I’m a bragging past owner of a 2006 G6 Gypsy sedan. First owner up to around 37,000 miles. Great experience & performance! Only issue that aggravated me was the key release from the ignition “ which was repeatedly repaired & never solved?” My model was the rare 6 speed manual “ yes in a sedan!!!!” The manual had to be in a certain precise position to trigger the ignition key release. I joked with GM service department that apparently the car wanted to keep driving?! The only other service I can remember was the leather seat cover replaced because the color wore away. & a suspension part up front. Everything covered by factory no arguments. I’m extremely serious that this is one General Motors hidden past gems!!!! “ keep in mind I am NOT talking base entry level model here.” Everyone knows about the G8 the solstice which is understandably justified! However these G6 GTP & GXP are the best investment for the budget minded to get performance in a competitive fun driving sedan with luggage & storage space!” Unless you’re smart enough to purchase the HARDTOP metal roof convertible!” Do your self & your wallet a favor & don’t ignore the vehicle when looking!

We have a 2008 G6 Sedan. It was our family car, then my daily work car, now my daughter drives it to work. 257,000 miles on it and still going strong. Regular oil changes and routine maintenance. GREAT car!

I bought this car used in 2012. Over 10yrs later and 214k miles she still rolling. I did have to replace power steering sensor last year and unfortunately it has to be reprogrammed in shop or would of saved chuck of money. My evap solenoid is giving me trouble but my heat my AC my radio my windows all work and I would buy a brand new one if I good. Lots of replaced headlamp bulbs over the years but once rewired it made much better

Bought 2 reliable Honda Accord's here and had older for 8 years. Worked fine after I sold it, highly suggested and even handled some services in their shop for other vehicles!

My mom bought this car brand new in 2009 and I bought it from her in 2016, and finally now at 245k miles it finally needs a timing chain replacement and I'm making the decision to let it go. This car has taken me all over America multiple times over on 15k+ mile road trips. It has gone off road (not well but did it), zips up and down mountains, handled extreme cold (-40 F) and extreme heat (128 F) with no problems whatsoever. Even the transmission still runs like a dream, and i was really hoping to get a little more time from this car, but it's gotta go. Would absolutely buy another one if Pontiac was still around.

(owner of three 06/07 g6 GT/GTPs convertibles) Wonderful, sporty look. Design is great with minimal flaws such as cover that opens when top comes down malfunctioning or air vents coming out. Seats look great but sit in this car longer then two hours you'll wish you weren't. Every car I've seen has a rip in driver seat, you'll know what I mean if you own one most likely. Engine and transmission are strong and reliable with little maintenance needed. Things like CV joints, ball joints, sway bars, etc you'll need to replace often along with many electrical details and oil/tranny leaks. All around amazing, going on five years with my first one from 132k miles to 203k miles it runs just as it did the day I bought it.

Purchased my 2009 Pontiac G6 V6 in 2012 with 39,000 miles on it and I still have it today. Very dependable even with over 250k miles on it. Never had to do anything major to it. It does need a tune up and minor repairs from wear and tear over the years. Overall, I love my Pontiac to say this was my first car I purchased on my own at the age of 19 and can say I still have it driving it daily. I wish they would still make Pontiac’s because it would make a great first car to those coming out of high school and need something reliable with low cost maintenance. I call my Pontiac “The Silver Bullet” due to it getting down the road with no problem.

Bought this car at a junk auction. It was in poor shape but I knew that going into it. It was a jewel of a find 06 gtp. It's my fun summer's only, occasional driver. I gutted all the seats and replaced them with leather as well as fixed the interior. Car had lots of mechanical issues as well but the engine was and still is strong. Its a fun car to buy and take under your wing as a collectors, project car. Lots of cheap parts in the junk yards now. I would not recommend this car for a daily driver unless you plan on spending a lot of money fixing stuff. The cars are old.

I have an 06 4 door GTP, comes with an amazing SUPERCHARGED 3.9L, looks sporty and even muscle car ish (besides the front headlights I just replaced them with halos because the stocks looked a bit buggy), the GTP rims look better than Camaro SS rims in my opinion, performs perfectly and amazingly,great gas mileage, fire hot heat, ice cold AC, I love racing people on the street in this car because I leave 90% of them in the dirt as soon as I takeoff, many compliments on the looks and rarity, power seats are heated and most comfortable I’ve ever had, in the snow I make truck look like nothing when it comes to handling, sound system POUNDS super nice, smooth ride, very minimal inexpensive issues at 170k, does some aggressive smoky burnouts, and very reliable too, no matter what, -20 degrees out, 97 degrees, it has never let me down, every time I turn the key she fires up loud and proud in 1 pull!! ETC. With all of that said, I wouldn’t trade this car for anything else. The 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP 4 door sedan is definitely a great performer, reliable till the end, beautifully and uniquely designed car 1000% Best car I’ve ever owned and very very highly recommend it.

