Used Ford Thunderbird for sale under $9,000 near me

We were shopping for a New 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid and found the PERFECT car for us. We then test drove the car and it had NO problems. The car was ship shape and we came in to buy it. The staff didn't rush us and we got a heck of a deal. The Simoniz was a great purchase and nothing has happened related to dealer problems. We went in for a backup camera repair and they were quick and easy to work with. The car has lasted us an amazing 1 year and we have had to do minimal repairs! Would ABSOLUTELY buy from them again no questions asked!!!

In 2002 they sold over MSRP adjusted for inflation @$54K in todays money- pricier than the 2002 Corvette and sold like 30,000 that year. I think that new car buyer had to probably be searching for the 1955 Thunderbird experience to shell out that kind of cash, and most people born on the 60’s and 70’s just didn’t understand that appeal. Oddly, the demographic that did BABIED their cars, kept up maintenance, have all the original tools and covers (just try and find that T-handle wrench for the hard top for example) when you get lucky enough to get a shot at buying one of these babies cars you’ll find they’re sharp and quick, amazingly so despite what people someone lent one to to write about said 20 years ago. Shod with 17inch tires 🛞 and solid suspension, people can complain about the horsepower being light, but stomp it and it will jump, zoom and weave solidly with the best of them. My drive home from buying this car was a blast. Will other sports models eke out slightly better speed, power and performance over these 20 year old T-birds? Sure, why not. Does it matter if you’re not at Road Atlanta? No. For me, this a sleeper sports car that’s about to bust onto the scene and see its reputation finally living up to the 2002 Car of the Year Award Motor Trend gave it. I think you need to find one of these babied sweethearts like I did. It’s a blast to find a good one and discover what an under rated blast it is to drive. Can’t really call it super nimble, but I respect mines solid ride and reasonably quick response & rocket like performance. The incredibly clean lines scream style visually and I suggest that a 2 tone leather optional interior is worth an extra $1K (over the basic. $11-12 K value) a hard top/rack/tonneau cover intact is worth another grand. ($13-14K total seems fair generally for a babied one). Check the rubber suspension parts underneath (inside the front wheel well behind the tire) is the easiest one to check quickly for rot w/o getting under the rear).

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED my 2003 Canary Yellow Ford Thunderbird!!! Believe me when I tell you that when it came to performance, style and comfort - I couldn't have made a better choice in a Roadster! I was 50 years old when I purchased my 17k miles beauty and sold it 16 years later..after clocking a total of 256k miles. What else can I say? It was the sharpest ride on the road and I was the envy of all who knew me. Believe it!!!

Well, I don’t know who gives this place a bad review! Michelle was A W E S O M E!!! She was funny and personable and engaging and knowledgeable and informative and helpful and fun!!! She explained everything in detail and the car I probe 2 hours to see was exactly as Fadi (initial salesman) described! I’m in love with this Mustang! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a car from them again. I went to Echo Park the week before and the car was trashed. They also had ridiculous fees that you couldn’t opt out of. This was by FAR a better buying experience. 5 stars? More like 10 stars!! A+++

I absolutely love this car. My only wish is that I can find a Hard Top to put on it at a reasonable price. But I still love this car. I am sorry but I do. It puts a smile on my face. And I didn't have to pay a fortune for it either. It still looks like new, and it drives great, and it handles excellent. It is the Torch Red w/Black Ink Interior. And this is to the guy that says the 3.9 engine is underpowered, you are nuts, this thing screams down the highway, not that I am a speed demon, but it does. I don't know what else to say about this Thunderbird, but I wish I had bought one many years ago. Nuff said.

A beautiful automobile gift from my beautiful wife on 6/2/23. I’ve been searching for a tbird and a friend told me to call and see if this guy was willing to sell one of 3 Tbirds he had. Little did I know in a few hours I’d be the new owner of Dale Jarrett’s personal Tbird with only 6,842 miles on it. His signature is on the dash and also his personal leather racing jacket signed. Needless to say it handles like new and has new car smell. We drove it from Charlotte NC to Charleston SC and couldn’t believe how it performed handled and rode. It’s definitely an eye catcher. The hardtop was easy to remove with 2 people. It would have been nice if it would have been designed to retract into the trunk. But mine came with hoist to attach to garage ceiling which made it very easy. I’m 100% satisfied and happy with my new Tbird.

I own this car. I absolutely love it. Fun to drive & a head turner. The only reason for a 4 rating on comfort is because I also own 4 Grand Marquis’ a Crown Victoria & a Lincoln Town car. All of them are rust free low mileage Texas cars. They are slightly more comfortable. But I didn’t expect the ride comfort on the bird to be as good as it is. My advice to anyone reading this…..buy one!

Once you can get ahold of them it isn't bad, however getting ahold of them is a HUGE process!

Im just absolutly in love with my T-Bird its super roomy on the inside and the seats are very comfy. The cupholders need improvment but thats normal 90's car enginering. The outside looks pretty sporty and I love the way my car is shaped but im not the biggest fan of the headlight design but, thats the only thing i dont really like. I have the v6 so the engine power is kinda lacking but im not really looking for a supercar lol :)

Very good experience best purchase price for any used wrangle in the swf area also a very good price for my trade, they didn't low ball me like the dealerships in Ft Myers or Cape Coral worth the extra drive. I bought it brand NEW. Only 30,000 miles. Have all original . including Hard Top and one of a kind Thunder Blue color.It also has the shift you can do yourself or just use 6speed. New Brakes, New Tires, Sirus radio, New C D along with radio. Have the Hard top as well as the regular convertable top. All paint PERFECT

This car has al the performance of a true luxury muscle car but the comfort of a BMW 760. it is truelly a great car to own.

