Used Subaru Forester for sale near Rahway, NJ

I bought my 2025 Subaru Forester the middle of August and two weeks later took it on a 1500 mile road trip. My only complaints are the funky steering (extremely sensitive) and the 11.6" Infotainment screen occasionally freezing. That's not a good thing when driving in traffic. I wished it was AWD versus continuous four wheel drive. Overall, I do like the Forester better than the CR-V I had before.

I had to make a 5 1/2 hour drive recently and loved how smoothly my car drove, especially using cruise control with “eyesight” so it slowed when I was too close to the car in front of me. I couldn’t even feel it; I watched the speedometer. Love the safety features and extras like seat warmers and large sunroof.

Found a great car listed on Cars.com. Called to confirm that the vehicle was still available and was able to make an appointment to see it a few hours later with Anthony C. The buying process was straightforward, didn't have to play games. Anthony was knowledgeable and went out of his way to make us comfortable. We live quite far from the dealership but would be happy to go again if we needed.

LOVE this car, maybe a little biased since this is my 5th Forester, my 2nd Wilderness. My first Wilderness was totaled in a head-on collision when a young driver spilled coffee and veered into my lane and struck me head-on. That was my 1st Subaru Forester Wilderness and IT SAVED MY LIFE. Full curtain all-around airbag deployment with a roll, the Wilderness coming to rest on it's right side, me still strapped into seatbelt, and the Subaru automatic crash notification with a live person on the speakers asking me if I was ok and needed 911! Smoke still coming from the airbag deployments, and there is a live person coming over the speakers asking me if I'm ok. It was surreal. SUBARU FORESTER WILDERNESS SAVED MY LIFE! TYVM Subaru! LOVE this car! Gets 25+ MPG with conservative driving, a great ride and suspension, superior traction in mud and snow, load-out practically anything/rack bikes (or whatever on the roof racks), sleep in the back with ample room, superior rear-gate lift mechanism with memory, seats super-comfortable and easily adjustable, solid rear-seat leg-room, easy rear-seat fold-downs for massive cargo area that takes my full HVAC tool load-out for servicing ice baths all over the NorthEast US. Great place, always satisfied with service. Driving safely for years. Thanks to Richard Lucas Subaru staff. My 2013 Chevrolet Malibu low brake fluid warning came on and they took me in right away. THey found cause of brake fluid leak and repaired in same day.

I have owned my 2017 Forester since late 2016. Except for normal maintenance I've had no problems with thr vehicle. All of the warning systems work very well,they have saved me from accidents numerous times. The automatic seat repositioning when some one else has used my is really handy eliminates all the adjusting needed to get the position back to my needs. Traction and controll during winter and bad weather are excellent. My forrester get used like a truck at times. Great overall car.

I got the 2025 Subaru Forester Touring. I stayed with Subaru because I loved my 2017 Touring. I'm familiar with the layout. Hybrid was not available, but I heard the battery cuts into the cargo space.

I am in love with my new Subaru Crosstrek. I love this excellent Sun Blaze Pearl color. I went in for the red color, but after seeing this! I loved it. The Forester is the first SUV I ever owned. It has had a few issues, but the dealership, Kenny Ross in Irwin Pa, has always been top notch in customer service. First issue was the orignal tires went bald after only 10,000 miles. I called Kenny Ross and they said they would contact corporate. Got 4 new tires at no charge. Next issue I did not even know I had. Took it in for an oil change and they tell me I need a new CVT. Didn't know I had a problem. No charge again. Last issue was a radio that kept giving an error message and would not work. Took four visits to isolate the problem, but now have a new radio that brings in more stations. Again for free. Highly recommend the bumper to bumper warranty. Money well spent.

This is my third Subaru Forrester. I like the newer safety features and ease of handling. The size is perfect for me, not too small or too big! I would recommend if you’re looking for a midsize vehicle.

I've had my 2025 Subaru Forester for a little less than a month. Pros: Smooth ride, comfortable seats, good sight lines out the windows, spare tire. Cons: Cost of extras already installed that I didn't want, duplicate control options for some items .

I’m the 3rd owner of a 2012 Subaru Forester purchased at approx 175,000 miles and it still runs pretty good! It does burn oil up pretty quickly and mine has issues with reading the levels and won’t give me a warning light so i check the dip stick often. Mine did have exhaust issues and had to replace a rested out piping from the cat back, but mufflers were still good. Also the Oxygen sensor was a problem for awhile, which you can only use on brand for it to work properly. Gas mileage is decent for the size of the vehicle and its age. Only wish the front seats went back more bc my taller girlfriend who is 5’11 with long legs struggles to fit and be comfortable in the passenger seat.

Bought my 2015 Subaru 2.0XT Touring brand spanking new off the Subaru dealership's lot. Have owned it all this time about 9 years straight. Take care of your car with regular oil changes, servicing at recommended intervals, and your car will take care of you. Performed the required recalls during service periods. Not 1 single regret on owning this car, ever. It rides smooth and true. Had a clicking issue in the ball joints 2 years ago which Subaru fixed free of charge. Other than that, this car has been my dream machine.

Love my Forester only drawback is the tires are made of a soft compound and you only get 25k miles then they need to be replaced.

I have been a MALOUF customer for over 20 years. They have always provided superior service. Any repair and service completed was thorough and fully explained by the staff.

Other than battery replacement , car has been amazing ! 1 exception cup holders are located too far aft and require driver to look down to locate cup without removing eyes from road ! This issue has been partially addressed in later years by offsetting passengers holder slightly forward of drivers, but still awkward position ! both should be more forward nearer to dash !

I've never owned a Subaru before but after purchasing the Forester, I may never own anything but a Subaru again! I love the Eyesight Drivers Assistant that it came equipped with. I can see why this car has one of the best safety ratings out there. The interior is very open, spacious, & comfortable and the panoramic sunroof is amazing! It drives and handles like a dream. I would recommend this car to anyone. You won't be disappointed!

I love my forester!! The only complaint is the driving assist sensors don't work with a steering wheel cover (leather), and the adaptive cruise control is too sensitive. Other than those 2 things literally everything else is perfect.

I purchased the 2023 Wilderness trim in August and I chose it because I live in a very snowy and mountainous area. I certainly needed an upgrade from my trusty 2wd, low-clearance hatchback. I can watch the season change with more peace of mind with its high clearance, AWD and features like Starlink and X-mode ready to step in when called upon. I’m a huge fan of the vehicle’s exterior styling and the interior feels luxurious and durable. The cabin is well-insulated from engine and road noise. One drawback is that the sound system lacks depth even with the base turned all the way up (I don’t have the Harmon Kardon stereo option). I’ve never owned a car with a sunroof before and I love letting in extra daylight and looking up at the cliffs and trees during stops so I can’t imagine life without it, now. Even the low beam headlights provide clear-as-day visibility on the darkest nights, but I’d be worried about blinding other drivers so I’d give more follow distance. Many reviewers seem dissatisfied with its acceleration, but it hasn’t felt underpowered to me and I drive a Chevy Suburban for work. It feels like I’m barely touching the accelerator to cruise up steep grades, but I’m a leisurely driver so my expectations differ. :)
