I have owned the car for about 15 months. It is a good car. There is an issue with burning a little oil. This is a known issue. I almost traded it in when I realized the oil consumption issue, but I stuck with it. I add almost a quote every two gas fill ups. I purchased it with 62,000 miles. I am a salesman and I put nearly 30,000 miles on it in the past 15 mos. Mostly highway. I had to repack the bearings in the rear wheels. This set me back about $1,200. Not good. Other than that, the car has been fine. I plan on driving it another year.

recently just bought a super low mileage 2006 S430 California one owner car, that had been pampered and garaged. Beautiful flawless interior, gorgeous exterior with AMG sport package and new tires. Car had around 87000 miles on it, so I didn't squabble over 10k price, it also had new tires. I own another 2009 S550 but couldn't resist buying this one as it was last year of the body style and this one had wonderful service records. Engine shifts perfectly, AC blows cold, fresh oil change, it is a really great car for the money and you simply cannot buy a car of this high quality for this amount of money.

A manual lover, this made me switch religion. Odd/even transmissions and millisecond shifts with no gap in power pair perfectly with the race revving v8. And THREE.. sublime MDM traction control. All newer M models with turbo engines and comparatively sluggish throttle response include this. This is the final overlap. Instant throttle plus instant transmission plus instant handling equals the car dancing in and out of its performance envelope like a trained show dog. Buy one and good luck. I have several Ms. Not selling this one. Oh.. Minuses: Eats expensive tires like popcorn, sell your clutch foot to pay for brake platters. Head gaskets ooze around the 100k range. Worth it.
