Used Ford Explorer XLT for sale near Hockessin, DE

Abby and Shawn in service were excellent. They both were patient with all my questions, provided credible answers, and, upon our approval of the repairs, had them done within 24-hours. They went the extra mile to have the car test-driven both before (to confirm our reported symptoms) and after the repair (to confirm problems had been resolved). I purchased the 2022 Timberline preowned about 1 month ago with appx 50k miles on it. I was disappointed that it does not have memory seats or a garage door remote button. (I didn't even notice this when test driving it). Who makes a car today with all the tech this car has and leaves off these 2 things! The interior is comfortable & well laid out. The ride is smooth & quiet. 2.3L turbo 4 cylinder is quiet & has amazing power. At idle it’s hard to tell that the engine is even running. The prior owner put on Michelin tires which contribute to the smooth, quiet ride. The seats are ActiveX (Ford’s name for vinyl) with cloth inserts. I’m 5’ 10” and 175lbs. My son who rode with me is 6’ 3” and 250lbs. Both of us found the seats comfortable & supportive on our 1st road trip. I’ve driven a Kia Telluride, which is a direct competitor. The Kia has a little more tech but I found the ride to be on the harsh side, especially in the second row. This may be attributable to the low profile 21” tires. The Timberline has 18” balloon tires which I much prefer. 2 weeks after purchasing it I made a 2,200-mile road trip from Dallas TX to Orgon. Fuel mileage ranged from 21 to 28 with an overall average of 24 mpg. *if I don’t drive over 70 mph on the highway the fuel economy goes up to about 32! *these numbers are from the actual miles & gallons of fuel used, not from the dash numbers, which I found are a little optimistic. It has a few bugs that I’ll have to deal with, but it’s a used Ford & not a Lexus. Overall, I'd say I'm very happy with this car & would recommend it.

I love this vehicle. My 2022 Ford Explorer XLT far exceeds my expectations. Handling is great. Performance is far better than expected. Gas mileage is 26mpg combined average for the 16,500 miles I have on the vehicle so far. The interior fit and finish could be better and the original tires...not holding up very well. The vehicle is comfortable and always a pleasure to drive. I always get compliments on the exterior style. In my opinion, it's one of the better looking SUV's on the road. The rear biased drive train give it superior handling, better than anything I test drove. Chevy, Subaru, or the Kia.

I went in looking for a used car, was introduced to Martin, I must say he was a gem to deal with, picked the car out on Fri, there was a little problem, Martin told me to pick the car up on Monday, when i got there i saw some long scratches that i missed, Martin had them taken care of immediately, He did a follow up after i got the car, but the most impressive thing was my car was state to have Bluetooth, it did not, Martin and his manager Jorge made it happen, an appt was made and i got it. I highly recommend this co and Martin , thank you, thank you,thank you. PS it was not a long process.

I am happy with everything about my explorer. Get good gas mileage and is very comfortable ride. Traded my 2020 for this 2022. Love the color and have gotten lots of compliments.

Went to the Pacifico Ford dealer in Broomall. They said they will not work on any vehicles that are 15 years or older. I went to Matthews Paoli Ford and had them work on my 2005 Ford excursion. I didn’t know that good mechanics existed like they have over there what a wonderful place it cost money but it’s worth it! The diesel mechanic there Christopher is unbelievably knowledgeable and good. Had a great experience. Had my Truck worker on over there and have had zero problems. Best car I’ve ever owned. Does everything I want//need it to do. Always starts in the morning. I’ve been camping with it and slept inside the car. Plenty of room

Not sure my review went through so writing it again. Wonderful service experience. Was on a trip in our Camper Van from MA to FL when a CV joint failed. Justin took us in first thing the next morning, confirmed the problem, and had us on the road by noon. I could be more impressed by how well we were treated.

