The price point was a little high and the customer service at all the dealerships were lacking. As if the cars will sell themselves. Not at Kokomo. And sent me a personal video tour of inside and outside of the vehicle being honest about every single detail about the car so there would be no surprises when I arrived. They gave me top dollar for my trade in and worked out all financing, details and negotiations before I even arrived so I did not wast my time. Their price was the lowest in a 200 mile radius and had the most features on the car. Adam was absolutely amazing to work with. Went completely above and beyond for me. I couldn’t have asked for better service than what I received there all around. No high pressure. Treated me and my family as if we were their family. So glad we made the drive out there. I'd been trying to place an order with my authorized MB dealer for over a year but not for this car; rather, it was for an E53 Cabriolet in the same colors and premium interior. Due to the chip shortage and the transition to electric cars there simply were few allocations available for the E53 Cabriolet so when my dealer received a special order model - Rubellite Red Special Edition - they offered it to me and one look and I was smitten. It's a far cry from a convertible but more than makes up for it by virtues of its own. I've owned the predecessor to the AMG GT 4-door (the CLS63S) but was surprised at the nimble and surefooted handling of this big and heavy car! While this new model is a hybrid with less HP than my old CLS63S, it is plenty powerful and fast enough for the kind of driving I do around town. The car I traded in was a 2018 C63S Cabriolet and even though that car was smaller, lighter and more powerful, I find the GT53 to handle better and accelerate almost as well so whatever difference there is in the weight/power ratio is negligible. The GT53 is more refined than the C63S so the exhaust is more muted and I'd prefer a little more of that sound making it into the cockpit but on the other hand, the GT53 makes for a smoother and quieter ride than the C63S which more than makes up for not getting all the pops and bangs from the exhaust during spirited driving and downshifting. My only gripe is that despite the plush look of the diamond-quilted seats, they are quite firm and I wish there were more cushion in the seat bottom. There is a lot to learn about the infotainment system but using "Hey Mercedes" certainly is helpful. I've only had the car a short while so I can't comment further just yet but so far, the honeymoon phase is in full swing.
