I recently gave my daughter my much loved, fully loaded 2007 Camry Hybrid.I miss it very much. The early ones were made in Japan and really hold up well providing you take care of them. During the 165,000 miles I owned the car it never broke down and never required a repair aside from normal things like brakes, tires, new TPS sensors and normal maintenance. That's quite remarkable. If you take the time to learn how to coax the car into electric mode with the gas pedal these cars easily exceed 40 mpg except during the coldest few months. If you can find a well cared for example of this car jump on it, you won't regret it.

Purchased my very first brand new car in May of ‘22 which was a Toyota Camry Hybrid Le during a time when gas was at an all time high and new vehicles were exceedingly difficult to acquire. And I don’t regret it a bit… 👍 I’ve averaged, yes AVERAGED, over 60MPG in the 45,000 miles I’ve put on the car in 1-1/2 years. My best average for a tank of fuel was 68.1 MPG and the car is big enough to suit my long daily commute needs as well as for driving around our family of 4. Learning to “pulse & glide” the vehicles hybrid system is essential if low maintenance cost & gas savings is your thing but it also has plenty of get up when needed especially when sport mode is engaged. Trunk space is great and I haven’t had the first mechanical issue since I’ve made the purchase. Bring your car in for maintenance every 5,000 miles and it will last forever. I very nearly bought a Honda Achord at the time since cars were so hard to come by but many people I’ve spoken to that also keep their cars for a long time have had major engine problems with their achords especially ones that are turbo charged. If you have never owned a Hybrid Camry, you cannot possibly go wrong.

My recent purchase at Van Nuys Kia was the best experience buying a new vehicle I have had. Other dealers were not able to accept the $7,500 EV tax credit for a purchase, but Van Nuys Kia did. Bought this car new in October 2017. Initially had trouble putting fuel in it. I'd be on empty and get about three litres of fuel in it and then it would shut off and burp out some. Read the instructions inside the filler cap. Problem solved. When it was about three years old (about 2020/2021 maybe), I had a steering box problem. The dealer wanted $850 Canadian for the part plus taxes plus labour. Took it to my mechanic. He agreed with the assessment. He took the cover off the steering box and lubed it with a can of lube (was it WD-40??) and never had an issue after that. LAST TIME I'LL TAKE IT TO A DEALER!!!!! Got rear-ended in October 2023. I had 184,000 kilometres on the car. The car was totalled and I did not know it. The trunk opened and closed, the backup camera still worked, and not even a tail light was cracked, but the unibody was compromised. Drove it for another hundred kilometres before it was classed a write-off. Fuel economy for 184,000 kilometres was 4.7 litres per hundred kilometres or 50 MG (American) or 60 MPG Imperial. This was, don't forget, for the life of the car!!! Would I buy it again?? By the bones of my ancestors, ABSOLUTELY!!!!!

I bought my 2018 Camry LE hybrid early in the model year, the first year for a major redesign. It had two rather annoying rattles that I fixed myself. I'll chalk that up to it being a early production car. It has been flawless since then, averaging about 45 mpg for a mix of driving including everything from stop-and-go driving, to highway trips going with the faster of the traffic on the interstate. The power is more than adequate. The thing that would make it substantially better would be a hatchback or wagon body.