I love the way the car looks. Beautiful exterior design. Finding the 93 octane ethanol-free gas can be a pain, though. I bought mine used from a dealership. They didn't check her out - of course she was only on the market less than 48-hrs. before I bought her. The cobwebs under the hood should've let me know the previous owner didn't drive her enough. The "recommended" recall on the coil packs was not done. Two went bad, so I replaced all 8. Expensive! The engine light and damned "wrench" light came on 200 miles after replacing the COPS. The computer error code kept indicating COPS. It was not. Long story short, and $2,500.00 later, I had TWO computers replaced. Ford no longer makes them, so they're hard to find. Once installed, they have to "talk" to each other. Mine wouldn't. An expert on Jaguar engines was consulted, and he had to bring all his diagnostic equipment. My bird was in the shop for 2 months. Finally fixed - she had to "re-learn" almost everything, but after two weeks of driving, she was back to normal. Now, she runs like a "scalded cat"! I am a T-Bird nut, so to me, it was worth spending the money to get her repaired. She has 57,000 miles on her. I was told these cars, with the 3.9 liter Jaguar engine HAVE to be driven. They cannot "sit". Fine with me. I LOVE this T-Bird, and regret nothing. Now she is with an owner that will take care of her. Whisper White with Black Leather interior, removeable hardtop with black convertible top underneath. Small trunk, but I didn't buy her to stuff the trunk full of things. A really, really awesome car - if taken care of.

This car is hot, but not a Hot Rod. It is a Luxury sports car built for cruising in style. Treated with the respect it deserves, it is strong, ready and responsive. I have read some disgruntled reviews about this car, and must admit, it is not perfection, but if You are looking for a future classic with the schmaltz of Sinatra and the heart of Buddy Holly. This is the car for You!

Love driving this fun car. Maintenance has been an issue and will probably only get worse... Item: Like most modern cars, there are no grease points in the suspension. So when the little rubber boots that cover the joints rot away, there's no way to lubricate the suspension, and the parts start to grind against each other. Out $4k to replace the front and rear suspension. Had them do the struts too since they had to take everything else out. Item: Many parts no longer available. The accelerator pedal switches failed. No Ford or aftermarket replacement to be found. Good news: found one at a salvage yard. Bad news: it's the same age as the one it replaced. Item: Crack in the windshield? Stay away from any chain that rhymes with "Chafe-Bite." Replacing the windshield means removing the frame. Very few of their techs are trained on how to do this.

Everyone at the dealership was great to deal with. The technician who took me to look at the vehicle was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. He also gave me great advice on what to do with the vehicle in terms of restoration work that would save me money and time in the long run, while still making sure I would get the best work done on the vehicle. I was seeking an convertible for summer fun, and I wanted to find something unique, not a dime-a-dozen Mustang, Camaro, or foreign convertible. This car DEFINITELY fits the bill...rarely see one of these on the road, and even more rarely one of these limited-edition Pacific Coast Roadsters. Also, being that I am 6' tall, I wanted a car that I could be comfortable in and not feel like Dino in the "Flintstone-mobile at the drive-in"...this is one of the few cars of it's 2-seater size that allows for a full-size American to be comfortable in. Being only a 2-seater, it's definitely limited to fun driving, as it's small trunk and 2-passenger capacity make it impractical for anything else. An added-plus is that this Thunderbird has a detachable hardtop for the off-weather seasons to allow for fun driving in the late Fall through early Spring. Having owned a convertible with a black interior decades ago, I knew better than to own another black interior convertible, and learned that 95% of the 'retrobirds' had a standard black interior, albeit for the limited-editions (2003 007, 2004 Pacific Coast Roadster, or 2005 Cashmere). The light gray interior of this car will reflect more sunshine heat than the black interiors, and give a longer life to the leather seats and vinyl interior trim. The car overall rides smooth. The car was not designed to be a sports car, but a roadster - something with driver comfort in mind. That said, it hits the mark. The ride is smooth and comfortable. The 3.9L V-8 provides ample power and acceleration. The handling is decent and traction is on the mark with wide footprint 17" tires...I opted to put new Pirelli Cinturato A/S Plus (grand-touring) tires on to replace the aging Continentals. These tires completely smoothed-out the ride and the whisper-quiet tires enhances the top-down experience. I made a point to have the coil-on-plugs and spark plugs inspected and found the inherent oil ingress issue (a known issue with the 3.9L in the Thunderbird, Lincoln LS and Jaguary S-type ) in the spark plug wells, and had the valve cover grommets replaced along with new spark plugs and coils. Good preventative maintenance. I did note that this car's stereo does suffer from the typical Ford CD-changer failure prone to ALL Ford's of the mid-2000's. Fortunately, this car has the satellite radio option so I am not so bummed about this problem. All-in-all, a hella-fun car to spend a weekend drive in. I find I'm liking this car more and more every trip.
