I was searching for a specific vehicle and I found a few on cars.com. 2020 F-150 Super Cab 2.7L Ecoboost, 10 speed transmission. At first I was concerned since I've never had a truck with a small V6. I was looking for good HP and good MPG. I liked the sporty trim STX look. Great acceleration and great MPG. Much better than my previous 2006 F-150 5.4L, which was a great truck, but it was time for a change. I do recommend this vehicle if you want MPG, power, and great towing capacity.

I bought this truck used from Long-Lewis in Hoover, Alabama, in July 2025. I like the performance, gas mileage, and drive modes of the 3.5 Liter Twin Turbo with 10 Speed transmission. Lots of interior space, lots of interior and exterior lighting in the right places.

Went through the Quick Lane and had my oil changed. I didn't have an appointment but they still serviced my car. The guy at the desk was very courteous and showed me where I could sit and wait. I was in and out in just under an hour.

Great truck, I have no issues with this truck. Occasionally the Snyc screen freezes up. Acceleration is excellent. Highway MPG is 23 Local is around 12 mpg. Mixed City Highway is 15 mpg

Very dependable, Very useful, and Very Fun to own. This truck is at 206,000 miles and everything still works as the day I bought it. I could not express how much I love it. It has the 3.5 ecoboost twin turbo engine and the fx4 luxury package it eats dodges and craps on chevy. Please note that if you currently have the 3.5 Eco boost or 2.7 Eco boost to change oil every 3 to 4k due to the high temp your oil gets because you have turbos the 5.0 v8 doesn't have turbos btw

My 5L, 2018 F150 keeps having problems with coils. Since there is one per cylinder and the cost of replacing one is quite high. This has become a problem. I love my truck, but this gives me cause to consider GMC next time.

Had the truck a few months and have had more compliments than any vehicle I’ve ever driven. Just a sharp vehicle inside and out. Love the 2.7 engine and the leather interior and all the space both front and back.

I have had absolutely no issues with my pickup, F150 Eco. It isn't the greatest on mileage, probably in the area of 17 but I'm not complaining. I'll say this, when I'm driving 65 and have to pass on a 2 lane road and I kick it down, it gets up there immediately. Not one issue with the engine. I just spun 39,000 on it.

I have had this 2017 Ford F 150 V 8 super cab truck for less than a month. I put about 400 miles on it, city and highway. I have had it in 4 wheel drive 1 time. (Very light 4 wheeling). I like the power, and interior. I am using it for work. However the over all verdict is still out for me. Time will tell. I also have a 2007 F 150 V 6 work truck that has done me well. Some front end work, a couple of sensors and regular maintenance. 127,000 miles.

Bought my truck used in 2016 with 69k miles one owner vehicle currently pushing 122k. Only major issue has been the replacement of the break pump, great on gas plenty of torque have hauled a Bob Cat in the past with no issues. Love my truck!

I bought my used 2017 f150 xlt v8 in 2020 with 65000 miles. I washed it inside and out and shined it up. I did replace front bearings, rotors and pads, replaced the belt and drained transmission fluid because it was shuttering. Afterwards, it runs great. Everything is easy to get too and is reliable. Plenty of power especially in sports mode. I only recommend the v8 engine for the f150. Do not buy eco boost v6 engines. Too many problems.

Hey guys! I have an excellent 2017 F150 XLT with the V8 5.0. Had this truck ever since it came out and been with it since. I reached over 321,000k miles in the truck and it’s still in great condition. It is used as a daily and a work truck. So far, the V8 5.0 hasn’t gave me problems from the start. Same goes with everything else if you take care of it. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone who’s interested in trucks.

