If you lilke SUV's you will love this one. It drives and handles like a car but is roomy enough for family and friends, 8 of them. This car is loaded with anything you could possibly need for a trip.

This is my 2nd lexus lx and love the car would buy a 3rd however if you are 6'2 on long drives not confortable at all and mpg is horrible i average in city 12mpg highway 17 combined 14.5 to 15 but if you have this car mpg is not a factor but compared to the competition could be lot better i love the design of the car its very elegant mine is a 06 and no one can tell that its 11 years old big downside is no aux n usb with ml sound system and no ice box in center console like the ones overseas

I've owned many cars since 1976, mostly sports cars, but once both of my children were born, i bought a new 2002 Lexus LX470, my first SUV. I did pay a little bit more than i shouldve, $72,000 sticker price, but that's because I had no problem with money back then. This car is extremely reliable, comfortable, and it has many features that made this car worth every penny. My business is not doing very well in this economy, so fixing this car and paying for gas is much harder. The MPG is the only really bad thing about this car. It also has a lack of horsepower. It feels slow during acceleration, but I've driven sports cars all my life, so I don't think its a problem. This car also has floppy handling. But when it comes to luxury and off-roading, The Lexus LX470 is the best.

Rear ended in a blowing rainstorm at 70+ mph such an impact as to bend the chassis to ground level st the receiver hitch. All the doors were jammed and the door frames crumpled. My wife suffered a cracked vertebrae NO OTHER INJURIES. A LIFE SAVER. 1999 model LX 470 w 148,000 miles. Shop carefully and BUY a nice used one. Safe-comfortable but not cheap. This was my third LX470. I bought it certified in 2005 with 16K miles and just sold it with 185,000 miles. it never cost me a dime (until recently)in maintenance other than oil changes and tires. I drove the new 570 and hated it, its definitely NOT the same vehicle. now i'm searching for a low miles 2007 LX470.

Bought my LX 470 with 185,000 miles on it. At 244,000 and am finally having issues with the AHC suspension. Updating to strutmasters coil overs and struts. Around $1500 including installation. Bought this car for a fraction of original sales price and have had no issues whatsoever. Rides like a dream, powerful, and unbelievably sure footed in the ice and snow. Never had a vehicle even close to this steady.

This has been a wonderful all around car. Great for lugging all the kids around, family trips across country, snow ski trips to the mountains, hauling tons of kids and equipment to sporting events... you name it... it's done it! Over 200,000 miles and still drives better than most new cars I've been in... just change the oil... fill her up and she keeps on going!!!

This SUV is one of the best for overall comfort and fun. It may be a gas guzzler but it still has good power and is very reliable. It also costs a bit to much.

I was planning on purchasing it for Toyota Land Cruiser as a second car for my Toyota Sequoia which had 400,000 miles on it. LX 470 is an upgraded Land Cruiser and much more comfortable and I love the car.

Thinkin about that new RX350? Well consider the '00 LX 470. The 2000 Lexus LX 470 was Toyota's more plush alternative to the 100 series Land Cruiser, but don't be fooled by that majestic real wood and leather interior - this is probably the most capable car ever, period. The 3rd row seats have enough room to snooze for endless drives. The 4.7 Liter V8 sounds quieter than a breeze. The Nakamichi sound system is as close as you'll get to a mobile nightclub. Sure, the V8 may be quite mediocre, at only 230 bhp and 330 lb/ft torque, but keep in mind - the V8 is INDESTRUCTIBLE - LITERALLY. Our car was bought at 266,000 miles, but that really doesn't matter. GET ONE ASAP.

I am on my 4th LX470. I will have very hard time when I decide to move to a different vehicle. These things are indestructible. My current is a 2006 with only 29k miles on it, my last I sold with 273k on it, no rust, no tears, two sets of breaks, three sets of Michelin LTX m&s tires on regular oil Changes and nothing else required. Lexus quality at its best. I think most of these SUVs will run 400k-500k miles without many issues. Buy them from private sellers with oil change documentation and service at Toyota dealers...much less costly if service is required.

This 4WD is" over kill" for most of my driving...But that's the only way they come. Oh well, I was never stuck! These cars are good for 500,000 miles.

This vehicle has preformed well beyond our expectations. We just ordered a new one which we are told will be here in three months. The wait is driving us nuts. They are not inexpensive, but is money very well spent. What a great investment in safety, comfort, and reliability