Bought this car new in 2009. We still drive this as our main car. V6 and now has only 90000 miles on it. This has been one of the most reliable cars we have ever owned. It has been garage kept and still looks new. We are so sure of this car that we are giving it to our granddaughter now that she is turning 16.

Have had this car over 2 years never had anything major wrong with it at all! Starts up every single time and at 250k plus miles she is stil rolling with no issues!!! Love, Love LOVE!

This car saved my life. First off I understand there are some issues, however they have been minor in the grand skim like the blinkers have to be held on. The tire barrings needed adjustment. But, considering that I got this car with over a 10000 miles on it and it had been in a accident prior it still preformed amazing! I love this car don't to its core, reliable even on cold days, good steering that makes me feel in control of the car. Not to tight or like a boat. The radio sound is great. The get up and go power is overall good nothing too impressive compared to other sports cars like my brothers impala. But, there is just something about this car that is special. The seats are comfortable years later, the doors are soft close as in you don't have to slam them. (And it takes a beating and keeps going!). I got in a car crash on black ice and hit the railing. This car doesn't seam it but it was sturdy enough to keep me from any harm. Everyone said it should be totalled out because of it shifted frame, lost both bumpers, the body was a mess. But I loved this car so much that I couldnt let her go!! so, I decided to keep it instead of totalling it out. And that was because the engine still ran great! Even when the battery was literally tied into the engine so it wouldnt fall out. Maybe I have a strong personal bound to this car beause now i still love it even with no horn, the doors locks are messed up on the drivers side, the ac unit got smashed. The emergency lights dont work. Yet after 7 years the only regret is that I didn't take better care of her or fix her up more after the accident. This is a great little car and still driving and kicking with a little more character than before. Hands down best car I've ever had.

Zach and his team went above and beyond when my parents purchased their car several years ago. They seldom drive these days so when Dad was not able to start the car recently even after trying to charge the battery, we reached out to Zach. Based on our conversation he took the initiative to order a new battery in case it was needed. We scheduled a time for him to come to the house and take a closer look. It turned out, they needed a battery. Zach installed the new one on the spot. In less than 30 minutes it was all resolved. We can't say enough about the integrity and character that has been demonstrated over and over again by Zach and College Cars Chicago. The SERVICE has been OUTSTANDING three years and running.

Our son bought his car 2 years ago with 67500 miles. It was a one owner 4 door sedan base model. It has a 2.5l 4 cylinder. What a terrific car for him, it rides really nice and is quiet inside, not too mention very roomy, around town it gets around 23/ highway 32. He loves driving it, the AC still blows ice cold, handles great in the snow, and has plenty of standard features; ABS, traction control, stabilitrak, cruise, am/fm cd player, power seat, pwr windows/locks, daytime running lamps. It rides close in comfort to my wifes 2013 Malibu. We upgraded the oem stereo and speakers last year for more features and the speakers were tired. The only turnoff some people may have is the interior seats are cloth, but theres a lot of hard plastic on the dash and door panels, but then again most cars from this era were built like this. We also installed a backup camera as well. If you find one you wont be disappointed, at 78000 miles and 11 years old, no oil leaks, no oil burning, just a great running car.

I'm a retired Used Rolls-Royce/Bentley dealer in Geneva, NY. I saw an ad for a 1991 Cadillac at Century Motors. After discussing it with Frank the owner, I decided to buy it "sight unseen". I sent the check and they shipped it to me in Geneva, NY 1400 miles away! I was not only satisfied with discussions with Frank, but the car arrived and I am thoroughly satisfied. It needed a right front bumper molding and Frank agreed to send one to me. This dealership requires consideration if you want to buy a well serviced car of any make or model. This dealership has a remarkably great reputation an I agree that it is one of the few So Florida used car stores who are honest, service the car BEFORE selling it and takes careful steps to insure good relationships with customers. I may even buy another one from them, and spread the news of his store to my friends up here in the North who may want a "rust free" Southern car! Great store, nice people, as a retired dealer I'm showing my respect for Frank & team! Imagine buying a 35 yr old car from someone 14oo miles away "sight unseen" and be happy! I DID! YOU SHOULD!