Wife's car ,working at home not many miles low 20k as of2024 June. Still I wonder about trans fluid because of time. Problem that bugs me is the radio. Static in AM off and on ,and of course the business station 1220am about the market. UGH!! Third lease of explorer, so low in miles ,made it a purchase. 🤞👍

The CarShop employees are the best! Again I needed help right away, this time with a passenger side mirror being almost pulled off. Morgan, the customer service tech & his manager Bill had a mechanic take a look to see what could be done & because the mirror was not totally pulled off & the wires were intact they were able to glue the mirror back onto the mirror perch mount & never even charged me. Have only had vehicle for 3 weeks but really like it. I’ve had F150’s for the past 12 years and thought I’d miss my truck, but I’m really enjoying this explorer. It’s more comfortable and fun to drive and the gas mileage is better.

I’ve had my share of crap with dealerships. I had the pleasure of working with a very patient knowledgeable salesman “John” at this location. He helped me locate the vehicle I wanted in a timely manner. It arrived and was taken care of the entire process. I received fair market value for my trade. There was no need to haggle just sign and drive. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a quality used car. This vehicle is almost new. That’s because carmax cares about what they sell. If you know your price ahead of time this is your place. They got me out the door in less than 2 hrs. Those of you who have purchased cars that could be an all day affair. Everyone was friendly . I can’t say enough good things. There’s no dealership that could compare to carmax. This place met my expectations.

I love my ST all except for seating. I’m just not a fan of European style seating soo we had an upholstery shop up grade them. Sooo much fun to drive! Great gas mileage considering I’m a lead foot. And when needed you can put a full 4x8 sheet of plywood in the back.

The first vehicle I purchased was from Allentown... There was a major electrical issues with the car so I returned it after a few days.. Another words it was a lemon.. So anyway I saw a car at Plymouth meeting that I liked... The process was easy and smooth they explained everything to me.. I love my new Nissan.. The only thing negative I have to say is they left me with less than a quarter of a tank of gas... I drove 55 Minutes to get this vehicle.. Quarter of a tank of gas will take me a couple blocks... When I purchase my other car at Allentown they filled my tank because I was returning customer and they told me the policy was half a tank... Plymouth meeting wouldn't even give me a half a tank of gas... Very very poor service very very poor management whoever made that up that your let with quarter tank of gas...That is ridiculous... Including myself I have bought two other family members there to buy cars that's awful for returning customer

2017 Ford Explorer. I love my car. It runs great but I have had battery problem and trim has blown off my car on freeway. Have not had a lot of problems with it.

Went in to just find out some prices. Salesman located a truck that meet my needs and price range and had it ready for Me the next day. Can?t say enough good things about them.

Na'eem was great! I came in to look at a 2013 Ford Fusion and he was helpful, knowledgeable and fair. They had just gotten the car in so hadn't had a chance to detail yet. We purchased that day and he made sure the car got cleaned up the way it should be, even thought the sale was already done!

Quiet, comfortable and powerful car. I have the twin turbo that puts out 400 hp. General gas mileage is 19-20 city and 24-25 highway. The only thing that I would change on this vehicle is that I would like to be able to turn off some of the automatic operations on a semi-permanent basis.

This is the first explorer that I have owned in nearly 30 years. I am coming from a ram 1500. I am surprised how comfortable this explorer is I’m really enjoying the gas mileage between 21 to 23 in town. I have not taken a trip on the highway yet.

This is my fourth Explorer. I decided in 2018 to order the top-of-the-line Platinum. This vehicle has all the bells and whistles for a person that wants the luxury of one of Fords top models. It has Platinum leather seats that are very comfortable. If you can find today, buy it. It has the 3.5L V6 that has great power on acceleration. You can only buy a V6 now on the 2025 Explorer ST which is a 3.0L. The cost is around $60,000 Loaded.

Best Ford, other than a pickup, I've ever owned. Minor issues and recalls. All fixed or checked expertly here in Woodbridge VA. Only 80,000 miles. All highway. Tows a trailer perfectly straight. 4X4 with tow package. Getting ready to sell. Nobody else in the house to use it ! Lol

Communication was great. They sent additional videos of the car and when asked about any cosmetic defects were completely honest and showed them in the video. Also discussed their detailer that comes on Thursdays. Didn’t end up purchasing from them but they were very good to deal with.
