Its a roomy vehicle and runs so smooth. Everything outside the car is visible while inside creating less chances of hitting objects around you. And the engine size being a 1.3 litre is a plus to save an extra buck on gas.

Purchased for my wife's 80 + mile daily commute. She drove it daily for over 10 and a half years. All maintenance done by the Honda Dealer in Saratoga Springs, NY Great service, by the way. A very trouble free car. She decided to purchase a new CRV earlier this year. I now drive the Insight for my daily 40 mile commute. I average 58MPG, as I drive it very easy and avoid the interstate. It now has 228,000 miles and still going strong! I highly recommend this if you don't mind its lower performance but it pays back in great gas mileage. I fill up every 14 to 16 days for less than $18.00. Can't say enough about how good of a car this is. My son is turning 16, in a few months. This will be his 1 car. I am looking for another one for myself.

Great driving car that saves fuel consistently. EPA didn't do it justice. I get consistent 51-56 mpg in Summer and 48-51 mpg during coldest weather when I commute. I measure it miles driven to fuel added at gas station. Lots of room for passengers and cargo. Rear seats down it becomes a very usable wagon. What I like best is that it drives and rides like a Honda. Never had a problem with this car. Reliability has been beyond expectation for this hybrid. And it's really easy on tires too. I'd give it 6 Stars if I could.

Great car for travel or for work. I wouldn't recommend it for a large family cause its like a Prius in size. But it great for gas and the hatchback option lets it store more then you would think

10/29/25 Shortly after arriving at my campsite in Inverness FL I experienced with the fuel injector in my 2022 Silverado 2500HD/4 W Drive Truck. I located the Love Chevrolet dealership and brought my Truck in ASAP. The Service Dept was welcoming and arranged for my Truck to be looked at ASAP. The SVC Mgr arranged for transportation at no charge back to my hunting campsite. My Truck was ready first thing in the AM on 10/31. Honda insight is a futuristic car in design. It is educational on how to save fuel. It is save to drive. It is a smart combination of fuel and motor. But it is easily fully charged going downhill. Add a bigger capacity battery and a solar charger for the 12V battery with be great.

This car is the most reliable car I have owned, although it is my first Honda. I purchased a 2010 Honda Insight in December 2013 with 42,000. As of August of 2018, I have a 176,000 miles, with minor service issues. Extremely reliable. Steel rims are durable, as oppose to aluminum rims. The MPG Is great. I can get 48 MPG on the highway and around a 42 MPG in the city. Trunk is huge. I can fit a double stroller width wise plus groceries with no problems. I have used this car for ridesharing and have been able to fit two large suitcases and a small suitcase. The car inside is a compact car but the trunk space is much larger. Performance is lack luster with only 90 horse power but is adequate, and is made up by the great gas mileage that I mentioned before. The interior design, is ok. Sort of blah. Perhaps what I don't like the most about the car is the light grey interior. With two small children, any slight stain or dirt shows up very easy, and is extremely difficult to remove, even with a Little Green Clean Machine and pretreatment. The LX Trims, which mine is, do not have blue tooth and you have to use a AUX Cord to connect any type of phone. EX Trims do have Blue Tooth. Overall if you are looking for a extremely reliable car, with a big trunk, that is fuel efficient at three to four thousand dollars less than a full size Prius, this is an excellent choice.

Wonderful car! 220000 miles and all I did was oil change, Battery, Tires, Brakes and fluids change. Great gas miliage and I carted all my musical equipment around in it and the gas miliage was still the same. Honda makes a great car.

We knew we were in good hands when it was raining and he came out and greeted us with an umbrella. Got a Honda Civic for a very fair price. Honest dealer. The whole experience was straight forward and easy. If you want a reliable, used car - this is the place.

I completed a lot of research before purchasing a 2010 Honda Insight EX, and would make the same choice if I were to do so again. Positives: Fuel economy has been great with 45-48 mpg. I have used the paddle shifters when it is helpful to have a little more “zip” in driving style and this is helpful—they do not come with the LX model. The exterior styling of the Insight is very pleasing—body shape, heated folding mirrors with turn signal indicators, taillights with connecting red reflector across the hatch, and smooth body side lines that flow well. The number of choices for the dash display and helpful information is excellent. They really help motivate better driving habits, and I notice these habits transfer to other vehicles I drive and help improve mpg in those vehicles also. Interior space is pretty well thought out with extra storage near the spare tire(great that it has a spare tire and not just a cheap repair kit). With the split folding seats folded, and front seats fully forward—an unthinkable position to drive in—there is over six feet of space from the back of the front seats, to the rear hatch. The multiple positions of the steering wheel—telescoping and up/down—and general feeling of the size/shape of the wheel are very good . Negatives: The steering is very responsive. This is a negative in my thinking because it feels like I could easily bump the vehicle off course, and I cannot just ease back and let the car roll along. The drivers seat needs a small cushion because it becomes uncomfortable on long drives—60+ miles. The climate controls take a little to get used to, and are more complicated than a simpler three knob type structure—temp, air direction, fan speed. The center back seat would be extremely difficult to ride in for anyone over 5’7” because of headroom, and difficult for anyone on a long ride because of comfort—a pronounced hump exists. Last two things. There are numerous comparisons of this vehicle to the Prius, and surprisingly most were in favor of the Prius during this model year. The worst model year for the Prius is the 2010–read about engine problems in expert reviews. I have driven the Prius and find the driver seat a little more comfortable. In the 2012-2014 Honda Insight models, they also had severe engine problems—I would advise against the purchase of any Insight during these years. Final thought—the 2010-2011 Honda Insights are available at much less cost than comparable Prius, the Insight looks far better and is more fun to drive(opinion) and the mpg are very similar. I think it is a wise purchase.

