31, 2002. It is an 03 crew cab, short box, Cummins HO, 6 speed manual. I still own it today with 315,000 miles very few repairs, oil change every 5K, 3 front end rebuilds, one water pump, a fan clutch, a new drivers seat pad and bottom cover, and a steering gear box. Surprisingly enough, I still have factory injectors. Absolutely the best truck I have ever owned BY FAR. Still gets up to 27 MPG and can pull just about anything you hook onto it. still looks new inside and out. I recently converted it to a dually to make it even more stable pulling my fifth wheel. Seems to be worth more today than what I paid for it 20 years ago.

The stereo system is great, ride is smooth, great visibility, plenty of interior room , love the paint color, plenty of power , great braking ability and self parking is a great option

I love my Dakota! They can pull more than what they are rated for, the 3.9L V6 sounds great, they are tough, and it's never left me stranded, the interior is simple and comfortable, it has some cool fetures for its age like a built in engine light decoder, and Cruze control that adapts to hills, and it has never needed major engine work. The one drawback is it has poor fuel economy around 16MPG, notorious for rust, and the automatic are reportedly very flaky (idk how bad I got the 5 speed NV3500). Overall Its a great truck and can make a great first vehicle!

I have always been a Chevy guy. Till my Chevy caught on fire 2000 miles from home. Needed to replace it in Texas and found this 2005 Dodge Ram quad cab Hemi. Im sure I paid too much for it but I was stuck and needed to tow my trailer cross country. The 5.7 Hemi with over 200 K pulled that trailer like it wasnt even there. What a BEAR this thing is for towing. Interior very nice and roomy. I slept in the back seat comfortably. Steering rack had been replaced at 150K so thats excellent. With 240K on it now, I have only had to do maintenance like brakes and ball joints. Only complaint Ive had is the drivers seat material is very week and falling apart. I highly recommend this Hemi Ram thats for sure.

Great truck had several accidents in it worse was at 60 -70 on hiway i hit the concrete devider. Only bent bumper in a lil. I had to pull out the bump a lil so wheel wouldnt rub. Still drive like a champ.

This my 2nd Dodge Dakota, I would recommend another one to anyone who wants manual truck. My 1st was 1997 Dodge Dakota, I actually prefer the 97 style to the 2006 model, this year would make my truck 26 yrs old. Still on the road, just has a few maintenance issues, still planning on keeping my 97, gonna put it in the shop for some TLC. I guess what I am trying to say is that the Dodge corporation made one xxxx of a truck, I believe that if the 2006 last as long as my 97, then this will be my last truck. Nothing better than shifting gears with the windows rolled down, going 60 mph.
