Used Ford Explorer Sport Trac trucks for sale near Armour, SD

I am writing this review because of the exceptional experience I received at this dealership. I was in the market for a new truck, new to me and my family. I was introduced to my salesman, Mason Slinger, who i actually meet online and then set an appointment to look at a vehicle. That vehicle did not work out, but Mason and his team there with the used cars, was very patient and thorough when it came to the needs of me and my family. We looked at multiple vehicles, over many weeks and a couple of months until all the planets aligned and everything worked out. My salesman, mason was excellent, the finance people were amazing to be able to put the deal together, within a budget that worked for me. After the actual purchase, i took the vehicle home and noticed some issues with vents that did not work properly so i took pictures and sent them to my salesman and asked him if there was anything he could do. They actually ordered all new ones, no cost to me, and this was not even on the "WE OWE" paperwork. We set an appointment, and I brought my truck there and everything was fixed. I am a 22 year retired Army Veteran, who has traveled all over this country. I have bought vehicle at over 50 different dealerships in multiple different States around the country. It is safe to say that I have never had such a great experience as I did here at Grand Junction Jeep Chrystler Dodge. From the Salesman to the finance, to the service tech who put in my new vents. Everyone i meet, saw, or came in contact with was just happy and professional. In a world where i thought customer service was lost, this establishment restored my hope that all is not lost. They have built a great culture and environment and from what i have seen and experienced a place where people actually want to go to work and are happy with their job. Now I am going to start this out by saying I am not a Ford guy. My family always used Honda because of there unmatched reliability, so I had grown fond of Honda. But I got my first sport trac when I was 16, and anybody who was a teenager and had a vehicle would know you would have some fun with it. When I tell you I stress tested the Sport Trac, I really did. Everything from offroading, had pulled upto 3,000 lbs worth of scrap metal a few times(dont do that tho, was very dangerous, bent bumper ball), and general use and abuse of the vehicle. And at no point did I ever have a real complaint. Its engine had never given me a single issue, and I got it already with about 178k miles. Biggest issue with it was rust, but the engine is a BEAST. Its poor gas mileage makes up for the fact that its engine, in my opinion, is one of THEE best Ford had made in awhile. It was designed in like the 60s and it showed. The truck overall is really comfortable to drive in. Its GREAT in bad weather if you have 4WD or weight in the bed, legit have pulled out Jeeps and other supposed "Off-Roading" Vehicles when mud or snow hindered them, it is honestly a vehicle I'd feel safe driving through a Hurricane with. Its reliability is truly unmatched. I have heard other say its ok, and it may just be a flip of a coin or that half were made in one factory and the other in another factory, but I am on my second Sport Trac, only because my previous one had too much rust to pass. The only reason I hold its reliability to such high regard is because I beat the snot out of my little sport trac and it always got back up without an issue. From scrapping metal with it to just being a teenager and taking it offroading where it certainly shouldnt be able to go. I could go on about how much I love this truck, I may be biased due to it being my first car, but I wouldn't hold it in such high regard if it didnt get me through every snowstorm, mud ditch, big stream, and hot summer day hauling metal, all without any issue or hesitation. I couldn't recommend any other first car than the sport trac. Because it will keep you or your kid safe, both when they are using it normally, as well as when they be teenagers with it. My only issue with it was the fact it had a bumper ball, and that its bed was a bit short for hauling metal. But it makes you a master packer with ratchet straps. 10/10, would recommend it, especially as a first car.

After driving the Chevy and several others, the Sorento EX V6 was by far the best value for my money. It is solidly built, quiet, and smooth. The ride is like a Lexus and it handles almost like a sedan. It's just the right size, has very comfortable seats and is loaded with technology!

203K miles and I have done next to nothing to my Sport Trac outside of regular maintenance. I wish Ford still made this truck, I have a 4X4,

This sport trac is a limited with a 4.6 V8 engine. It is very powerful and handles like a sports car. Lots of room for its size. It's quiet and smooth on the road. The bed is made of a combination of plastics and fiber reinforced type plastic. So it will never rust out. Which makes it great for hauling pool salt and animal feed, or anything that can ruin metal even if it has a bed liner in it. My truck has 193k miles. Original engine and transmission going strong. It has some of Ford's known issues, like hard to remove sleeve spark plugs and 2 exhaust manifold bolts broke. Not hard to repair but had to be done. Some 4.6 and 5.4 engines never had this issue. I would definitely buy another sport trac with the v8.

Im in the market for a 2010 explorer ST( sport trac ) . I had a 2007 and it was a tank. Loved it, pulling a 12 foot trailer full of logs and branches with no problems . V6 is powerful enough to tow anything you will need. It’s roomy and stylish. Love them !!

