I recently purchased A 2018 Alpina B7 from Ray at Motor Cars Of Chicago. When I purchased the car I made it clear to Ray that I was going to be in need of the title in ASAP fashion – Ray said I’d have the title within two weeks and boy did I just like he said he fulfilled the promise he made no questions asked. Also on the way home after taking delivery, I had a very minor problem that turned out to be a bad battery. Ray was unaware of when we took delivery of the car – Ray didn’t hesitate he reimbursed me for the batteries I had to have installed at the BMW dealer by the BMW dealer. He said the car was flawless and he stood behind that statement. Ray is very straightforward and no xx perhaps not full of warm fuzzies for everyone but a great way to do business, especially in the luxury and highline car business. I find Ray to be honorable direct and stand up and we’ll do business with him again if I had any reservations about doing business with them before this transaction, they are all completely gone and yours should be too. This is the car I always wanted to own since playing the monster arcade hit game N.A.R.C by Williams in 1988. WHY? I fell in love with those two guys jumping out of the red Porsche, but that Porsche itself was the 1988 911 Turbo! (funny, that when you jump out of the car, you can actually blow it up with your rocket launcher, haha!). Anyway, I paid a tremendous amount for this used and it was WORTH every single penny. NO car for the "reasonable price" of $100k I paid comes close in terms of value and styling and handling and raw power (the torque is insane!). Yes I know other cars would have gotten me close and certainly even beyond like a souped up gently used Corvette C7 at that price range but I like small cars and love the styling on the default 911 models, especially the Turbo :) Say no to drugs and yes to Porsche 911 Turbo!

I spend about $1000-$2000 each year on maintenance. One may consider that high, but I purchased a 911 C4S car for $35,000; the MSRP was $93,000 in 2004. The vehicle has appreciated since 2019, and now, with such a detailed service history over the years, it could sell for $40,000. So you either pay in depreciation or maintenance, and though I may be a stickler for maintenance, it keeps the value stable. I could have gotten a new Camry for $35,000, but it would be worth about $15,000 now and less fun. Next car I will jump up to a 2012 to 2015 Porsche. You can't go wrong if you get the right model, rare options, and even rare colors. Number one is having complete maintenance records; don't buy one without them.

After 911 turbos, and then having Cayman S's, I knew I wanted a 911 NA. A GT3 version seemed to fit the bill, but I could not find any to test drive. I bought a 2018 sight unseen and when it was delivered to my house, and drove it, is when I realized: you don't know until you know. There's a reason why Chris Harris can have any car he wants, and test drives all cars, and chooses a GT3 for himself. It is quick, not as fast as a turbo, but it screams like a banshee when getting up to 9k rpms. The experience is what sells this car. It is endearing and I will not let it go. No car ADD when it comes to the GT3. After years of ownership, it has not had a single issue. Definitely recommend.

When you buy a Porsche 911 you buy it because of its performance. My car now has 96,000 mile are runs and drives as it should. I do several DE track days every year. It has never let me down. It is amazing to drive, steers like it is on rails, stops on a dime, and goes as fast as I need it to go. What a great car!!

I have had my '02 base 6 speed manual Carrera Coupe for about 5 years. It was a car I had checked out, but my wife bought for my 50th. I love the car. I do some "spirited drives" with a great group of folks early Sunday mornings (when the back roads are pretty empty). The car is just a blast to drive hard. I have never come close to finding its limits in terms of cornering. It can be driven quite sedately if you keep it under about 4,000 RPMs. Fine around town. Stop and go traffic is obviously a pain with any manual car, but the clutch is a little stiffer than, say, a Honda. Road trips are fine if you can fit, and it's a bit noisy on the highway from tire noise. I was interested in the 911 over a used Cayman (or Miata, etc.) because I can put my kids in the back (they are 4 and 7, and they LOVE pulling "g-forces" The main downside is this is a 22 year old car with a list of things that really need to be replaced. Not because they are broken, but just standard maintenance. I need a transmission rebuild to fix an occasional issue with 2nd gear. Rear main seal. Check the IMS bearing. Water pump. Then the suspension and engine mounts probably need to be gone over. All this is probably $12,000-$15,000. Bottom line, these 996 911s can be had for mid-20's, but it's still a Porsche. You don't get Honda-priced parts when you need to replace something.

PASM along with the AWD helps keep this one glued to the road. The 4 is Wider than a 2 the S is not necessary. All season road runner. Top down warm weather, AWD for the rest. 😎

Porsche was my dream car and have owned the 2007 911 Carrera S for many years. It is everything I desired in a car. Smooth, fast, reliable and beautiful Black with Black interior and manual shift. I have owned two Corvettes, an MGB and Pontiac GTO, but the Porsche 911 is a keeper.

Although I didn't buy a high end exotic, I was treated like I was buying one. Owned a corvette, a viper, the 911 and the boxster. I’d say the boxster s was a bit more fun to drive, and like both porsches equally for different reasons. Test drove BMWs on multiple occasions, never liked any of them. Test drove a couple of ferraris, a bit too small and expensive. Same for the NSX. Bought it 2 years old and got a great price. The targa 4s that I currently have, has some nice 911 features, including the large retractable roof, and the pop up rear window, for easy access to the back seat.

I contacted them and had a quick response. I was able to test drive the car that night. Everyone there was extremely courteous and able to answer any questions. I ended up buying the car that night. I have owned Porsches continually over a 30 year period - 2 of them 930's. The early 80's Euro spec Turbos (I owned a 1981) were VERY tricky to drive, and the turbo came on with brutal suddeness. The later 87 - 89 Turbos are much more refined in terms of turbo boost, and engine management, yet JUST as much fun to drive. People suggest that the 89 is the best year because it had the G50 (5 speed ) transmission. I wholeheartedly disagree with this, the 1988 with Porsches' square cut geared, 4 speed, is the pure RACING transmission designed by Porsche to handle 550 HP. It is extremely robust, and basically bullet-proof unless they are abused... The 3.3 litre Turbo has TREMENDOUS torque especially for such a light car, so the extra gearing of the G50 is not necessary. As for the G50: its' only benefit was the first gear syncro whose ratio is way too low - making it almost silly to use. It is not nearly as strong as the 4 speed, which by the way, Porsche continued to use in their racing EVEN after the introduction of the G50 - that tells the whole story I think. The turbos - if you get one that has been taken care of, will provide you with years of reliable driving. All 3 of my former Porsche 911/930's I sold for more than I purchased them for. There are VERY few cars that, like a good 911/930 do more than just hold their value - especially if you can acquire a well taken care of rare model.

This car is a rocket on 4 wheels. The PDK transmission shifts very quickly with no lag or delay in torque. In fact the torque seems to increase in addition to achieving great gas mileage. That's a formidable task compared to other performance cars. The car does sit low to the ground so if you have bad knees or hips then it might not be a good fit for you.
