This is probably going to be the best car I ever own! Highly reliable, easy to drive and fun to go off roading in. This is the Lexus version of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and that should be enough information right there. If you get one of these beast, hold on to it!

Had a hybrid RH 400 for many years, needed the extra seats and love the GX 460. Can’t complain, adult really isn’t comfortable in the 3rd row for a long distance buy other than that love it. The V8 won’t be around much longer so I’m happy I got this one. Happy happy.

Love this vehicle. It is on a frame so it will not ride like a plush luxury vehicle but it rides and handles very well. Lexus detuned the motor bit. A little more power might have been nice but it not designed, nor do I want, a rocket. In fact, when I learned that Lexus was going to also retire this very reliable 8 cyclinder and offer twin turbo v-6s, we bought a second one. We get 18-22 miles per gallon from a reliable motor which will should last hundreds of thousands of dollars. This turbo stuff, just like the ev stuff represents false economies and will result in the death of such vehicles way before they need to be junked.

The most reliable and comfortable SUV in the market today. Its drives very smooth and the last SUV with a normally aspirated V8 engine that is under stressed allowing it to last 200,000 plus miles. This particular model has been built to last and designed to work for many years to come. It is functional and spacious. Everything is like new and no car issues. Everything works. Lexus delivers piece of mind and quality. Lexus simply refines their vehicles even more than their Toyota standard making them absolutely perfect. No car company has been able to beat the Japanese in reliability and design. Their products is a result of their culture. Make the very best or do not make it at all.

Second one I have had. Like sitting on your living room couch for comfort. So many ways to adjust the steering and seats, every driver can be comfortable. The interior is well appointed and very attractive. The barn door back gate is much easier to load cargo than a liftgate. Mirrors are a good size. very attractive vehicle, gets many appreciative looks. People assume they are much more expensive than they are due to the quality. Vehicle sits high and has the best lighting on any vehicle I have driven and I need that. I would rather spend my $$ on a Lexus than anything else out there.

Bought a 1 owner GX460 after owning an RX350 for 14 years and 245,000 miles. I LOVED that car. The GX is perfect for my growing family and a little bigger for all of the excess a toddler has in baggage. Will always buy Lexus. Reliability beyond compare!!

I was looking for a specific car that was at this CarMax. Problem was that I live in Minnesota, not Chicago and would have to traveling a great distance for a car I had not seen other than in pics, potentially risking wasting a great deal of time and money. I had to trust Jonathan, my salesman, to tell me the condition of the car where the pics could not. He was completely honest and the car was exactly what he said it was. I traded my 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 4Matic for a brand new 2023 Lexus GX460 and could not be happier! I love how solid and substantial the GX feels and even thought it is not at quick as the MB with its turbo inline 6, I love how the V8 engine in my GX sounds and performs with its perfectly matched power train. The truck looks nice, rides nice and it a great place to spend time. I’m looking forward to many years of enjoyment since these vehicles are known for their legendary reliability.

John understood my needs and responded quickly with Jeeps to review - after a bit of humming and hawing on my part, I changed my mind to trucks. I found a truck at another facility, John had it tranferred and within 2 days my soon to be truck arrived - and it is a beauty. While yes my truck need a repair on the fog lights, it is covered under their warranty, I am highly impressed with my experience. This is my 4th Lexus 460 GX. It seems smaller and there no point using the 3rd row no leg room. What I don't like especially is that you can view everything in your cargo area between the Captain seats. There's no cargo or tonneau cover to hide the cargo. I bought a piece of carpet to hide what could be seen and it continues to fall down.

Very comfortable ride and seats, reliable, and great visibility. Love the Mark Levinson sound system, it is excellent! We bought it 10 months ago with 53,000 miles on it and still looks and drives like brand new. I love how whisper quiet it is, no road noise, and there is not a squeak or rattle anywhere in the vehicle. Lexus is definitely in a class of it's own. It is so easy to keep it showroom clean, which makes it still look brand new. When seeing it, no one believes it is 9yrs old.

This is a very comfortable car and is great for trips. It has a tremendous amount of room for luggage. The V8 also makes it great for driving around town.

Overall, I love my GX. Its exterior styling is aggressive and unique. The interior is conservative, yet luxurious. I appreciate that it doesn’t have the auto start-stop feature that all the other vehicles have. I don’t miss it! The V8 is silky smooth. It is very quiet when maintaining a speed. But when accelerating, the V8 is like music to your ears. Regarding the negative traits, it is a gas guzzler (19hwy/15city). Considering it has a 4.6 liter, normallly aspirated V8, it is sluggish. It has 301 hp/329 ft-lbs of torque. The 0-60 is listed as 7.2 seconds. The throttle isn’t responsive for the first 50% of input. The second 50% of input is where you get the response. But it comes with the drama of the downshifting and V8 roar. There is no good reason why this engine and transmission can’t perform better and more linear. It has a 6 speed transmission. If it had an 8-10 speed, it would more than likely help with the performance and fuel economy. If it had a fully independent suspension it would improve the handling. The controversial rear side-hinged cargo door takes some getting used to. Why they didn’t design it with a hatch is anyone’s guess. I was aware of everything I stated and I still chose to lease it. I have no regrets. It is a good and solid SUV with an excellent reliability record. It holds its resale value. It does more things right than wrong. I recommend it.

I purchased a new 2023 GX460 two weeks ago, and it is a fabulous SUV. I did get two Key Fobs, so it depends on when you get the car. I traded a 2020 RX350, and believe it or not, the GX is super quiet, and more so than the RX350. I have the Premium Plus with Sport package, and it is super good looking, and I get compliments on it all the time. I do recommend the sport package, it has nice exterior upgrades . The Mark Levinson stereo is fabulous. The tried and true v8 with the 4 speed automatic trans is wonderful, smooth sailing. The MPG is really not far off from the RX350 with the v6. I'm average about two miles to the gallon different, around 16 in town , with 22 on the highway. Not bad for a heavy vehicle. While some reviews tend to knock the rear tail gate opening that opens to the side, I love it, and a big plus is that you can raise the back window ! Not many SUV's do that ! The GX460 is built in one of the best factories in Japan, the Tahara plant. The fit and finish is perfect. Everything lines up, the paint is beautiful ! This is one of the best cars I have ever owned, if not the best ! I highly recommend the GX460 !
