This car has been maligned as having reliability issues due to IMS issues and bore scoring. From what I can gather, bore scoring occurs from improper maintenance and driving beyond 7200 rpm. Maybe I am wrong as I am no mechanic--far from it. If you know the car has a good history as did mine, with one owner and regular oil changes and dealer inspections, it is hard to go wrong. I did a PPI with an independent mechanic and as far as he could see past the spark plugs he found no issues and no leaks or evidence of same on the underside. Every time I drive this car I have a smile on my face. What is that worth?

My GT4 is the most fun car I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had multiple BMW ‘M’ cars. As someone else mentioned, not a drag car although 4.1 secs 0-60 is no slouch. It revels in cornering, I’ve often said “I’ve never met a corner I couldn’t go around faster the next time”! I’m 6’5” and apart from being a contortionist getting in and out, it’s dry comfortable for me once sitting in the carbon fiber buckets.

The 991.2 Porsche 911 really is the everyday sports car. Not conspicuous but also not mundane. With so many variants available, its hard not to find a 911 that fits YOUR needs and wants. The engine is sublime, the interior is refined and well built, and the cockpit ergonomics are unmatched. After driving a 911 (any variant), any other sub-150K sports car is just Meh. One of the underappreciated aspects of using this car on a daily basis is how easy it is to live with: the outward visibility is excellent, the tech is great, and the car is comfortable on long drives. When looking for your first 911, you should consider with a well-loved 991. I prefer the "Dot 2's" because of the turbo engine and the Apple CarPlay but the 991.1's have a charm of their own and shouldn't be discounted. One of the few drawbacks to any 911 is the road noise...you will have to get used to hearing those big tires hitting the road and if you drive on rough roads the majority of the time you WILL be annoyed (maybe look at a NSX or a C8 instead). Otherwise, you will not regret the ownership experience!

If the car that I bought had been at MB of North Orlando, I would have had no hesitation buying from them as they supplied all of the info that I was looking for.

This car is a rocket on 4 wheels. The PDK transmission shifts very quickly with no lag or delay in torque. In fact the torque seems to increase in addition to achieving great gas mileage. That's a formidable task compared to other performance cars. The car does sit low to the ground so if you have bad knees or hips then it might not be a good fit for you.

The Cayman R is amazing on all levels. The R handles like a race car but is soft enough for the street. The mid-engine configuration (which is also leveraged by the factory Porsche race team for their GTLM entries) is superior. This car will be a collectable very soon as only 461 made it to the US.

Turbo GT. Hard to believe it drives as well as my 911 through the mountains. Ride is better than advertised with the lowered ride and stiffer suspension. PTO color is flawless. It does not drive around corners…it deletes them

2nd Cayman 2.7M. Bought first New in 2006 as my daily driver. Drunk driver totaled it with 132K Miles in 2019, only repair besides normal maintenance was an Air Oil Separator at 89K Miles. Fantastic Car. Got 2014 Cayman 2.7M in 2019 with 15K Miles. 2014 is a much better car. Enjoying it at 38K Miles and will keep as long as I can drive.

I spend about $1000-$2000 each year on maintenance. One may consider that high, but I purchased a 911 C4S car for $35,000; the MSRP was $93,000 in 2004. The vehicle has appreciated since 2019, and now, with such a detailed service history over the years, it could sell for $40,000. So you either pay in depreciation or maintenance, and though I may be a stickler for maintenance, it keeps the value stable. I could have gotten a new Camry for $35,000, but it would be worth about $15,000 now and less fun. Next car I will jump up to a 2012 to 2015 Porsche. You can't go wrong if you get the right model, rare options, and even rare colors. Number one is having complete maintenance records; don't buy one without them.

The glass canopy allows the outdoors in and provides plenty of light when driving through Mt. passes and canyons. I have been wanting to drive the famed 993 911 as well. Recently purchased the 2020 Macan GTS, so still in 'honeymoon' phase. That said, no issues to report. Pretty amazing how the vehicle can change personalities. Can be Dr. Jeckyl - smooth, quiet, refined touring car. Click a few buttons and its Mr. Hyde - growling, fast, quick steering tall hatchback that is ready for twisting roads or highway blast. Not encountered a vehicle that does this touring/sport change as well. Another standout for the 2020 is ability to go 'old school' buttons/analog - or modern digital interfaces. Like all the buttons, once you get to know them. Quick and less distraction from road. Rear seat is snug for anyone over 6 foot. Chose this over the Audi SQ5 - but it was a close contest. GTS wins on driving dynamics, but SQ5 is a wonderful luxury experience. Hard to resist the Porsche once you drive it. Does the luxury part pretty darn well too. Wow.