Runs great, plenty of power. Has a good look too. Plenty of room , front and back seats. Really like the rear electric window. Highly recommend this vehicle.

Overall a great truck. Outstanding performance and comfort in a very reliable truck. However the paint hasn't held up over the years on the edges of the hood & roof side seems.Not happy with the clear coat and trim. Still an awesome daily driver.

Lots of options in all price ranges . Easy to sit in/test drive cars. Tim was great and no pressure sales. Will recommend and go back. Clean bathroom for customers. Air conditioning inside. Easy to get to off Cook road, the (hwy) 9 or the (hwy) 20. Local & around since the 80's.

I bought my 2002 Sport Trac in 2014. It already had 150K miles in it. Now, 8 years later it has 315K and it runs like a champ. It got a bone yard tranny in 2017. Other than that, just maintenance stuff (oil, tires, brakes, alternator, water pump, tie rod ends).

I have the Adrenalin model of Sport Trac, that up to this day has been reliable. The exterior design is one get I get a lot of stares and compliments, as it is a visually a very rare model. Interior is good but not great, premium stereo is not good at all! Mechanically speaking, is just on par with an econobox car, but gas thirst is huge with the V8! Acceleration is below par for V8’s size and rating. Transmission shift smooth with the occasional bump in lower gears now and then. All in all, it’s an ok vehicle but I wouldn’t recommend for longer trips, due to marginal power, and fuel guzzling habits!

I have a 2008 sport trac xlt. The drive shaft in it is not the one available to buy. I need a drive shaft with the clynder end that goes into the transmission.

I have a 2007 Explorer Sport Trac limited and it has been one of the best vehicles I've ever owned it's also the first truck I've ever owned . The Sport Trac has done everything I needed it to do with ease that it's hard to remember how life was without it. I've used it during hurricane season to bring large heavy lumber home to cover up the windows and doors, it has towed lawn mowing equipment, towed paint equipment and with only 2wd it has taken me offroad when I've needed it too. Thus far I'm getting 16mpg on average which is awesome considering I do have a heavy foot and it has heavy A/T tires. What I truly appreciate the Sport Trac for is how comfortable it is to live with, its absolutely quiet and smooth on any surface thanks to the IRS, the Mustang GT derived V8 is very quiet, silky smooth and well behaved and only let's its presence known when you get on it and you hear it roar. Only issues ive had with my Sport Trac was the radiator had a small leak and the fan clutch got stuck while driving so they needed to be replaced but luckily both times the truck didn't over heat and didnt leave me stranded. Spark plugs on these 3v 4.6 engines are a real hassle so make sure to prepare yourself before replacing them. Broken exhaust manifold studs are a common issue that is somewhat difficult to fix but luckily it's harmless if left broken, mine have been broken for over a year now and the only issue I have is ticking at cold start that goes away after 30sec. Oil changes must be done every 5,000 miles, the cam phasers on the 3v 4.6 are very sensitive to changes in oil pressure, dirty oil and varnish so using synthetic oil and changing it every 5k miles insures a clean engine and long service life, also only use the Motorcraft oil filter since they are made for oil pressure sensitive engines like the 4.6 3V. Overall I highly recommend this vehicle to anybody looking for a small truck to daily around, it literally can do everything you need it too just remembered to service it and it will treat you great.

I got this little truck so that my wife could drive it and wanted to make sure it fit into any garage. The F-150 was too big. The ST has turned out to be the coolest vehicle I've ever had. I've had it all over the country.....off-road, mud, snow, cross-country travels towing and being towed since I had the 4WD Neutral Transfer function (an initially 'hidden' feature) enabled for 4-down towing as motorhome dingy. Clearly my most useful vehicle. Luv it!

These guys have been in business forever, and they are one of the few garages in the area that is certified to do state emissions testing. It looks like a bunch of the other dealers in the area bring their cars there for service too. So why not just cut out the middleman? All their cars look great, and I would totally buy from them!

I've loved these trucks since they came out and finally bought one.Not to big,gas mileage is ok.love the performance of it...this is the one I'm hanging on to. I had a 2002 windstar and it had almost 200,000 miles on it after having it for 13 years traded it in for the sport trac and as much as I miss it(my boys grew up in it) I dont regret it. LOVE MY TRUCK!...and will hang on to it for longer then 13 years

It’s like a truck and SUV crossover. Unless you need a huge truck bed this is a great truck. Very comfortable inside. Great performance. Smooth ride.

Bought my 2001 Sport Trac shortly after they came out. Great SUV/Truck. Keep it until 2010 with 128,000 miles and traded it in on a used 2010 Sport Trac Adrenaline Package. I still have it with 89000 miles. Will definitely buy a New one as soon as they bring them back out.
