I purchased a Honda from this dealership in October. Based on my experience with 1st Choice Auto, I'd rate their communication 5/5 and the condition of the vehicle that I purchased from them 3.5/5, for a total of 4/5 stars. The pros: they answer calls promptly and courteously. They work with out-of-state buyers (i.e., I was permitted to send a mobile mechanic to check out the vehicle for a pre-purchase inspection, and I was allowed to put down a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve the vehicle). They provided an itemized list and total of all costs over the phone and by email, and offered to handle the DMV/MVA paperwork for me. The mechanic noted that the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, and the dealership took care of that for me at my request. The cons: their listings claim that, "All safety recalls performed prior to vehicle pickup." That was not, in fact, the case with my vehicle. I arrived at the dealership more than three business days after placing my deposit. They offered to take it to a Honda dealership for me to get the recall resolved, but it was too late and inconvenient at that stage to do so (an acquaintance drove me a bit under 2 hours to reach the dealership as I did not have my own car, and I didn't want to impose on them any further by returning at a later date). Furthermore, while the car did pass both Virginia's state inspection and my home state's inspection, I ended up paying an additional $600+ for repairs. My advice is to mentally tack on an additional 10% to 15% to the total purchase price to land at a realistic amount you'll end up paying, and don't expect the vehicle to be 100% as you drive off the lot with it. If you find yourself considering a vehicle at the upper end of your budget, be sure to inspect the vehicle first and revise your offer accordingly.

Tons of leg room. Absolutely quiet while driving. I wish we would have found this van before. It allows for transporting and helping my family. Definitely well made.

Owned for 6 years. Almost no maintenance required. Just oil changes, new brakes and tires at usual intervals. Great car. Runs well. Performs okay in snow. Better with snow or all season tires. 4 cylinder engine is fine for city use but not great when more power is needed for accelerating and highway passing. Design is good but becoming dated. Interior is good but some nice features are only found on the highest trim level, grand touring.

This is a great, fun, solid car. I can't stress that enough, the steering, power, weight ratio, is just perfectly balanced. The 1.3l Rotary engine is just amazing, and so much fu to drive. I've put over 12,000 miles on my Rx-7 and the only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I have a baby on the way. If it had a backseat, I'd probably keep it! The only thing is the reliability. I've had 3 problems within the last month, all little things, and easily fixable, but annoying when it's your daily driver. Thankful that I have a motorcycle as a backup vehicle.

The customer service was pretty good, and the prices were fair. They were willing to negotiate. If I wanted to view a car someone would escort me or at least point me in the right direction

This vehicle is comfortable and a smooth drive. Size is good for extra passengers and/or hauling equipment. I am looking forward to talking a road trip.

I purchased my 2013 Mazda 3i Grand Touring Hatchback (manual transmission) in 2014 and the previous owner had put 30K miles on it. I've now got 140K and still love the car. Outside of recommended maintenance, the only repair expense I've had was I decided to replace the clutch. It hadn't failed but it was starting to show some slippage. I haven't even had to replace the brake pads yet! As for likes and dislikes that someone checking out this car might not notice just from looking, here are some negatives: 1) The 1-2 shift is always a bit notchy but others are smooth. 2) The 2.0L doesn't have a lot of power in the lower revs but 3000-4000 rpms it's pretty spirited (assuming you don't have four large adults in the car) 3) I ended up replacing the OEM headunit (the BOSE with Navigation) with an Eonon. I had issues getting the Eonon working early on but after a couple updates, it's been a huge improvement. 4) The biggest negative is that at some point, I'll have to let it go. On the positive side: 1) It handles great, 2) It carries a decent amount for its size 3) It gets good gas mileage (I used to average 35mpg but in recent years my driving in this car has been more around town and it's fallen back to 31-32.) 4) It's been extremely reliable. 5) The front seats are very comfortable (I'm 5'7" and the car fits me great. I imagine taller people would not be as comfortable.)

I love my Mazda 2016 grand touring CX-5. It has been a very reliable vehicle. Cruise control operates perfectly. Great Bose sound system. I wish it got better gas mileage. Not impressed with the navigation system! I am not happy at all with the exterior paint or interior carpeting!

I bought this car brand new in 2012. Paid 17k. Worth every penny. It has 63k miles onit right now. Have never done anything other than change the oil and filter. It runs like it is expected. Slow and easy. You won't win no races with it. But it gets my wife to work with no issues. { 5 miles} Rain or snow. We have taken it on several road trips. Including a couple 1000 plus mile trips. Running wide open the whole way. It has no problem. I am a big guy. Very un comfy in most cars. But this I fall right into it and am able to climb back out with ease. The interior is cloth. Its starting to fade. But still no tears or wear marks. Theres nothing fancy about this car. But my wife loves it.

Living in Orlando, you know it’s kinda hard not to have a car to get you from place to place, especially when you are trying to juggle work, school, and personal life. As a person who works in the medical field, and having to be around patients on a daily basis, be at church twice a week, and as a nursing student, be able to get to my classes, and Clinical’s in a timely manner, it’s kind of hard not having a car to be able to do the things that I need to do. We bought a 2008 Mazda 3 Touring hatchback new. We have driven it for over 15 years / 150,000 miles and have never had anything major break on this car. We change the oil about every 5,000 miles and had to do some work on the C/V joints at about 100K miles. We didn't even need a new clutch until 140K miles. This car handles great, has plenty of acceleration with the 5 speed manual and gets great gas mileage.

We searched all over Northern Virginia for a reliable used car for our college aged daughter. From the scary fly-by-night warehouse dealers in Chantilly to a dealer in Alexandria selling a car that had obviously been in an accident as a 0 accident vehicle. It's a small team, not competing with each other, with a solid lot of inventory, and a focus on helping their customers find a vehicle. They engaged us in dialogue to understand what we were looking for, recommended a couple vehicles on the lot, then took us out to see their entire inventory. We found a great Toyota Rav-4 with some bumper damage. Eddie got the rear left bumper fixed and painted! Price was fair and process was well oiled. Ive had this car for almost a year and ive put it on aftermarket suspension and it runs great. Only issue ive ever had was with a bad electrical grounding to the fuel pump caused by the rough suspension. Insanely gas efficient and is very fun and is very toque-y in low gears. An amazing first car

They were so on top of getting things ready. I was in and out in record time instead of sitting around the dealership all day. I highly recommend them and they have a diverse collection of great cars.

So I owned my 2007 Miata for one year and two months until someone hit it when it was parked, and it got totaled. I bought it for $7000 and it had 213000 miles on it. The first year I spent around $1500 on repairs, maybe this number is so high because I wanted to take care of it well and others don't care to repair something immediately when it needs to be repaired. I also did all repairs with my dad so labor costs were not an issue. I talked to many friends who have cars like mustangs, enclaves and maximas and they pretty much all spent under 1,000 on repairs in the first year (they spent an average of like 400-500). Their cars ranged in years and miles. I assume the high milage on this car made the more frequent repairs needed. Anyway I loved this car gas milage was good and there was a few leaks like the rear brake light needed new gaskets under it. Great car but I feel like I was cheated a bit.