This car is all about fuel economy - and how you drive it has a huge bearing on this. If you're heavy-footed you won't see any benefit from the technology. Luckily, the car has a number of ways to gently persuade you into economical driving, which is very cool. I get 75mpg on a 120-mile run and 65mpg in town, which is phenomenal. These are UK figures. The car has completely changed my attitude to cars, driving, energy, renewables and our place in the world. Which takes some doing, but it's an amazing car, and easily the best I've had in 42 years of motoring. I won't be changing it any time soon. It's quiet, comfortable, fun to drive, extremely reliable, quirky, interesting and of course the fuel economy makes it a no-brainer. Especially as it's now a used buy. There are bargains to be had. Ignore auto industry reviews - these people are comparing the Insight to large, fast, fuel-hungry dinosaur cars. Apples and oranges. Buy one, it may just change your life. Seriously.

I purchased my dream car, a Miata, from this dealer about 5 years ago. They were very easy to work with and I got an awesome deal.

I bought the basic LX model new in 2012. Added after-market cruise control. The car gets incredible gas milage but it struggles on hills. The interior is comfortable, and when you lay down the rear seats, you cannot believe how much room you have to haul stuff! My only complaint on the car is that the gas engines on the 2012 Insight were faulty. They simply were built wrong, which resulted in a recall from Honda. It took me several months trying to convince Honda of the recall with my Insight until one of the 4 cylinders blew. Honda replace the engine even though the car had over a 100,000 miles. (Spring of 2018) Since the replacement, the car has performed better than ever! Only one full brake replacement and normal oil, filters and a starter battery replacement. Put some decent Michelin tires on the car. Had one alignment after bumping the curb hard while driving on snow and ice. Not a great snow performer, at all! If buying a used 2012 Insight - check to see the recall status of the engine!

The wife, myself and kids drove in a week ago for a reliable second car. After a short test drive with the owner ? midnight motors (during which haggling was done) a few issues were pointed out with the car. Paperwork was completed and money changed hands. But the story (Review does not stop there). The issues pointed out by Midnight Racing Auto were spot on and have be resolved. With a planned visit to their service department next week to them for new tires. We are very pleased with the purchase and staff at midnight motors. Yes we read the bad review out there before going and remain glad it did stop us from giving them a chance. Midnight Racing Auto will be doing all future service & Sales on this car and our others! ? Extremely well running car, reliable and good on gas. Back row is mildly narrow but I have heard no complaints. Got the car for a great price and it runs extremely well, has great trunk space too. Would recommend!

These guys have been in business forever, and they are one of the few garages in the area that is certified to do state emissions testing. It looks like a bunch of the other dealers in the area bring their cars there for service too. So why not just cut out the middleman? All their cars look great, and I would totally buy from them!

It is a great car for the price. Drives well and saves gas since it is a hybrid. It is good for commuting and driving around.

If you want one car and all you do is level-terrain driving, commuter-driving, errand-driving, then this is it. Forget the videos, I have 15,000 miles on mine and I'm getting 44mpg in Tucson blasting A/C all the time. If, on the other hand, you need one-car-fits-all I'm not sure. Im not that overweight and on long drives it's not that comfortable. If you are into gadgets be prepared the Civic lets you stream music from your phone through bluetooth but the Insight does not. That annoyed me. My ipod/iphone has to be connected to the USB to make music happen. Using hands-free via bluetooth works great- really great actually. Just not streaming music and I don't think any bluetooth radio I've seen does a good job with iPod navigation. Let's get back to the part about how this is a car for driving/commuting. On one long drive through mountains coming out of San Diego my brother drove his top of the line Prius (with solar roof panels) and he had nothing on me in terms of speed and I beat him on gas mileage-- and I was using the paddle shifters to over-ride the automatic transmission. Let's talk transmission. I think CVT is the best things since sliced bread for transmissions and the Insight is very smooth. It's also silky quiet. The shuddering thing (in Econ mode the engine literally turns off at stoplights and then when you release the break pedal to go, it starts back up again instantly) I've read is not something I've experienced on mine- 2013 model. If you think its there and it bugs you then hit the econ button and the engine won't stop at traffic lights. I think the econ button mainly helps you if you want to modify your driving habits to maximize fuel economy by giving you excellent visual LCD indicators that give you instant feedback if you are driving. Now remember, if you turn off the Econ button then here's a tip: If you drive like your great grandma, you will get phenomenal gas mileage-- up to just under 50mpg in my case. If you drive like you're 16, open container, and you just stole something, you'll have to settle for 42-43mpg. I drive it like I really mean it and blast the A/C all the time and I get 44 mpg. The engine is quiet and I think very refined but obviously not powerful. If you need to romp, get a car with a more powerful engine. If driving the legal speed limit annoys you, get a different car. If you really need to drive through floods and rutted roads on a routine basis, don't get this car. If you drive with a lot of combined weight in the vehicle get a different car. If you go up and down mountains, get a different car. If you are the type of person who wants to feel wrapped in cast-iron and on-top-of-everybody-else when you drive I don't think you'll be happy with the Insight. On the other hand consider this. Let's start with those reviewer videos. If you look at the "professional" video-reviews and wonder if the reviewers are Toyota employees, trust your gut and buy this car, made by Honda-- I'm not a Honda employee and I don't work in (or on) "cars." If you want a vehicle meticulously engineered with state-of-the-art technology to provide comfort over short-medium distances, hi-tech features like Continuously Variable Transmission, traction and tire sensors, and oh by the way 44 mpg all at a very compelling price from a company renowned for quality, reliability, and longevity, then buy this car.