Bought my G6 GT Coupe last summer with 162K miles on it. Now up to 178K this month and man...does she still run exactly the same as she did at 162K, great drive-train. Beyond that, isn't it just whipped cream on top? ;-) I use my G6 for gig work (UberEATs, etc) and while it's had some needed repairs (particularly with the suspension and the steering, the weakest part of the car imo), it's the drivetrain has continued to impress and push through all the suspension drama (like a control arm simply tearing in half from 16 years of corrosion in Midwestern winters). Performance-wise, it's really a sleeper vehicle, for sure. I rarely push the engine above 4000 rpms, but when I do, I can be confident that I can push the car through any traffic situations around me. It's not going to win any drag races, but it's more than capable in your everyday driving scenarios (and flat-out excellent in rainy conditions, with the right tires). I would say the handling has been the most disappointing element of the car, even with the '07 models mostly now having hydraulic steering (vs the crappy electric steering that was relegated to the cheapest models by '07). The turning radius feels quite big for a car that isn't too huge like the G6...feels like I'm still trying to park my first car, an old-style '90 Mercury Grand Marquis, which had 2 full feet of length more than my G6. That said, these issues largely disappear on the road, and the car is very "compliant" on the highway. In conclusion, it's a real tragedy that Pontiac is no more: I think the G6/G8 line was a fantastic offering by 2007/2008, the brand simply ran out of time thanks to GM mismanagement. The final Pontiacs weren't always the best lookers (looking at you, Aztec), but were certainly solid, reliable cars. I can't imagine buying another American car after this one, not unless Pontiac is resurrected again. Thanks to my highly-effective G6, the brand would more than deserve that.

This is the second G6 I've owned and I went looking specifically for it. I had the 4 cylinder sedan before, but I really wanted the GT trim V6 convertible. So I found one and bought it. The car handles well, has enough power to be good for city and interstate driving, and looks like the perfect late 2000's car: sort of sporty, but not angular like today's cars. It's really a shame GM decided to stop making the Pontiac line, I'd love to own a 2020 G6...

I love the way the car looks and the leather seats are very comfortable. The 3.5 liter V6 offers great performance for cheep. After just a few months of owning it however my rims started corroding and they need to be replaced and my strut mounts constantly squeak. This doesn't mean the car isn't reliable per say but it is a significant added expense. I don't have any regrets buying the car because of all the things I love about it but if you buy a 10 year old car like the Pontiac G6 be prepared for quite a few annoying repairs.

I would recommend MC Auto LLC ,Kansas City ,Kansas. I bought a used truck from them over the phone it was everything they said it was, delivered with no problems. Even after we agreed on a price they had there mechanics go back threw the truck and found a relay that was bad and fix it with no extra charges. I think that's exceptional service on there part. I found this car on a BMW dealership's used car lot in 2018. I fell in love with it at first site. The car was in immaculate condition and was priced fairly reasonably at $8,900.00. I just got my first VA disability check and was able to purchase it with no credit. I am always proud to drive this car. It is a hardtop convertible. It is sporty but not a sports car. It gets horrible gas mileage as I primarily do city driving and have averaged just about 15 mpg. But I own it now and KBB is supposedly just $2250.00. I don't think you'll find one in this condition (as of this writing Jan 21) for less than 8500. Rightly so because it is a hardtop convertible. At about 89,000 the tonneau cover covering the whole behind the headrests blew off and I continued operating the top for some time. This further damaged the top and mechanism forcing me to have to replace the whole assembly. Fortunately I found a dealer in Clearwater (Autonation Chevy) who was competent and did an outstanding job. So for $1,500.00 I repaired my top on my $2300.00 car and I love it again. Only problem is tire pressure warning system. I also had to replace the thermostat in the engine ($250.00) and bought new performance brakes and rotors on Amazon and had those installed total price $300.00. And I still love it. It is the prettiest car in my parking lot and I always get complements on it whenever I stop at Sams club for gas. It is quick enough but as all the original reviewers put it, it is a family car whose top can come down. It has stood up to at least 6 grueling Florida seasons three of them in front of my condo exposed to the elements and no problems. I currently have just shy of 94,000 miles on it and wouldn't dream of replacing it any time soon because anything else would cost three or four times as much for the same value. And I didn't mention the Monsoon sound system which is amazing. I use my phone with a bluetooth dongle and quite simply the sound system sounds better than any other car in 30 to 40 k price range (I have tried premium sound systems in the Hyundai Genesis and Kia products) , the Mustang and a few others and quite simply this machine has an amazing sound system. Even though the FM radio stopped working a year ago, Spotify and Sirius XM always rock and that Bluetooth dongle does the trick and notably most phones now have Dolby Atmos which works with the Bluetooth dongle so no reason to get a new car just so you can get an infotainment system which will be obsolete in three years. Only thing now is to upgrade the interior a bit and perhaps some touchup paint on the hood and rear deck lid - seeing as how I've had a mechanical carwash membership for the car for about 2 1/2 years and it has been washed every other day that entire time.... just goes to show how much I love this car.

His kindness and willingness to spend time with us so we would understand what services would be done and what is wrong with our car was very personalized and friendly. He is an asset to the service department and knowledgeable. He is one of the reasons we will return. The timely manner we also had all the service done was quick and not unreasonable for the things we needed to have done to our car.

I loved driving this car. Fast when I want and not a bad style either. The price is about right with my trade this will work out fine.