They understood and help me. When I purchased my two vehicles, I took them to my mechanic and they examined them bumper to bumper and if there was something wrong, Tod had it repaired. Those persons who complain about their vehicles, remember these are used vehicles and HAVE THEM CHECKED OUT BEFORE YOU BUY. GO TO YOUR MECHANIC LET THEM CHECK THEM OUT. I’m updating my ‘Original Owner After 10 Years’ review below. Almost two more years on the ‘09 F150 5.4 FX4 s/crew and it’s still going basically trouble free. I just put its second set of new brake pads / rotors on along with new calipers as well, I also installed a new Cat back exhaust on it however the old exhaust was still basically fine. In the fall of ‘19 for some reason the hood heat/ noise insulator pad started deteriorating so I replaced that. I also have new Motorcraft coil packs and fuel injectors just because I think they’ll perk the 5.4 up a bit but haven’t installed them yet. I figure if I put $1000 of extra maintenance in wear parts a year into it that’s a bargain compared to a monthly new truck payment so that’s my plan with a truck in excellent condition of this age. Overall for a truck going on 12 years old that’s been paid off since 2014 I’m way ahead of the game with this F150 FX4, nice 09-14 styles are starting to thin out now now so this one draws as much or more attention as when it was new. It’s still my daily driver and looks basically like when it came off the dealers lot so I’m going to try and get another 10 years out of it just because I’m sure I probably can. I’d be pretty careful if I was buying one used now however as they’re not all in the condition that mine is. I will say that since 2009 this truck has never let me down and has never broke down once although I credit that to proper maintenance and fixing little issues before they become big problems.

STX 4X4 crew cab 2.7 eco. Bought new in Sept 2018. Overall, this truck has been very reliable, albeit a few issues. I’ll list them.. 1st thing was the transmission would slam from 3rd to 4th or 5th gear. Was fixed under warranty with a software re-flash. Then the rear brakes at 30K miles. I ended up doing a brake upgrade all around. It was a huge improvement in performance.. hope they last longer. Then the wiper switch followed by the ACIM for the sync system. That’s it in 6 years. All Maintenance has been kept up with and I've had zero engine issues. I’m at 66000 miles. Comfort on long trips is great and the truck continues to track straight with ease. I replaced the worn tires at 62000 miles with larger Nitto Ridge grapplers which have definitely decreased mpg and acceleration performance but look and perform amazingly in snow. I wouldn’t hesitate on buying another.

Only mechanical thing I will complain about is the lead frame. But other than that best body style and year of f150s in the 21st century. I'm elated with it and the performance. Comfort, power and style this truck has it all. I have a platinum in white and love it.

I bought my '18 F150 Lariat 4x4 new in late 2018. No special options, crew cab, 5.5' bed, with the 2.7L Ecoboost and tow package. It has been over 5 years and the truck has been flawless. I've only done 40k miles, but all my trips are either very short, to get food or take the dog out, or very long, like 7 hours non-stop from Boise to Seattle, or from Idaho to Alabama to visit family during covid. I have the 36 gal tank and it's a revelation for road trips. My last truck would go a little over 300 miles per tank with a 15mpg V8. This one will do over 600 easy. The 2.7L gets 21mpg in town, where I'm fairly easy on it and it's usually unloaded, but only 23 on the hwy where the speed limit is 80, I'm not easy on it, and it's usually loaded for a trip. The interior is good overall, minus some cheap plastic, it's easy to clean and the leather seats have worn well. I love the OEM full rubber mats. The 4WD Auto mode is fantastic around town when it's snowy and cold but bad not enough for 4 hi. I love the load-flat rear floor and so does the dog. I got the tow package but it didn't come with the trailer brake, so that was disappointing to discover. Also, the halogen headlights are horrible and I replaced them with aftermarket LED bulbs, even though I like to use only OEM parts. The 10spd transmission isn't brilliant, with a rough shift here and there. My older Ram had an 8spd ZF, which was miles better. The F150 does eat up the miles on the open road though, almost as well as my wife's Audi Q5, but with a little more steering play, which makes it a little more fatiguing on long trips. It is, however, head and shoulders above any older trucks I've owned or driven and better than the 2015 Ram I had. I've carried trees, loads of dirt, motorcycles, furniture, towed cars and Uhaul trailers, and it's handled it all. Sometimes I wish I had 6.5' bed when I'm carrying 12' lumber. Sometimes I wish it was as small as my dad's Tacoma. Once in a while I wish it was a Raptor. But then I remember trying to park my Ram crew cab with 6.5' bed, or I drive the economy car-like Tacoma, and I realize that, while not perfect, it's nearly impossible to beat this truck as an all-around suburban homeowner-type vehicle, it even fits in my garage. I would absolutely buy it again and will probably keep it for several years to come.
