I bought my 1995 cutlass 7 years ago for $1300 CAD and it still drives great to this day. I have owned brand new cars in my past and without a doubt this is the best car ever owned. Aside from tires, brakes and the battery the only thing I've had replaced is the alternator.

We've had our van since new and nwo have over 180,000 miles on it with just general maintenance. It burns no oil and the body and interior have held up well. Only problem has been with the heated seats which we've had to replace the elements in both front seats. Mileage is 19-20 in city and 24 mpg on the hwy. They don't make them like this anymore and I will hold on to it till it drops!

Over the years I must say the Silhouette has become my favorite. It is fully loaded with all possible options. After all the years, miles of road trips across the USA, it still drives beautifully. I found a fully loaded GLS model and it has neat features for 2001! Steering wheel audio controls, remote keyless entry and very comfortable 6 way power seats on both sides!

My beloved parents bought new. I took it over after they passed away. Great car all around and very little was repaired. Very very dependable car. Cadillac shortstar engine is great. Only replaced crank sensors, window regulators valve cover gaskets (they still leak) you have to change the oil and coolant flushed regularly. This engine runs like brand new since, the day my parents bought it home. Finicky engine. Use OEM parts from dealer for the engine, especially the water pump. I am hanging onto this gem as long as I can.

Bought my 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora new in early 1997. It is always covered and garage kept when not in use. As of the date of this review it has just over 41,000 miles. The exterior has a great aerodynamic design and I think it still has the look that can compete with the designs of todays vehicles. The only thing I wish was available for the exterior is fog or aux. lamps. The interior was very well designed and is very comfortable on long trips. The audio and climate control systems were well thought out and work flawlessly (at least mind does). The seats with their leather skins and heat system make nice on those cold driving days and nights. On one vacation, and staying near the posted speed limit I obtained an average of 28.3 miles per gallon, combined highway/city . Needless to say I was very surprised with the mpg I got on a 4.0L V-8 engine. It also has very good acceleration and smooth performance. The transmission shifts smoothly even under high acceleration. With that said, I could not tell the difference in the "normal" or "performance" modes on the transmission shift column. I do like the where the battery is located, under the rear seat. My first battery lasted 13 years before I had to replace it. This is most likely because it is not near a high heat area such as the engine compartment. The only negative for me is that you need to used the higher priced Premium gasoline. Although it is not a supercar, I and wish it had more HP, I do love my Aurora and would not sell it for any money. As a matter of fact I would like to buy another 1997 if I could find one in as good of condition as mine! (mine is in mint, but not show room condition)

This is the best and longest lasting car I've ever owned. It had 27,000 miles when purchased in 2001 and now has 194,600 miles and still going. I don' t know why GM was so hasty to discontine the Oldsmobile.

This car is now my summer car as I have the convertible model. The styling is unique and beautiful, and we have no problems with it mechanically.

I loved this car! I bought it new right off the lot! Unfortunately I only drove it for 3000 miles before I had an accident and totaled it😭 Fortunately the way the engine was designed to drop down and turn instead of coming through the dash saved my life. My problem was user stupidity. I liked the speed and ran into the back corner of a semi going 110 mph. I replaced it with another 1996 Cutlass Supreme and was much more careful.

Nice car and they really ride nice down the road and they are a very luxurious vehicle and I love the 1991-1996 oldsmobile ninety-eight regency elite 4-door sedan a lot too as well.

I had two of these and it was the best vehicle I have ever had I think it's one of the best ever made!!!! It wasn't extremely comfortable but it was the best I have owned I am trying to find another one!!!!

we bought this car used. All round great car!!! style,comfort,performance-all hard to beat. Too bad GM did away with this one and others similar to it. This is a car anyone would be proud to own. I can't say enough good things about it.

I bought a Alero in 2004 the last one made still have it I use it for shows it's in mint condition I have 87.473miles never seen rain all original original paint the only 2 thing I replaced is a battery and front brakes never had any problems love the car

My mother bought this car in 2001, GLS, for herself and was used for pleasure and her business. By 2014, we decided because of her age to take her driving privileges away and parked it in her garage until 2018 until the family had to sell her home for her nursing (memory care) home. I took the car and parked it in my driveway. Unfortunately the car I was driving had to be junked so I took Moms car in 2019. Only 70k miles and still running strong with of course a couple minor repairs to put it 100% back on track, Paul :)

I've had my 2003 Alero for 3 years. It's beautiful, runs so smooth and is clean and comfortable at 220,000 miles. Made in America. I have replaced a battery, a window, a thermostat, a belt, and wipers. I think people who had troubles, beyond what one would expect from a 22 year old car, may not have found good mechanics. If you can find an Alero 6 cylinder in good, clean condition and have a trustworthy mechanic, get one for fun.
