Now that an initial manufacturing defect with my dashboard has been fixed and wood trim has been added, I really love my car. It is a palace on wheels and a truly amazing vehicle to behold. However, to get to this point, I've realized the following: 1) It's critical to find a quality Porsche dealership. While they do exist, they are few and far between. In my area, there is only one that I'd trust to do much more than a routine oil change. 2) Porsche as a manufacturer has a surprising disregard for both quality control and customer service. They expect their dealer network to resolve their shortcomings. 3) Pricing is not fixed or consistent for anything. Even parts and routine maintenance costs. You can save a lot of money by calling around and being informed.

If you need a car, get a Volvo, if you need a dealer get Volvo of Lisle. You can not go wrong. I have been a customer for 20 years as a result of the way I have been treated. We bought a 2006 cayenne S in 2015 with 134K kilometres, paid 18K CAD at the time. my mechanic friend and i have changed serpentine belt, starter, valve cover seals, spark plugs, battery (its a big expensive one under the drivers seat), coil packs, AC motor, hatch struts, power steering and brake flush, complete fuel pump system replacement under back seats. (quote for that was 2600 we did it for about 1100). all outside and interior lights other than HID headlights changed to led, The coolant Reservoir cracked and had to replaced at a shop for about 900$. Replaced cracked engine mount arm. Professionally did tranny flush plus two leaking transmission wiring harnesses, (cost was 2100$ for that we paid at a bmw/porsche/audi shop), put a pioneer infotainment deck in it for 1300$ to get apple CarPlay etc (done ourselves add $1000 for labor on that) , We're about 9 grand in fixes 9 years in and are sitting at 194K KMS. We were at witts end for fixes but the Car has been running great since, obviously super fun to drive, wife loves it. Currently beating any monthly car payment but your always wondering what's going break next, and you got to be handy.

Same day service for belts and spark plugs. In and out the door fast. I even went to the wrong branch and was still served! Wonderfully efficient.
