1995 Ford Contour GL review

I had a manual contour in high school and I loved it. It was fun to drive and fairly reliable. I bought it used with 300,000 ish miles on it. It had it's problems when I got it. I had to replace the alternator twice in the first 3 months I had it. Nobody could seem to tell me why, but I didn't have to do it again in the 3 years I owned it. Aside from that, I had no real issues other than a cracked oil pan. By the time I got rid of it, it was nearing 390,000 miles.

This car has a very good and reliable Ztec 2.0 L engine, and very comfortable ride, good for commuting and long distance drive. Very economical with 30-35 mpg.

I bought my Ford Contour SVT for about $1,000 and it was a steal. I learned how to drive manual in this vehicle. This car was the best front wheel drive vehicle for the winter with or without decent tires. The exterior looked newer than a 1998 in my opinion and a few friends of mine, for sure ahead of its time. Quick, easy, and fairly cheap maintenance on this vehicle. This was the best first car and I definitely got my moneys worth. The contour was replaced by the Ford Focus which is just as an amazing car! Highly recommend used Contour SVT and the Ford Focus.
