I bought my golf new at the end of 2016 and would have kept it much longer if it had not been totaled in an accident. The few little issues I had were covered under the initial warranty (coolant leak, trunk leak). Nothing else other than normal maintenance things like brakes and tires up to 81,000 - that's as far as I can speak to. I took good care of it, did the VW service things for the most part and I have no doubt it would have lasted to 200K or beyond. It looked cool and was fun to drive. I had the S manual. I enjoy driving and had a tiny regret about not getting the Wolfsburg edition (faster engine, slightly better options like heated seats and sun/moon roof).

My experience has been awesome so far! They got me into a very nice car, for an awesome price, in less than 2 hrs, and Monique literally saved my life, lol! They are the ultimate driving machine! The GT is no exception. This car is amazing, it performs like the 7 but is priced closer to the 5 series. Comfort, comfort, comfort...my passengers say it feels like riding in a limo and I love the twin turbo and switching into sport mode just to show off. I think the "hatchback" body style is taking the consumer some time to get used to, but I love the easy cargo area access from the rear and although it doesn't have the height in the cargo area that my X5 did, it is wider and longer and closer to the ground, which makes it more convenient to load & unload. I did not initially like the 2-step process of having to lower the seats and then the cargo area barriers but I love the resulting level, huge cargo area, so it's worth it. And the gas mileage is better than my X5 4.8is and the twin turbo has more power--a win-win!

Most reliable car in my 37 years of driving! NO problems. Biggest negative are brakes grabbing at parking lot speeds. Biggest positive 39 mpg average. I had software upgraded and replaced USB module from Walmart for Android auto and Apple carplay

I owned the 2005 Golf TDI GLS since 2011 and have loved it. I've been to the mechanic the average number of times for an older car so it's not as reliable as a Honda or Toyota, I'd say, but it's been super-fun as a city car (easy to park and get through narrow areas) and there's nothing like taking it to Indiana or rural Illinois and zipping around country roads and downshifting into a sharp turn in this thing. The features on the GLS (at least back in 2005) are really nice and the sounds system rocks.

This is the second sol I have owned and I couldn't be happier. Although both were bought in Tucson Arizona the dealership in Lawrence Kansas has been great. I haven't been notified of a recall on my car I am concerned about the anti theft device I have been hearing about and the oil ring problem in some of the 2020 sols. Just a little worried my car may have this problem. Any info would be great.

On the 2020 recall, dealer fixed it with no problem, offered a loaner car for the duration. Very good gas mileage. Also, dealer will now install anti-theft system, all with NO CHARGE.

I needed a car with an automatic transmission because my knee was getting worse. I had a 2011 Cruze with a manual transmission and liked it but I traded it in for a 2019 Cruze. Going on six years now and I don't want another vehicle. Reliable? Very. I don't drive like a maniac and I keep up with maintenance. My usb port went kaput but I replaced it myself. My phone would not connect to the infotainment system. I fixed that by removing the fuse to the radio while it was on then turning off the car and then plugging it back in. It rebooted the system. I garage my Cruze and watch where I park it, so no dents anywhere. I intend to keep this car for as long as possible.
